My Sunshine
My Sunshine Chapter 26

Xiu Se was a long-standing leader in the women’s magazine market, consistently ranking number one in sales among its competitors. However, despite maintaining its top position last quarter, the magazine’s market share had been gradually declining.

After praising each department for their performance in the previous quarter, the editor-in-chief got straight to the main issue: introducing new content.

“If we want Xiu Se to stand out,” the editor-in-chief began, “we need something unique. Right now, the market is saturated with similar women’s magazines, and they all cover the same topics—beauty, fashion, food, love, lifestyle. What else can we offer that’s different?”

Looking around the room, she asked, “Or put another way, what else are women interested in?”

“I know!” Xiaohong said enthusiastically, raising her hand.

“Men.”

Everyone burst into laughter.

The editor-in-chief smiled and nodded, “Xiaohong may seem a bit rough around the edges, but she has a sharp intuition.” She then opened a slide presentation, revealing the new feature column titled “Elite Men.” The room buzzed with curious murmurs.

“But we’re a women’s magazine,” someone questioned. “Isn’t it odd to feature men?”

“Well,” the editor countered, “men’s magazines often use women on their covers to attract attention—so why shouldn’t women’s magazines write about men?”

After some discussion, the editor-in-chief added, “Ultimately, the market will decide. We’re planning to run four trial issues of this column and see how readers respond before making it permanent. If anyone has feedback, we’re open to it.”

“What about the featured men?” someone asked.

“I’ve shortlisted four candidates,” the editor replied, clicking to reveal four photos of young men on the screen. “These aren’t billionaire heirs or unreachable celebrities—they’re successful professionals from various fields. They’re relatively well-known, young, accomplished, and most importantly—handsome and single.”

“Isn’t that the architect who just won an award?”

“Yeah! The guy on the left looks familiar too.”

As the staff commented on the photos, Mo Sheng’s eyes locked onto the man in the top right corner. Her heart skipped a beat. How could it be him?

“Hey, isn’t that the guy in the upper right corner the guest host of Legal Time, Lawyer He Yichen?”

“That’s right,” the editor confirmed. “Anyone who watches the provincial channel should recognize him. He’s a guest presenter, and the show gets great ratings.”

“We should definitely feature him in the first issue,” senior editor Li suggested. “He’s already been on TV, so he’s recognizable and will attract readers.”

“Yeah, didn’t he recently win a high-profile economic lawsuit? That case was all over the news—perfect for boosting our sales.”

“Honestly, it’s not just about fame—he’s also far more attractive than the other three. Women will be drawn to his looks alone,” another editor chimed in.

The editor-in-chief nodded. “I agree completely.”
