We’re Not Familiar (Love at First Sight, 1v1 h)

Qi Yu placed the fruit on the coffee table and then lay back down on the sofa.

This time, she noticed a bottle of mineral water on the round table in front of the sofa. The cap was lightly placed on the mouth of the bottle, sealing it from the fine particles in the air.

Did Xu Jingqian open it for her? Qi Yu wondered.

Her thoughts were quickly diverted by the local delicacies she found on her phone.

Qi Yu loved trying new things, whether it was food or attractions. As long as something didn’t immediately put her off, she would give it a try. But in this place, she was truly hesitant to act recklessly.

She remembered the night she arrived, driving for nearly an hour from the airport to try the local dish she had been longing for. Following her principle of being adventurous and not wasting food, she took several extra bites. That night, in the early hours of the morning, Qi Yu ordered a large portion of KFC in her hotel room to soothe her upset stomach. From this, she concluded that not everyone can handle Yunnan cuisine.

After comparing a few options, Qi Yu chose a popular yak meat hotpot restaurant for dinner that evening.

It was still early for dinner, so she charged her phone and then climbed into bed to rest.

When she woke up, her phone screen showed it was 5:30 PM.

Qi Yu felt a bit groggy. She lay in bed for a few minutes before getting up and sitting at the coffee table to eat an orange.

As she stepped outside, the sun was still intense. Qi Yu hadn’t walked far before turning back to grab her sun-protective jacket and hat. Once fully prepared, she followed the navigation and set off again.

She was staying in an ancient town, which made sightseeing and getting around convenient. From the homestay, she followed the stone path, turned a few corners, and found herself on the main tourist route of the ancient town. The restaurant for dinner was further along this path.

However, the stone path was not easy to walk on. After walking less than 200 meters, Qi Yu’s feet started to hurt.

She began to regret wearing flip-flops.

Qi Yu looked back at the path she had taken and decided to keep going.

At some point, a small calico cat appeared behind her, tail held high. It meowed at her twice as it passed by, then trotted away.

Qi Yu thought the cat was greeting her, so she pinched her voice and replied, “Hello there.”

Her hand was still waving in the air when a tall figure emerged from the alley she was about to turn into. Her voice and gesture were caught by Xu Jingqian, making it seem like she was greeting him.

Qi Yu didn’t have time to lower her hand and could only smile at him.

“Are you going out?” Xu Jingqian asked.

Qi Yu nodded. “For dinner.”

Xu Jingqian pointed to the intersection. “If you turn right here, you’ll find the famous tourist spots of the ancient town. There are many good shops worth visiting. The backyard door won’t be closed at night, so you don’t have to worry about running out of time…”

As he spoke, Qi Yu noticed that he was carrying several bags of fruit. She didn’t pay close attention to what kinds, but she saw the veins on the back of his hand bulging, extending up his arm, which she found quite sexy. This distracted her from fully hearing what Xu Jingqian was saying.

She looked up at him, her gaze naturally shifting to his face. He had a healthy, fair complexion with a few beads of sweat on his cheeks.

Qi Yu candidly said, “Ah, what did you say?”

Xu Jingqian shook his head. “Be careful and don’t stay out too late.”

“Oh,” Qi Yu mechanically replied with a single word, then walked away without looking back.

She found Xu Jingqian to be quite strange. Why did he need to tell her this? He wasn’t her relative or anything; her safety shouldn’t concern him as the homestay owner.

Thinking back to him delivering fruit earlier, Qi Yu realized that Xu Jingqian must have said the same thing to other guests.

There was nothing special about his attention; it was just her imagination running wild.

But with a face like that doing these things and saying these words, it’s enough to make anyone’s head spin.

Qi Yu tapped her forehead, forcing herself to stop thinking about it. She decided to view Xu Jingqian as a flirtatious man who, besides having a handsome face and a pleasant voice, had nothing else going for him.

Then, for some inexplicable reason, she started wondering if Xu Jingqian had a good physique…
