The trending topics didn’t reach Yue Su’s ears.
She borrowed some baskets and scissors from the show crew, preparing to head out and pick wild grapes.
Unexpectedly, this guy, Shen Junzai, also tagged along.
Noticing Yue Su’s gaze, he sneered, “What, don’t want me to go?”
Yue Su curled her lips, “If I say no, will you just not go?”
Shen Junzai chuckled, mischievously adding, “If you don’t want me to go, that’s exactly why I’m going.”
With that, he stepped ahead into the forest before Yue Su.
Jiang Wanting kindly said, “Sorry, Yue Su, Mr. Shen is like that, his temper’s a bit bad.”
Yue Su shrugged, “I get it. He’s just a little sharp-tongued, but at heart, he’s still a jerk.”
She patted Jiang Wanting’s shoulder with a smile.
“People live a long life, who doesn’t encounter a few jerks?”
Jiang Wanting: “…”
Yi Xia couldn’t help but laugh.
“Let’s go quickly, Mr. Shen’s already disappeared.”
Yuan Jin thoughtfully asked, “Does he know where the wild grapes are?”
Yi Xia paused, “I don’t think so.”
Yuan Jin clicked his tongue, “Then why’s he running around? It’s not like we’re doing an 800m race.”
Yue Su didn’t bother with Shen Junzai anymore. She followed the path she remembered, heading straight towards the wild grape spot.
The group remained quiet on the way.
But as they ventured deeper into the forest, the towering trees created a canopy that blocked out the sun, making the place feel eerie.
Jiang Wanting walked behind Fu Xijin, her expression anxious.
“Xijin, there aren’t any wild animals in here, right? I’m a little scared.”
She reached for Fu Xijin’s arm, but he subtly avoided it.
Without turning around, he coolly said, “You can go back if you’re scared.”
Yue Su raised an eyebrow, thinking that Jiang Wanting really was thick-headed.
She suddenly remembered the crossbow bolts she had exchanged, wondering if she could use them to hunt. It was the perfect opportunity to try them out.
When she took the crossbow out, she realized she didn’t even know how to assemble it.
Yuan Jin leaned over. “You know how to use this?”
“I don’t,” Yue Su answered nonchalantly.
Yuan Jin: “…Then why did you buy it?”
Yue Su retorted, “If I don’t know, I can learn.”
Jiang Wanting bit her lip, thinking Yue Su just wanted Fu Xijin to teach her.
She made it sound like she wasn’t interested, but in reality, she was scheming to get closer to Fu Xijin.
It wasn’t just her thinking this—Yuan Jin and Yi Xia exchanged a glance, wondering who would speak first.
Then they watched as Yue Su took out her phone, opened the Douyin app, and searched for tutorials on using a crossbow.
Following the video guide, she successfully assembled the crossbow.
[Honestly thought she’d ask Mr. Fu for help…]
[Looks like we overestimated her, Yue Su’s really trying hard to keep her distance from Mr. Fu.]
[Yue Su did say she’s not involved with Mr. Fu, so can we stop with the shipper stuff? It’s boring.]
[And besides, she’s already married! Just look at her ex-husband’s looks, he’s definitely not bad.]
At first, the aim was a little off, but she still managed to fire the arrow.
Yi Xia smiled, “For her first try, it’s not bad. Looks like Yue Su has some talent.”
Yue Su smiled as she put away the crossbow. “I’ll practice more once we finish picking the grapes.”
After about twenty minutes, the group arrived at the wild grape area.
Clusters of wild grapes were everywhere, almost dazzling the eyes.
Even Shen Junzai couldn’t help but exclaim, “Are these really grapes? If we pick them all, can the crew really collect this much?”
Yue Su coldly replied, “We can’t pick all of them. We should leave some for the wildlife. We can pick half at most.”
Yao Yao nodded, “That’s right, Da Hei likes to eat them.”
Shen Junzai sneered, “They’re just wild, unclaimed things. I’ll pick as much as I want, you can’t tell me what to do.”
Yue Su gave him a sidelong glance, “If you weren’t my son, I wouldn’t care.”
Yao Yao’s eyes widened. “I don’t want such an ugly brother!”
Shen Junzai burst out laughing. “Where am I ugly? You can say I’m old, but not ugly!”
Yao Yao put her hands on her hips and shouted even louder, “I don’t like brothers with a lightbulb on their heads!”
Shen Junzai’s face twisted in anger. “I’m telling you, I’m keeping this brother position!”
Yue Su smiled at Yao Yao. “Good boy.”
Shen Junzai: “…”
Jiang Wanting chose to remain silent, having learned her lesson. Yue Su’s teasing really was relentless.
[Hahaha, Shen Junzai is really something.]
[I suspect he has a condition where he gets itchy if he doesn’t get scolded for a day.]
[His MBTI is probably only J, pure troublemaker.]
[Stop arguing, don’t you want to see them picking grapes? Doesn’t that sound interesting?]
Yue Su stopped paying attention to Shen Junzai and handed Yao Yao a small pair of scissors to pick the grapes from lower branches.
“Be careful, the scissors are sharp.”
Yao Yao smiled and reassured her, “Don’t worry, Mom, I’ll be careful.”
These wild grapes weren’t treated with pesticides, so everyone picked and ate them as they went along.
Shen Junzai and his son, however, were a different story—they only cared about eating.
Shen Mijin held a bunch of grapes, only picking the large ones to eat and tossing the rest aside, even stomping on them.
Yao Yao frowned, scolding him, “You’re wasting food, you can’t do that!”
Shen Mijin, wearing the same mischievous grin as his father, cheekily replied, “If you think it’s wasteful, you can pick them up and eat them.”
Yao Yao was about to argue but was stopped by Yue Su.
“Wasting food brings bad luck, let’s just ignore him.”
“Ha ha ha, only the powerless talk about bad luck!” Shen Mijin made a face at them.
After Yue Su scolded him, he not only didn’t listen, but he also went overboard, continuing to toss grapes to the ground and stepping on them, making the juice splatter everywhere.
Even Jiang Wanting couldn’t bear to watch anymore and suggested Shen Junzai teach him a lesson.
Shen Junzai only gave a cold glance and said indifferently, “Be careful.”
His indulgence fueled Shen Mijin’s mischief as he stomped even harder on the grapes, making a mess.
Shen Mijin provocatively looked at Yao Yao, holding up a bunch of grapes as if to show off. He tilted his head back, opening his mouth to eat.
The sun was blazing overhead, and he squinted his eyes, as though something flew by him.
Then—
Shen Mijin suddenly felt something sticky and foul enter his mouth.
He choked and gagged, but before he could react, he had already swallowed.
He dropped the grapes in shock and looked up, only to see a large bird hopping on the tree, seemingly taunting him.
The bird flapped its wings again, and—plop!—another lump of bird droppings landed perfectly on Shen Mijin’s head.
Shen Mijin froze for a moment, then reached up to feel it.
The sensation and smell…
He immediately started gagging, realizing that he had just swallowed bird poop.
“Ah! Dad!” Shen Mijin cried, his voice piercing the air. “I ate poop! I ate poop!”
Just as he tilted his head back to yell, another lump of poop fell from the sky and landed on his face.
Shen Mijin cried louder.
The livestream chat flooded with “hahaha” comments.
[Although it’s tragic, it’s so funny!]
[He’s just a kid, but don’t let him off the hook!]
[Yao Yao’s mouth is really lucky, karma’s here!]
