【Congratulations, Host, on receiving the reward: 20 Points, Floor: Refreshing, Hanging Ornament: Lingering Whisper.】
【Floor: Refreshing: Made from the bark of the Joyful Wood tree. Walking on it can eliminate fatigue and increase comfort.】
【Hanging Ornament: Lingering Whisper: When hung indoors, it can appropriately absorb noise, keeping the sound level of the entire space within a comfortable range for the human ear.】
Zhao Xing nodded in satisfaction. “This is good. The guests have been enjoying chatting in the main hall lately, and it does get a bit noisy when there are a lot of people.”
He was currently standing by the bed in his room.
Gui Mei was resting on the bed. Although she hadn’t woken up yet, her complexion was much better than before.
Just then, footsteps sounded from upstairs.
Ling Yuan was walking down.
Zhao Xing poked his head out curiously. “Huh? You’re still here? I thought you left today. Why didn’t you come down for breakfast this morning?”
The word “breakfast” made Ling Yuan’s steps falter for a second. He had indeed left for a while in the morning; after all, there were other matters in the myriad realms that required his attention.
But just now, he had sensed the arrival of another otherworldly guest and had come to see.
Ling Yuan bowed with perfect etiquette. “Thank you for your concern, shopkeeper. I am not hungry.” He used the opportunity to glance up.
The System felt a chilling gaze, as if it were being looked at directly, but before it could react, the feeling was gone.
The System was baffled. Was it malfunctioning again? But it had scheduled a full diagnostic with the main system before, and they hadn’t found any problems…
Ling Yuan lowered his eyes in disappointment. Still no cleaning items. He remembered that cleaning items were supposed to be the easiest to obtain.
In contrast, items like wooden walls and windows were harder to get. Why was it the opposite for this person…
Zhao Xing, clueless, asked if he was hungry, saying there was still some cured fish left over from the other day.
Ling Yuan’s face remained impassive, but he departed at twice the speed he had arrived.
Zhao Xing was even more confused, but he didn’t dwell on it. As long as Ling Yuan stayed here for a day, he would get a day’s worth of points, so he didn’t really care.
While the other guests were still out digging for wild vegetables, he opened the system inventory and installed the two new items.
When Gui Mei woke up, she heard a pleasant voice saying, “This flooring is really something. Walking on this wood floor is more comfortable than carpet. No joke, my feet have been aching from exhaustion these past few days, and just walking a few steps has really helped…”
Gui Mei blinked. She remembered what had happened before she passed out and couldn’t help but call out again, “Veridian God…”
Hearing her voice, Zhao Xing said, “Oh? You’re awake. Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?”
Gui Mei struggled to sit up. “A-are you the Veridian God?”
Zhao Xing was speechless. “What’s with you? If you call me a virgin again, I’m going to get angry, you hear me? How can a young lady like you talk like that…”
Gui Mei was stunned. “No, what I mean is, the divine soul of Veridian has descended again to help us…”
Zhao Xing, however, was secretly tapping open her panel.
【Name: Gui Mei
Reception Points: 100 Points/Visit
Favorability: 0
Experience: From an ABO world, she is a precious Omega. She was originally the youngest daughter of the Imperial Minister of Finance.
After graduating with honors from the Bridal Academy, she was set to be married to the heir of another family.
By chance, she discovered the truth about the Bridal Academy: it only accepts Omega students.
Omegas of noble birth are taught etiquette, music, and art to become tools for arranged marriages.
Omegas of common birth, however, are imprisoned and used as breeding tools, losing their freedom forever.
Unable to bear this sight, she found an opportunity to rescue these commoner Omegas and fled the imperial capital.
She is currently the leader of the Omega Rights Organization and is being hunted by the entire empire.
PS: Her organization now has only twenty-four members remaining.
Likes: Clear Rhyme Tea Set】
This was the longest character introduction Zhao Xing had seen so far.
After reading it, he sighed. This girl had it rough. He secretly asked the System, “Since the Clear Rhyme Tea Set can treat her… whatever that pheromone disorder is, can she take some with her later? Or does it only work when it’s just been poured from the pot?”
“You can, Host,” the System replied. “As long as the tea is from the Clear Rhyme Tea Set, it will be effective at any time.”
Gui Mei also gradually came to her senses.
Looking around, she finally understood that she had probably had some kind of fortuitous encounter, accidentally entering a spatial passage and arriving here.
As for Zhao Xing…
She looked at the robed youth opposite her, recalling the fragrant liquid that had been poured into her mouth before she lost consciousness.
She was still doubtful. Was he really not the Veridian God? She had grown up in the noble circles of the empire and had never heard of an oral medicine that could alleviate a pheromone disorder.
Moreover, feeling the long-lost comfort and ease in her body, it wasn’t just that the pheromone disorder had been alleviated; it had even cleared out the toxins left behind by the inferior inhibitors she had used before. Was that even possible?
Perhaps only the Veridian God could do it…
But recalling Zhao Xing’s somewhat exasperated expression from before, Gui Mei ultimately didn’t dare to address him that way again.
She just said cautiously, “Thank you for saving my life. I currently have nothing to repay you with…”
【Guest Gui Mei’s Favorability +50】
【Congratulations, Host, on receiving a reward!】
Zhao Xing waved his hand, still a bit curious. “That ‘virgin’ thing you said before… you weren’t insulting me, were you?”
