Chapter 94: End of main text.

A few days later, with the combined effort of multiple parties delivering face-slaps and the coordination of a top-notch PR team, the uproar was completely quelled.

Shen Mofeng and Ye Chen weren’t the only openly gay couple in the industry, but they were undoubtedly the most well-known and popular. Coupled with Shen Mofeng’s series of flamboyant actions after coming out, the buzz surrounding them persisted for days.

After their identities were revealed, the sales of Chenchen’s Wellness and Health Shop products skyrocketed like crazy. Several items sold out the same night, prompting the factory to work overtime. The HR manager, Fu Xi, hastily posted job openings, called candidates one by one, and rushed to expand the workforce. Meanwhile, the current employees—especially the mostly young female customer service team—became so ecstatic upon learning their bosses were none other than Ye Chen and Shen Mofeng that they nearly tore the office apart with excitement. While Fu Xi was busy recruiting, he was also tormented by the fangirls’ ecstatic squeals, his headache worsening as he reluctantly answered their questions.

Fu Xi: “Yes, it’s really them. Right, Ye Chen is… an inheritor of a traditional Chinese medicine lineage. Ahem.”

Fu Xi: “Uh-huh, I’ve seen them in person. They’re great, even better-looking than on camera.”

Fu Xi: “An autograph? Um… maybe when there’s an opportunity…”

Along with the surge in sales came an influx of divine power from all directions. The divine power meter in the app ticked up rapidly, like the counter of an overcharged taxi. After accumulating divine power for half a month, Ye Chen opened up a small plot in the Spiritual Wood Plantation Zone. Reverently, as if handling a beloved elder, he selected one sapling from ten Immortal Tree seedlings and planted it in the designated area.

The sapling was as thin as Ye Chen’s finger, fragile and unremarkable, resembling a random twig picked up from the roadside. Following the steps in the “Comprehensive Guide to Cultivating Immortal Tree Saplings,” which he had long memorized, Ye Chen meticulously nurtured the newly planted sapling, with Shen Mofeng assisting him.

After the delicate sapling was planted, Ye Chen hesitantly attempted to channel the divine power stored in his spiritual aperture—a new skill unlocked after his divine power reached a qualitative change. Like a gentle stream, the divine power flowed steadily from his fingertips, infusing the sapling with vibrant life.

As the surplus divine power of the Shennong Lineage was fully exhausted, the sapling, which had resembled a frail twig, began to grow visibly. It sprouted new branches and leaves, forming delicate offshoots as translucent, pearly buds appeared. Beneath the soil, invisible to the eye, web-like roots expanded silently yet tenaciously. A fine, dust-like glow floated around the sapling, wrapping the Immortal Tree in a soft luminescence.

Ye Chen withdrew his hand and exhaled lightly. “Half a month’s worth of divine power gone in the blink of an eye…”

Shen Mofeng chuckled. “It’ll get easier to accumulate over time. The shop’s sales have doubled several times recently, though the inventory can’t keep up.”

Not far away, in the melon patch, a Lamborghini tractor that looked as cool as a Transformer was parked. In the field, the divine beast cubs, wearing tiny aprons, were picking cantaloupes. Their chubby little hands patted the melons ceremoniously, left and right.

“Pick the sweetest ones! We’ll make juice and ice cream when we get back,” commanded Hou Cub, cradling a fluffy creature that looked like a milk kitten.

During this time, two more divine beast cubs had awakened.

The fluffy creature in Hou Cub’s arms was a Zhen[1]Two hundred and eighty miles west of Futi Mountain, there is a mountain called Zhang’e Mountain. The mountain is bare, without flowers, plants or trees, but full of beautiful jades such as jade … Continue reading Cub. Apart from having five tails, the Zhen Cub was indistinguishable from a milk kitten. However, the Zhen Cub took its fierce reputation very seriously and refused to act cute. It frequently bared its tiny fangs and let out soft growls to assert its ferocity but often fell victim to Ye Chen’s spiritual-energy catnip and DIY foxtail grass teaser toys, rolling over and exposing its chubby belly for belly rubs.

Recently, Hou Cub had also mastered the art of petting—no, teasing—the Zhen Cub.

As for the other newly awakened divine beast, it was Kunpeng[2]Peng – gigantic bird transformed from the Kun. Kun is a legendary giant fish that could transform into a giant bird, peng. Cub.

Divine beasts are born from the essence of heaven and earth, requiring no reproduction. Some exist as unique individuals, while others have counterparts, depending on the mood of the world’s spiritual energy. The Kunpeng had one elder and one younger member. The elder lay dormant at the bottom of the South Sea, having slept for decades, while the younger had just learned to transform. Shortly after gaining its humanoid form, the little Kunpeng picked up an odd quirk, possibly inspired by some inaccurate popular science…

“Where’s Kun Kun?” Ye Chen glanced around.

The little Kunpeng was nowhere to be seen among the group of cubs in the melon patch.

Shen Mofeng replied, “Pu Lu isn’t here either.”

Ye Chen’s heart sank.

Meanwhile, in the main house of Shen Mofeng’s courtyard, two divine beast cubs were secretly plotting.

Kunpeng Cub: “Look, Lu Lu Gege, I’ve saved up this—much!”

“Wow!” Pu Lu Cub’s eyes sparkled. “Is this really valuable?”

The two cubs lay side by side on the floor, their upper bodies poking under Shen Mofeng’s king-sized bed as they stared at a plastic bag.

“Of course! Even the poop of a mere sperm whale is a fragrance more precious than gold—ambergris or something…” Kunpeng Cub puffed out its chest, speaking in a childish voice. “I, a majestic divine beast Kun, am far more impressive than a sperm whale.”

