Zhao Hanya glanced at her with amusement but didn’t say much.
After all, this was someone else’s private matter—there was no reason to shamelessly stay behind.
Just as Zhao Hanya was about to take Lin Yuxin and leave, a large group of men suddenly entered in a grand procession.
Lin Yuxin took a closer look and was astonished to see her scumbag father, her eldest and second brothers, and even the Prince Regent, whom she had previously met at Shiya Pavilion!
Her eyes immediately lit up!
[Hahaha! Looks like I don’t have to leave now!!]
“What’s going on? The servants said there was a fire!!”
The Prime Minister strode in behind the Prince Regent, his expression urgent as he asked his wife.
“My lord, the servants said there was a fire, but when I arrived, I only saw a small pile of burning leaves and the small kitchen in Weiwei’s courtyard being burned down. Nothing else.”
Madam Bai was helpless—so many important people were here that she had no choice but to report truthfully.
She pointed at the corner where a pile of leaves had been mostly burned, still emitting black smoke, along with a small courtyard kitchen that had been reduced to ashes.
[Wait, didn’t I only set fire to that pile of leaves? How did that small kitchen catch fire too?? Could it be that even the heavens are helping me???]
Lin Yuxin looked at the small burned house in the courtyard with confusion.
“Who did this? Wait, what’s that sound??”
Just as the Prime Minister was about to get angry, a strange noise caught his attention.
Some of the men who had entered earlier had already heard it but remained silent.
Lin Shaoyang and Lin Chenglie also heard it.
They exchanged glances before looking at their little sister, a strong hunch forming in their minds.
[You’re only noticing now, Father? The rice has already been cooked! No need to thank me! Now, no matter what, the Crown Prince has to be your son-in-law, right?!]
Lin Chenglie clearly heard her internal monologue and instantly realized what had happened.
His face turned pale!
Just a few days ago, he had learned from his sister that Bai Weiwei had been deliberately stringing him along.
But after longing for her all these years, to now find her with another man…
How could he possibly ignore this?
[Oh no, big brother’s expression looks bad—did he figure it out? But there’s no other way. Bai Weiwei has been involved with the Crown Prince for a long time while still toying with my brother. She’s truly vile! Instead of letting her harm my brother, it’s better to end this early.]
[So, big brother, short-term pain is better than long-term suffering. I’ll find you a good wife who genuinely loves you in the future!]
Seeing her brother’s dark expression, Lin Yuxin felt a little guilty.
But for his sake, she had to be the villain this time!
“This…!”
Madam Bai hesitated.
The Prime Minister, sensing something amiss, pushed his wife aside and strode forward, followed closely by a group of eager onlookers.
“Well, well, I’m going to see for myself which shameless adulterers dared to commit such indecency in my Prime Minister’s residence!”
As he rounded the rock garden, the Prime Minister was met with a scandalous sight—two bare bodies entwined, still going at it passionately, completely unaware of their surroundings.
“Guards! Separate them immediately!!”
The Prime Minister roared in fury.
The servants nearby rushed forward to pull the two apart.
Only then did everyone clearly see who they were.
“The… The Crown Prince???”
“Bai Weiwei??”
At that moment, the gathered officials immediately averted their gazes, not daring to look any longer.
Internally, they were all panicking—if the Emperor found out about this scandal involving the future Crown Princess, they would all be implicated!
They regretted coming to watch the drama unfold.
Only the Prince Regent and Lin Yuxin seemed unaffected.
[Wow, those two were really going at it! When I left earlier, Bai Weiwei’s body wasn’t in such bad shape. Now, she doesn’t have a single unmarked spot… So, the Crown Prince is into this kind of thing, huh?]
Lin Shaoyang and Lin Chenglie’s mouths twitched.
It seemed they needed to take some time to teach their little sister proper decorum.
Living in the countryside for so long had made her too… straightforward.
Her words were practically unbearable!
Even the usually emotionless Prince Regent gave her a sidelong glance.
Zhao Hanya also made up her mind—once they returned, she would find a proper etiquette instructor for her daughter.
Lin Yuxin, unaware of what was coming, had no idea that she was about to endure a long period of rigorous training.
“Weiwei? My Weiwei!!”
Madam Bai finally saw her daughter clearly.
Her face turned pale, and she immediately rushed forward, wrapping Bai Weiwei in a protective embrace and covering her body with a piece of clothing.
Her hands trembled as tears streamed down her face.
“You wicked girl! Slap!”
The Prime Minister, seething with rage, took a step forward and delivered a fierce slap across Bai Weiwei’s face.
The impact jolted Bai Weiwei awake.
She groggily opened her eyes, momentarily dazed by the large crowd around her.
Then, seeing her father’s furious expression and realizing her own disheveled state, she lowered her head—her face instantly drained of color.
“Ahhhh!!!”
Bai Weiwei let out a bloodcurdling scream, clutching her body and sobbing as she hid in her mother’s arms.
“You still have the nerve to cry?! Look at what you’ve done!”
With all the commotion, the Crown Prince also finally regained his senses.
Sweeping his gaze around the room and then down at himself, he immediately grasped the situation.
His expression darkened in rage.
“Well, well, so this was all a trap by the Prime Minister’s family, huh?”
He dressed quickly while furiously snapping.
“Your Highness, what do you mean by that? We just found out about this today! My daughter is a victim in this too. Since the two of you have already shared such intimacy, are you saying you won’t take responsibility?”
Hearing the Crown Prince’s accusation, the Prime Minister grew even angrier.
No matter the cause, this had already happened.
Yet, instead of taking responsibility, the Crown Prince was trying to shift the blame onto them?
That wouldn’t stand.
“I never said I wouldn’t take responsibility! But I was clearly drugged! This happened in your Prime Minister’s residence—don’t you owe me an explanation?”
The Crown Prince took a deep breath to suppress his anger and turned to the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister’s face turned red with fury.
But as much as he wanted to argue, he knew that since this had happened under his roof, he held no leverage.
“Your Highness, I will personally go to the Emperor and take responsibility for this.”
This was a bitter pill to swallow, but he had no choice.
If he ever found out who was behind this, he would make sure they were torn to pieces!
The Crown Prince’s heart skipped a beat at the mention of the Emperor.
Though he knew he had been set up, too many people had witnessed this. If he refused to acknowledge it, he might lose his position as heir.
So, he forced himself to calm down and said, “Prime Minister, regardless of the circumstances, since Bai Weiwei has already become my woman, I will request an imperial decree for marriage.”
Losing this pawn meant he needed a new strategy for dealing with Lin Chenglie.
He just had to make sure Lin Chenglie never found out who was behind this.
Glaring at Lin Chenglie, the Crown Prince gritted his teeth in silent hatred.
[Tsk, the Crown Prince must be bleeding inside. Bai Weiwei is useless to him now—she can’t manipulate my brother or secure military power. But no worries, I’m ready for whatever schemes he throws my way!]
Seeing the Crown Prince’s bitter expression, Lin Yuxin rolled her eyes.
“Well then, today’s matter is settled. Thank you all for coming. I will send formal apologies later. Please, everyone, take your leave.”
With the matter concluded, the Prime Minister promptly dismissed the guests.
