“My Husband Faked His Death, So I Remarried His Commander and Followed Him into the Army” Chapter 35

Chapter 35: Telling Su Qingshuang About the Existence of the Space

Right after Gu Qiangwei finished speaking, a customer walked in.

Although Su Qingshuang was very curious, she thought about how Gu Qiangwei had never done anything unreliable before, so she didn’t question her further.

The two of them went to serve the customer.

That night, after finishing work and cleaning the shop, they dragged their tired bodies home.

Su Jianbin had already prepared dinner. “I saw that you two were out late and figured you must be busy today, so I made some food. You should eat first!”

Hearing that, the two sat down and started eating right away.

Though the food didn’t taste as good as Gu Qiangwei’s cooking, for the two of them who were starving, it was a delicious feast.

After the meal, Su Qingshuang rubbed her belly and said, “Dad, I feel like your cooking has really improved lately!”

Su Jianbin chuckled, “You’ve both been so busy these days that you probably haven’t been eating properly. That’s why you think my cooking is better.”

Su Qingshuang nodded in agreement.

Gu Qiangwei smiled and thanked him.

“What’s there to thank me for? That sauce you made for me—I use it every morning for breakfast,” Su Jianbin replied.

After a bit more chatting, the girls were ready to head to bed. Gu Qiangwei went into Su Qingshuang’s room.

Su Jianbin didn’t think much of it. He read the newspaper for a while and then went to sleep.

“I have a secret to tell you about the warehouse,” Gu Qiangwei said. She held Su Qingshuang’s hand and, with a blink, the two of them entered the space.

All the miscellaneous items inside had already been cleared by Gu Qiangwei and piled into a corner.

As soon as Su Qingshuang entered, she saw a field and nothing else. She was confused—hadn’t she just been in her bedroom?

Was she dreaming?

“Xiaoshuang, this is my space,” Gu Qiangwei suddenly said.

Su Qingshuang turned to look at her. “What do you mean by ‘space’?”

“It means this place belongs to me. That field appeared out of nowhere recently, and I don’t know what else might show up later on.”

“For now, it’s just a field on a flat empty land. I’m planning to buy some seeds and plant vegetables so it doesn’t go to waste.”

“We can also place some boxes here to store our clothes, that way they won’t get dirty. This space can serve as a warehouse.”

After Gu Qiangwei explained everything, Su Qingshuang stared wide-eyed, completely in disbelief.

She had never seen anything like this before.

“Can you take me out again?”

Su Qingshuang asked, and Gu Qiangwei held her hand. The two of them returned to their bedroom.

They repeated the process a few times, and only after that did Su Qingshuang pinch her own arm.

“Ow!” she cried.

It really hurt, which meant she wasn’t dreaming. This was all real.

Gu Qiangwei truly had a space.

It all sounded a bit fantastical, but it really existed.

“This is incredible!”

“This space is amazing!”

Once she fully processed everything, Su Qingshuang didn’t doubt a thing. She grabbed Gu Qiangwei’s hand and jumped up and down with excitement. “Your idea just now was genius! You’re amazing!”

After they settled down, they agreed that for now, the space would be used as a warehouse.

Back in the room, Su Qingshuang took Gu Qiangwei’s hand and said seriously, “You have to be careful. Don’t go telling others about this space. If anyone else finds out, it could be dangerous!”

“If I had bad intentions, you’d be in big trouble, don’t you think?”

Looking at Su Qingshuang’s serious expression, Gu Qiangwei thought of how she had once shielded her in her past life.

“I’m not worried—because I trust you completely. That’s why I told you this secret.”

Su Qingshuang was overjoyed to hear that.

“Then you really can’t tell anyone else!”

“Sometimes things like this do happen, but if you tell someone and they report you, they might accuse you of being a spy or something.”

Strange things like this were often best kept secret.

Gu Qiangwei nodded.

“What vegetables do you like to eat most? In a few days, we can go buy some seeds and plant them in the space.”

“That field is really magical. You just have to put the seeds in and it plants and grows them automatically. You don’t even need to water them—it just grows on its own until it’s ready to harvest!”

Su Qingshuang’s eyes widened in amazement. “That magical?”

“Then I have to see it with my own eyes!”

“This is so incredible!”

Seeing her so animated, Gu Qiangwei laughed out loud. “Then tell me what vegetables you like!”

“How about we get some baby bok choy and tomatoes?”

“We could even grow some aquatic plants in the corner.”

The field wasn’t small, so they could try growing both water plants and vegetables. It was their first time, so they could treat it as an experiment.

“Sounds good!”

Gu Qiangwei nodded, and the two agreed to buy seeds together in a few days when they weren’t busy.

The spring fashion craze quickly faded. From an initial surge in business, things began to calm down, but Gu Qiangwei and Su Qingshuang had already come to terms with it.

Even after business leveled out, their daily revenue still averaged around 25 yuan, which they were both very satisfied with.

Back when they first started, 15 yuan was considered stable, so this was definitely an improvement.

They believed their business would only get better in the future.

With things stabilizing, they began designing summer clothes, bags, accessories, and shoes.

Sometimes Su Qingshuang would sketch out designs for the bags, since Gu Qiangwei had said some pieces needed matching elements. That way, when people bought clothes, they’d be tempted to buy the matching bag too.

That was the secret to creating a full matching set.

So during their free time, the two of them would work on this together.

One day, they finished work early and went to buy seeds and a few saplings. Once back in the space, they couldn’t wait to put the seeds into the machine.

The machine came to life before their eyes.

It automatically sowed the seeds, then began slowly irrigating the field with a controlled flow of water.

Fertilizer was also automatically applied by the machine.

Watching the fully automated process, Su Qingshuang walked around in disbelief, trying to observe every little detail.

As she watched, she exclaimed, “This is too incredible! I’ve never seen anything like it!”

“Do you think the vegetables and plants grown here will taste even better?”

Gu Qiangwei smiled. Actually, she had only tried planting once in her past life and couldn’t even remember what the vegetables had tasted like.

Back then, her business had already been going well, and with in-laws to care for, she always wanted to provide them with the best life.

Since the space only had that one field, she didn’t think too much of it.

“Once they’re ripe, we’ll taste them and find out. I really don’t know either!”

After saying that, she gave Su Qingshuang’s hand a tug. “You’re really amazing!”

“I’m not amazing—I don’t even know where this space came from. It’s just always been there. And that field only appeared recently. I have no idea why.”

To be honest, Gu Qiangwei always suspected it might be related to Su Qingyi, but she couldn’t say exactly how.

“It doesn’t matter! If there’s something useful, we use it. If not, we just treat it like a big warehouse. That’s great too!”

Su Qingshuang was easygoing about it, and Gu Qiangwei agreed. The two reached an understanding.

After spending a bit more time in the space, they came out.

That day, Su Jianbin wasn’t coming home, so Gu Qiangwei made Su Qingshuang a steaming bowl of zhajiang noodles.

After taking a bite, Su Qingshuang gave her a big thumbs up. “My brother would definitely love your cooking.”

Hearing Su Qingyi’s name mentioned out of the blue, Gu Qiangwei blinked.

“Why?”

Su Qingshuang answered casually while eating, “My brother used to be a picky eater when he was a kid. Later on, he grew out of it, but he still has his favorite foods.”

“Whether it’s your dumplings, your meat fillings, or these noodles you just made, I’m sure he’d love them all.”
