“President Fu, these two bottles are for you.”
Yue Su generously handed over the two bottles of honey she had prepared for Fu Xijin.
She no longer deliberately avoided him, nor did she try to maintain a distance.
Fu Xijin naturally noticed these changes.
It felt as if she had thrown away something heavy — her heart clear and at ease, unburdened and open.
The clearer she appeared, the more unsettling it was.
Fu Xijin lowered his eyes, his expression indifferent, one hand resting casually on his bent knee.
His bare arm, firm and defined, hung down elegantly, the wrist bones delicate like a sculpture.
He neither reached out to accept the honey nor refused it.
“Just leave it there,” he said.
Yue Su placed the honey beside him without sparing him another glance, then turned and walked away.
She didn’t notice that behind her, the man’s gaze followed her closely.
Meanwhile, Naonao’s eyes swirled with mischief. Noticing Jiang Xin staring at the honey, Naonao immediately piped up, “Uncle, can I give these two bottles of honey to my mom and dad?”
Fu Xijin lazily withdrew his gaze and replied, “Sure.”
Naonao gave Jiang Xin a proud look, lifting her chin high.
Hmph!
Jiang Xin, who had only just managed to stop crying, was infuriated once again.
With the honey settled, the next matter was dealing with the mushrooms and game.
“Yue Su, all these mushrooms — you picked them all yourself?” Yi Xia asked in surprise.
Yue Su nodded. “It rained last night. There are lots of mushrooms in the forest. I only dared to pick the ones I recognized, and they’re all safe to eat once cooked.”
Yuan Jin swallowed hard, his mind already racing through eighty-eight different ways to cook wild mushrooms.
“Then let’s start a fire. Everyone must be hungry,” someone suggested.
Yi Xia quickly added, “I didn’t help at all with the mushrooms or the game. I’ll transfer money to President Fu and Yue Su — I’m definitely getting a good deal here.”
Yue Su didn’t refuse — that was the rule they had agreed on at the start.
Soon enough, she received ¥150 from Yi Xia. She assumed Fu Xijin got the same.
Glancing at her balance, Yue Su noted she still had ¥2450 left, likely making her the richest among all the guests.
“Teacher Yi, I found a patch of wild grapes earlier but didn’t have time to pick them. Let’s go together this afternoon,” Yue Su said.
She had no intention of keeping the find to herself — money was better earned together.
Yi Xia’s eyes lit up. “Wild grapes? You guys really are lucky.”
While Yuan Jin was sorting out the mushrooms, he chimed in, “Seriously, look at these matsutake mushrooms — huge! They’re super expensive on the market.”
Yue Su had filled a whole basket, treating them as if they weren’t worth much.
“Expensive, but incredibly fresh. I love mushrooms,” Yi Xia said, showing a rare childlike excitement.
Yue Su quickly suggested, “Why don’t we keep some for ourselves instead of selling them to the production crew? We can dry them too.”
This prompted Wang Qi’s exaggerated wail, “Su Su, have mercy on us hardworking folks!”
Everyone had been eyeing those mushrooms.
Yue Su couldn’t help laughing. “You could go pick some yourself.”
Qian Man shook his head dramatically and sighed, “If any of us could actually recognize edible mushrooms, we’d have done that already.”
The fear of accidentally picking poisonous ones was too real — nobody wanted to end up bedridden.
Yue Su finally said, “Brother Yuan, let’s keep some for ourselves, and sell the rest back to the crew.”
“Sounds good! I heard they made steamed buns today — perfect to swap for some staple food.”
The production team didn’t hire a chef, but among so many staff, there were naturally a few who could cook decently.
They weren’t short on supplies — they had all the flour they could want.
When Yuan Jin returned with the honey, the delicious smell of steamed buns wafted through the camp.
Yuan Jin handled the cooking, while Yue Su and Yi Xia sorted the mushrooms and prepared some for washing and slicing.
Even Fu Xijin helped process the game, while Jiang Wanting and Shen Junzai sat around doing nothing, clearly expecting a free meal.
