Chapter 41
“Sorry, I have no idea what you’re talking about…” Lin Feng looked at Liu Siming with confusion.
Liu Siming’s face immediately darkened. He coldly stared at Lin Feng, “Lin Feng, do you think you can deceive us?”
“We, the Special Operations Bureau, wouldn’t bother coming for you without sufficient evidence. I advise you to be sensible and willingly hand over the celestial secrets remnants!” Liu Siming’s tone carried a hint of threat.
Lin Feng shrugged, “Sorry, I don’t have it. Should I check the toilet for you?”
Upon hearing Lin Feng’s words, Liu Siming’s expression turned extremely grim.
“Lin Feng, it seems you’re asking for trouble!” Liu Siming said, gesturing to his two subordinates to approach and surround Lin Feng.
“What’s this? You’re the leader of the Special Warfare Bureau in Jiangnan City. Shouldn’t you at least show some restraint? If you resort to violence so easily, aren’t you afraid of being laughed at?” Lin Feng retorted,” Lin Feng retorted.
“Stop talking!” Liu Siming snorted. “Lin Feng, we’re here to ensure your safety. If you hand over the Celestial Diagram fragment now, the Celestial Sect won’t trouble you. If you refuse, the disciples of the Celestial Sect are ruthless. Soon, you won’t be as intact as you are now, they might skin you alive.” Liu Siming continued speaking while exerting pressure, closing in on Lin Feng.
Today, Lin Feng made him lose face, especially in front of Murong Mengxi, causing him great embarrassment.
“You’re called Liu Siming, right?” Lin Feng calmly looked at him. “Captain Liu, you have no evidence. What gives you the right to arrest me? This is a society governed by the rule of law!”
“Evidence?” Liu Siming sneered. “The Special Warfare Bureau is never short of evidence!”
With that, Liu Siming took out his phone, opened the Special Warfare Bureau’s forum, attempting to find the so-called evidence. However, after searching for a while, he couldn’t find anything.
There was only a direct notification stating that Lin Feng possessed the Celestial Diagram fragment, instructing him to ensure Lin Feng’s safety.
After waiting for a while and seeing Liu Siming’s hesitation, Lin Feng smiled. “Captain Liu, can’t find any evidence?”
“Who said that! This is the evidence!” Liu Siming placed the notification in front of Lin Feng. The latter examined it carefully and chuckled, “Captain Liu, if I’m not mistaken, this is just a notification, not actual evidence.”
“A notification is evidence. We, the Special Warfare Bureau, are authoritative. Once the notification is issued, you unquestionably have the Celestial Diagram’s fragment. If you don’t hand it over now, I’ll have to take action myself,” Liu Siming said, signaling his two subordinates to act.
“Stop!”
Just as the two subordinates were about to take action against Lin Feng, Murong Mengxi walked out, staring coldly at Liu Siming. “Captain Liu, if I remember correctly, you are here to assist me in protecting Lin Feng, right?”
“If you’re assisting me, then what are you doing now?” Murong Mengxi’s face darkened. “I am the leader of the Special Warfare Bureau in Jiangzhou. You’re on my territory, and apprehending someone in front of me is a bit too much, isn’t it?”
“Murong, you see…”
“Captain Liu, this is official business. Please mind your language. Besides, we’re not familiar in private, are we?” Murong Mengxi frowned, speaking coldly.
“Yes, yes, Captain Murong, I’ve learned my lesson,” Liu Siming nodded repeatedly. Then he turned to Lin Feng, “Lin Feng, since Captain Murong has spoken, I’ll give you another chance. Hand over the Celestial Diagram fragment yourself.”
“I don’t have it,” Lin Feng shook his head.
Liu Siming helplessly looked at Murong Mengxi. “Captain Murong, I’ve given him a chance. He doesn’t appreciate it, so according to the captain’s suggestion, we should protect Lin Feng now.”
“The enemy is in the dark, and we are in the light. If we follow him for protection, not only will it waste time and resources, but we might even fail in protecting him. I suggest implementing isolated protection for Lin Feng until he hands over the Celestial Diagram fragment and is out of danger from the Celestial Sect,” Liu Siming explained.
Liu Siming looked at Murong Mengxi solemnly.
“I disagree!” Murong Mengxi directly shook her head in refusal.
Liu Siming’s proposed closed isolation meant locking Lin Feng in a safe house or even a prison. Given the recent conflict between the two, Liu Siming would likely opt for imprisoning Lin Feng.
“Captain Murong, I respect your opinion,” Liu Siming smiled faintly.
Just when Murong Mengxi thought Liu Siming would drop the matter, he added, “Regarding the closed protection for Lin Feng, I will consult the captain. If the captain agrees, I will implement it immediately.”
Murong Mengxi’s expression changed.
She knew why Chu Beitian had sent Liu Siming. Liu Siming was personally groomed by Chu Beitian and could be considered one of Chu Beitian’s trusted confidants. Chu Beitian sent Liu Siming ostensibly to assist, but in reality, it was to monitor her.
“Lin Feng, I did my best,” Murong Mengxi quietly transmitted to Lin Feng.
Lin Feng smiled, indicating that he was fine.
On the other side, Liu Siming had already made a phone call.
“Captain, we have met Lin Feng. There is a slight difference of opinion with Captain Murong. I suggest implementing closed protection for Lin Feng until the threat is eliminated.”
There was silence on the other end of the phone for a moment, then two words were spoken.
“Agreed!”
Liu Siming deliberately put the phone on speaker, and everyone present heard the word “agreed.”
Lin Feng’s expression remained unchanged as he stared at Liu Siming. “Captain Liu, shouldn’t you ask for my opinion?”
“No need to ask. Assisting the Special Warfare Bureau is the duty and responsibility of every citizen,” Liu Siming replied. He then took out a pair of handcuffs and twirled them in his hand. “Lin Feng, I hope you get in the car yourself, rather than me forcing you.”
“I’m going to call the police. This is illegal!” Lin Feng, with a serious expression, took out his phone to make a call.
Liu Siming remained unfazed. “Go ahead, it’s my phone that will ring anyway.”
Lin Feng: “…”
This time, seeing Lin Feng not cooperating, Liu Siming moved directly to capture him.
Just as Liu Siming was about to grab Lin Feng, a sudden gust of wind struck.
Powerful wind blew Liu Siming several meters away, but the others were unaffected.
“Wind?” Liu Siming murmured, then his face turned dark. “Didn’t expect the Supernatural Ability Division to join in the fun! Since you’re here, come out and show yourselves.”
Ability Division?
Lin Feng was puzzled. Wasn’t that one of the three major forces in the Dragon Pavilion?
Special Warfare Bureau, Ability Division, and Xuanling Sect.
“Liu Siming, you’re quite skilled. I never expected to find a rat like you in the Special Operations Bureau. It seems Chu Beitian isn’t doing well.” From a distance, a disdainful voice echoed.
Everyone turned their eyes towards the source.
A young man was holding a phone, recording the entire scene.