This girl was from a noble family and had attended that Bridal Academy. She probably wouldn’t know that kind of insult, right?
Gui Mei was taken aback. “Of course not!”
She tried to figure out what Zhao Xing meant. The Veridian God couldn’t possibly not know his own story.
Could it be that he really wasn’t him? Or perhaps, he wanted to hear his own story from someone else’s lips?
Gui Mei said cautiously, “The Veridian God is a legend among us Omegas, but we all believe he truly exists!”
“Legend has it that there was a person named Veridian. He was not of any of the ABO genders, but he believed that all Omegas in the galaxy lived very hard lives. Therefore, he developed a medicine. With just one sip of this medicine, an Omega would no longer be troubled by heats or pheromone disorders, nor would they need an Alpha’s mark. They could walk openly in the sun, live independently…
“Not only that, but he would also travel throughout the galaxy, saving those Omegas who were helpless due to pheromone disorders, protecting them from harm…”
Zhao Xing listened to the story, stroking his chin. He felt that this ABO setting was a bit… risqué.
This Veridian guy stops people from getting frisky. No wonder his name sounds like “virgin.” No other name would have the same flavor!
After telling the story that was known throughout the galaxy, Gui Mei looked at Zhao Xing with anticipation, desperately wanting to ask: Are you the Veridian God?
Zhao Xing didn’t pick up on her thoughts. He just said, “Well, you should get some rest. I’ll get a room ready for you so you can have a good night’s sleep.”
Gui Mei was a little disappointed, but she quickly shook her head. “Thank you for your kindness, but I must return quickly. We have a child who is sick, and I came out to find medicine for him. Besides, they will worry if I’m back late.”
Zhao Xing thought of their Omega Rights Organization, which was down to just twenty-four members. “Alright then. I’ll pack you some food to take with you. Your diet should be similar to ours, right? Oh, and the tea…”
He went back to the kitchen and rummaged around, finding an empty 3-liter bottle. He filled it up, pot by pot, with tea from the tea set until it was full. He then found a bag and packed them a dozen sweet potato buns and some pickles.
It wasn’t that he didn’t want to give them something better, but the landlord himself had no surplus grain.
Zhao Xing came back with the items and handed them to Gui Mei. “You remember this tea, right? It’s the one you drank before. It should be able to treat your… whatever that pheromone disorder is. Since you have an invitation, you can come back and find me when you run out of tea…”
He rambled on for a bit.
Gui Mei blinked, took the still-warm bottle, and suddenly had a strong feeling in her heart.
He is Veridian! He is the God of Omegas! He has come back to save us!
Gui Mei’s eyes reddened slightly, and she quickly lowered her head to hide it.
【Guest Gui Mei’s Favorability +30】
【Congratulations, Host, on receiving a reward!】
Zhao Xing had already finished speaking, but spurred on by the notification, he remembered something else and added, “We have a saying here, I don’t know if it applies to you, but there is no struggle without bloodshed. When facing your enemies, you have to be a little ruthless. I’m just saying this casually, it’s up to you whether you want to listen.”
From his interaction with this girl, Zhao Xing felt that her personality was a bit soft.
Combined with her backstory, he guessed that she had probably only intended to save those few Omegas at first, and then, by a strange twist of fate, had been pushed into becoming the leader of the organization.
Plus, with their group down to only twenty-four members and being hunted by the entire empire, they were likely in a state of defeat.
Gui Mei blinked. “Are you saying that we have been too merciful to our enemies?”
In fact, when she first started with those Omegas, all they had asked for was a place to live in peace.
They had once communicated with the empire, hoping they could be given a planet, even an abandoned one, where Omegas could grow up safely and, upon reaching adulthood, decide for themselves whether to marry and have children.
That was all they asked for, but they were refused. From then on, they had been hunted…
Gui Mei nodded thoughtfully. “I understand what you mean. I, and we, will work hard!”
So, this is why the Veridian God is unwilling to reveal his identity. He will no longer help us unconditionally as he did in the legend. He wants us to work hard ourselves, to fight for ourselves…
But looking at the bottle of tea in her hands, Gui Mei’s eyes suddenly curved into a smile.
Even so, he can’t let go of us. Just like a parent who, no matter how harsh their words are, can’t help but secretly lend a hand when their child is learning to walk independently.
This is the Veridian God I believe in!
Zhao Xing looked at her, puzzled. “System, what do you think she’s thinking? She’s not secretly cursing me and calling me a virgin again, is she?”
System: “…” I have absolutely nothing to say.
Before leaving, Gui Mei suddenly remembered something. She took a small, palm-sized robot out of her bag. “This is for you. Consider it… consider it payment for the meal. You’re running a guesthouse, aren’t you?”
Since this was the Veridian God’s little game, of course she had to play along.
Zhao Xing didn’t refuse. He took it in his hand and fiddled with it. “What is this? How do you use it?”
Gui Mei picked up the tea and buns and stepped out of the guesthouse’s range. “It’s very simple for you. It can assist you in processing some network information, and it has a small attack function. Just press the little hat on its head to fire a light cannon. But don’t worry, its power can only blow up half a mountain.”
She waved and disappeared beyond the space. “Thank you! I look forward to seeing you next time.”
Zhao Xing instantly dropped the small robot. He was on the verge of tears.
How the hell is that supposed to be reassuring?!
