Chapter 7: Could it be that his space is no longer safe?
As soon as Qiu Yinuo entered the “Library Pavilion,” she couldn’t help but curse aloud.
“Damn!”
“Damn, damn!”
Where is her Library Pavilion?
Before her was a vast landscape, with rolling green mountains stretching endlessly in the distance. The nearest spring was gushing with water, making a continuous tinkling sound.
In the far distance stood an exquisite pavilion, soaring into the clouds.
Through the faint clouds, she could make out the pavilion’s intricately designed eaves, its lines delicate and refined. Against the backdrop of the blue sky and white clouds, anyone unfamiliar with it might think it was a place where some immortal was cultivating.
Qiu Yinuo had a bold guess — the pavilion might very well be her Library Pavilion.
However, her Library Pavilion had seemed like a single story, while this pavilion had several layers, suggesting it was no simple one-story structure.
Thinking about this, she quickened her steps and approached the pavilion.
The plaque above the door was engraved with the words “Library Pavilion” in seal script. Qiu Yinuo was faster than her thoughts and immediately pushed open the large door.
The familiar furnishings inside made her uncontrollably excited. “This is a jackpot! My Library Pavilion has upgraded!”
She had obtained the Library Pavilion before preparing to study abroad. At first, she planned to focus on her studies in college and try to read all the books in the pavilion.
However, her older brother and sister-in-law passed away unexpectedly, and Qiu Yinuo had to give up on her dream university abroad and chose a local university instead.
On one hand, it allowed her to take care of her nephew, and on the other hand, it didn’t interfere with managing her own company.
She was so busy every day that she barely had time to sleep, let alone read, so she hadn’t even finished one bookshelf of books.
Looking around, she noticed a staircase leading to the second floor in the southwest corner. Qiu Yinuo hurriedly ran upstairs.
The heavy double doors were engraved with exquisite patterns. She reached out to push them, but they didn’t budge an inch.
Could it be that she wasn’t using enough force?
Although she didn’t have as much strength as Qingqing, she believed her own strength was considerable.
She pushed with more force, but the door still didn’t move.
“What kind of door is this? Why is it so heavy?”
“I’m exhausted, my hands are red now.”
“Damn it, the harder it is to get in, the more curious I become.”
Shao Xingchen was woken up by his mother talking to herself. He tried to rub his eyes, hoping to see things more clearly.
But he had forgotten that people from this era liked to tie children’s small arms together, so he couldn’t move at all.
He could only turn his little head, looking for his mother, but when he didn’t see Qiu Yinuo, he was momentarily stunned.
Just then, the next sound came: his mother kicking the door in frustration. “What’s going on? It turns out my level isn’t high enough.”
“What? I need to finish reading all the books on the first floor before the second floor opens?”
Shao Xingchen looked horrified. This voice didn’t seem to be coming from outside the door but from inside his head.
It was over. His space’s secret couldn’t be kept any longer.
Since the time he had crossed over, Shao Xingchen had been afraid to casually enter his space. He was worried that others would notice when he suddenly disappeared and then reappeared. Things that couldn’t be explained might lead to strange occurrences, and he might even be burned alive.
He never expected that his mother in this world could actually enter his space.
Could it be that his space was only accessible to those with a blood relation?
In his previous life, he was an orphan, so he had never tried this out.
He glanced at his sleeping little brother and decided that when no one was around, he would take him out for a stroll.
“Forget it, forget it. If I can’t get in, I can’t get in. I still got a free space; in the end, it’s still a win for me.”
Shao Xingchen looked like he was in pain. It wasn’t that she had gotten a free space—this space clearly belonged to him.
Now that it no longer belonged solely to him, it was painful to think about.
Afraid that his mother might suddenly emerge from the space and notice something was wrong, he quickly shut his eyes and pretended to sleep.
At that moment, his mind was filled with thoughts about his space being divided in two, and he unconsciously forgot why his mother knew about something like a space.
After emerging from the space, Qiu Yinuo saw that both little ones were still asleep, and she sighed in relief.
However, her eldest son had an expression on his face that made it look like he was crying in his sleep, and she couldn’t understand it at all.
Suddenly, she remembered how her nephew had cried like a dog in his sleep when he was just born.
Her sister-in-law’s mother had once said that when babies slept, the “Dream Granny” would teach them skills in their dreams. If they learned them, they would be praised by the Dream Granny and smile. But if they couldn’t learn, they would be criticized and cry.
Could it be that this little guy was being criticized by the Dream Granny for being too slow to learn?
Thinking of this, Qiu Yinuo couldn’t help but smile.
She kissed her eldest son’s little face and whispered, “Don’t worry, even if you’re slow, you’re still my precious.”
The kiss caught Shao Xingchen completely off guard, and he forgot that the space was no longer solely his.
Especially since, after living two lives, it was the first time anyone had ever called him “precious.”
The joy that rose in his heart made him unconsciously smile, even without opening his eyes.
Damn!
He was actually called “precious”!
It was so cheesy, yet it made his heart bloom. It turned out that a child with a mother really was a treasure!
Seeing that Shao Xingchen smiled again, Qiu Yinuo also became happy. It seemed that he had learned something, and the Dream Granny had praised him.
Ah, children are so much fun.
Soon, the little guy’s joy turned into distress. One kick of his leg and he wet himself.
His lower body was soaked, and the urine soaked through the diaper, creating an uncomfortable feeling.
Shao Xingchen could now hum to express his intent, and Qiu Yinuo frowned in disgust. “You didn’t pee again, did you?”
“…” Correct. He wanted to be picked up, not stay on the damp blanket.
Despite her reluctance, Qiu Yinuo had to steel herself and change the diaper. The smell of urine nearly drove her crazy. “Who the hell said babies’ pee doesn’t smell? Oh my god, this smell is overwhelming.”
Shao Xingchen, his face red from embarrassment, couldn’t speak. Otherwise, he would have asked her, “Just now, you called me your precious. What’s wrong with changing my diaper?”
Qiu Yinuo threw the soiled diaper into a large basin and was just finishing changing the eldest’s diaper when the second one started making noises.
Hearing that, she instantly got goosebumps. “Wait, wait! Let me grab a potty, then you can go!”
She rushed out of bed and instinctively tried to push open the door to run outside, but she had locked it during her nap.
She stopped pushing the door, her body automatically trying to rush out.
She almost hit her face on the door, then frantically searched for a potty.
When she opened her youngest’s diaper, an awful, sour smell hit her face.
She dry-heaved a couple of times, tears welling up in her eyes. The smell was truly overwhelming!
She wished she could just die!