【Are these two seriously acting like royalty now?】
【They didn’t contribute money or effort but are waiting to eat?】
【Not every celebrity is cut out for reality shows — their true nature is really showing.】
Some viewers defended them:
【It’s just a short rest. No need to blow things out of proportion.】
Even Jiang Wanting gradually realized that sitting around waiting to eat didn’t look good, but she didn’t know how to help.
Eventually, Yi Xia spoke up, “Wanting, are you and President Shen eating with us for lunch?”
Jiang Wanting froze for a moment. “Of course, didn’t we already agree?”
Yi Xia smiled. “Yes, we agreed — but it’s understood we hand over food ingredients.”
But Jiang Wanting and Shen Junzai had contributed neither food nor money — it didn’t make sense for them to eat for free.
Shen Junzai sneered, “I still have some bread. I won’t eat with you.”
He had no intention of letting Yue Su benefit in any way.
This left Jiang Wanting awkwardly standing there.
She had brought bread before, but it was all eaten.
She had bought another bag that morning, but her agent Chen Bi had eaten two rolls and still complained he was hungry — there was barely anything left.
As for money…
She glanced at her balance — only ¥250 left, as if mocking her.
Forcing a smile, she said, “Teacher Yi is right. I have two kids with me. I really shouldn’t eat for free. But… I don’t have enough money…”
Yi Xia didn’t know how to respond. Lack of money wasn’t everyone else’s problem.
But Jiang Wanting’s words clearly implied she expected Yue Su to generously say, “Don’t worry about it.”
Yue Su wasn’t that kind-hearted. She straightforwardly said, “Teacher Jiang, just transfer ¥150 to me. I’m sure President Fu won’t charge you. You’ll still have ¥100 left. This afternoon we’ll pick grapes — once the production team buys them, you’ll have money again.”
Jiang Wanting’s face turned as red as liver, but she could only grit her teeth and transfer the money.
Then she looked at Fu Xijin pitifully and said, “Ah Jin, can I owe you first?”
Fu Xijin lifted his eyes, not even looking at her, but rather at Yue Su, who had so casually spoken on his behalf.
He chuckled coldly, “No.”
Jiang Wanting’s hope of being waved off with a casual “forget it” was crushed. Her expression grew even more miserable, her heart sour with resentment.
Yue Su was clearly her nemesis.
If Yue Su stayed on the show, how could she keep filming?
Initially, some CP fans managed to dig out sweetness between Jiang Wanting and Fu Xijin, but after seeing this reality show, they couldn’t force it anymore.
Jiang Wanting might be full of tender feelings, but Fu Xijin was cold as ice — clearly a case of unrequited love.
【Are they really engaged? I have serious doubts.】
【Wanting should shine on her own. Stop acting so humble.】
【As a professional fan, I can’t watch this anymore. He doesn’t act like a fiancé at all.】
【LOL. If Jiang Wanting sees this, she’ll cry. You guys know how much endorsement money Whale Industries pays her annually, right?】
Some mocked:
【No matter how humble she looks, is she more humble than you, earning ¥3,000 a month?】
【Honestly, if President Fu gave me ¥1 million a year, I’d kowtow and call him Daddy!】
【I’d do it for ¥500,000!】
【Please don’t disrupt the market, thanks.】
Whether the engagement was real or not, with the title “President Fu’s fiancée,” Jiang Wanting thrived in the industry, snagging endless endorsements.
With such an advantage, how could she bear to let it go?
Yue Su didn’t bother worrying about Jiang Wanting’s feelings. She took the extra game and mushrooms and sold them to the production team.
The total came to ¥1580. For once, the usually stingy crew rounded up and paid ¥1600.
Splitting it with Fu Xijin, Yue Su earned ¥800.
She happily checked her balance — it had now risen to ¥3400.
Before Yuan Jin finished cooking, Yue Su grabbed Yao Yao and said, “Let’s go shopping, sweetheart!”
Yao Yao gasped, eyes wide.
“Mommy, are we rich now?”
Yue Su patted her pocket, her radiant face lively and dazzling, impossible to look away from.
“Rich enough! You can buy whatever you want!”
