Chapter 11: Turning
“Fox spirit, you’re flirting again!”
The beauty unexpectedly dropped her gentle demeanor and snapped, “You blind date maniac! Are you dragging someone else to go on a blind date with you again?”
She glanced at Mo Sheng.
“She’s much prettier than you! You’re just going to be a wallflower and never get married!”
The two of them actually started arguing like this. Mo Sheng was stunned and awkwardly greeted Yi Chen, “Hi!”He looked very unhappy.
Of course, no one would be happy if their girlfriend was called a vixen.
“Uh, I’m sorry, that’s just how she is. She says things without really meaning them,” Mo Sheng said, trying to smooth things over on behalf of the Flower Fairy.
Yi Chen’s eyes darkened, his voice so cold it could freeze ice.
“You want to go on a blind date?”
“Uh, yes…” Mo Sheng hesitated, but her uncertain attitude made it seem like a definite yes.
He said nothing, merely stared at her with a gloomy expression before turning away.
“Yi Chen, wait for me!” The beautiful woman who had been arguing with the Flower Fairy immediately abandoned the fight and hurried after him.
Mo Sheng was momentarily unable to process her feelings because the Flower Fairy’s expression was really strange—she was actually… crying?
The Flower Fairy! The mischievous troublemaker who played tricks every day was crying?
“Xiaohong, you cry when you can’t win an argument? That’s shameful.”
“What do you know?!” The Flower Fairy glared at her with tear-filled eyes.
“She stole my first boyfriend.”Uh… this was deep hatred! Mo Sheng immediately empathized and patted her on the shoulder.
“There are plenty of fish in the sea. Let’s find a good one tonight to piss her off!”
“I’m not mad at her for stealing the guy I liked. I’m mad because she took him and didn’t cherish him. She caused him to have a car accident, then abandoned him because of his broken leg. How could she do that?! And why does he still love someone like her? Why doesn’t he like me? Is it because I’m not as pretty as her?”
Mo Sheng was stunned. She never expected that the Flower Fairy, always so cheerful and playful, had such a painful story. Was it true that the people who seemed the happiest on the outside were often the most fragile inside?
Because they had spent so much time comforting her, both of them were late for their plans.
Mo Sheng didn’t have time to put on her usual ugly makeup, and the Flower Fairy was in a rare low mood, making her unusually quiet.
The result?
Two excellent surgeons were actually interested in them?!Oh my god! Was this a blessing in disguise?
Due to the men’s excessive enthusiasm, the four of them ended up going to a movie, singing karaoke, and having a midnight snack. It was already past eleven by the time they headed home.
As Mo Sheng finally saw her apartment building in sight, she breathed a sigh of relief.
“Doctor Zheng, I’m home. Thank you for walking me back.”
“Oh.” Dr. Zheng, who had been talking about heart disease the entire way, finally stopped and said gentlemanly, “Good night, Miss Zhao. I had a great time today.”
“I did too! Good night!” Mo Sheng smiled and waited for him to leave before heading upstairs.
The corridor lights were broken, making the hallway dim. She walked to the door of her apartment on the fourth floor and fumbled for her key. Suddenly, a tall, dark figure appeared in her sight. Mo Sheng jumped in fright, and the key fell to the ground with a thud.
“You…”Before she could finish her sentence, she was pulled into a firm embrace. Her defenseless lips were seized, mercilessly ravaged by his kisses.
His lips traveled down to her neck, as if he was pouring out all of his suppressed emotions. His hands tore at her collar. She felt a cool breeze, but the sensation was immediately swallowed by the heat of his lips and tongue.
Before Mo Sheng could even react, she was caught in this unexpected confusion. There was a faint hint of alcohol in the air.Alcohol?
He was drunk!Mo Sheng snapped back to her senses and called out in a breathless voice, “Yi Chen!”His movements halted. He remained still, his head buried in the crook of her neck, breathing heavily.
After a long while, she heard his hoarse voice whisper, “I lost.”