Pu Lu Cub whispered nervously, “But Chen Chen Gege said not to hide poo poo anymore, and Qi Ge and Hou Gege said the same.”

“Don’t worry! I hid it under Feng Feng Gege’s bed. Hou Hou Gege said the most dangerous place is the safest place,” Kunpeng Cub rested its chin in its hands. “They don’t understand. When I sell this poop, I’ll buy you lots and lots of chocolates.”

Pu Lu Cub beamed. “Okay!”

Kunpeng Cub poked him. “Then will you stick to me from now on? Even barnacles cling to sperm whales.”

Pu Lu Cub shyly twisted his clothes and softly replied, “I’ll stick.”

Behind the door, where they had been eavesdropping, Ye Chen and Shen Mofeng exchanged a glance: “…”

Bang! The door burst open as Ye Chen stormed in!

Shen Mofeng’s expression turned complicated.

Ye Chen rolled up his sleeves, advancing toward Kunpeng step by step, gritting his teeth. “Okay, you little fish brat!”

Kunpeng immediately switched personas, looking around in panic. “What? What did Kun Kun do again?”

Ye Chen pointed under the bed. “See for yourself.”

Kunpeng’s face flushed as he frantically waved his hands. “It’s not Peng Peng’s fault! It’s Kun Kun who hid it! I’m Peng Peng now! I just woke up!”

Ye Chen scowled. “Then bring Kun Kun out here.”

Kunpeng tried for a moment, then slumped in defeat. “He’s hiding. I… I can’t call him out…”

Ye Chen lunged like a tiger pouncing on prey. “Can’t call him out? I think you’re Kun Kun!”

“Chirp chirp!” It’s really not me! Kunpeng, scared out of his wits, shifted from human to bird form and flapped his wings, flying out the window.

“That was really Peng Peng just now,” Pulu Cub whispered. “The aura changed—I could smell it.”

Ye Chen: “…”

Having a kid with split personalities is hard!

Especially with a Kunpeng Cub like this: Kun’s personality was mischievous beyond belief, while Peng was obedient and sweet. Switching without warning, Kun would even pretend to be Peng. Punishing him was an absolute nightmare.

Shen Mofeng shook his head, chuckling as he cleaned the mess under the bed. Sensing the danger, Pulu Cub also slipped away along the wall.

After a day of chaos and commotion, the night finally settled.

Shen Mofeng leaned lazily against the bedhead, a cigarette between his lips, engrossed in a book titled The Art of Hosting.

Freshly showered, Ye Chen, still smelling sweet, walked over to the bed and sat down, curiously glancing at the book.

Shen Mofeng noticed his gaze, smiled, and stubbed out the cigarette. “Just learning a little.”

“Learning to host?” Ye Chen rested his chin on Shen Mofeng’s shoulder.

Shen Mofeng picked up his phone, showing the screen to Ye Chen with a humble yet teasing tone. “Didn’t the fan topic host application get approved? I don’t have much hosting experience, so I’m cramming a bit. Don’t want to mess it up…”

Ye Chen stared in silence for a moment, his voice breaking. “You even applied to be a fan topic host?!”

You, sir, personally engaging with the fans—how could things even remotely go wrong?!

“What’s wrong?” Shen Mofeng drawled. “Do you want to apply for one too?”

Ye Chen waved his hands frantically. “No, no, no, bro, I think you should keep a respectful distance from the fans’ lives. At this rate, even the fan leaders can’t keep up with you! Where’s their dignity?”

Shen Mofeng sighed regretfully. “I even planned today’s discussion topic.”

Ye Chen looked at him in disbelief.

Shen Mofeng lowered his head to type, clearly enjoying teasing Ye Chen with his deliberate slowness.

Shen Mofeng v: #FengYeCouple# Today’s topic is…

“Ge—!” Ye Chen panicked, flipping over to straddle Shen Mofeng and snatching the phone to lock it.

“Give it to me.” Shen Mofeng’s eyes glinted with amusement as he reached behind Ye Chen, trying to grab his hand.

“Ge, I’m begging you,” Ye Chen pleaded, dodging frantically. But he wasn’t quick enough—Shen Mofeng pinned him down on the bed, causing the phone to slip from his grip and land at the corner of the bed. “Tone it down a little!”

Shen Mofeng gently nibbled on his lips and murmured, “Distract me, then?”

Ye Chen felt like he’d fallen into a trap. His face heated up as he asked quietly, “…How?”

“Let me think,” Shen Mofeng said, his hands not stopping as he toyed with him. “How many tasks are left unfulfilled on that fake account of yours?”

Earlier, Shen Mofeng had used the excuse of punishing Ye Chen for lying, making him restore or repeat all the exaggerated praises and stories he had posted under a fake account. For each task completed, Shen Mofeng would delete a screenshot. Now, only a few remain.

Shen Mofeng’s slender fingers skimmed the screen, exited Weibo, and opened a screenshot, then whispered, “Read?”

“……” Ye Chen’s face turned red, and he cleared his throat lightly before saying, “Wanting my Gege to marry me…”

“Continue.” Shen Mofeng gently pressed on Ye Chen’s flat stomach, “What’s here?”

“Don’t, don’t, it doesn’t work like that…” Ye Chen grabbed Shen Mofeng’s restless hand, “Can we skip this part?”

“No,” Shen Mofeng said in a low voice, “It’s been half a year, I’ve been waiting.”

Ye Chen was speechless: “Ge, you…”

Is something wrong with you?

Shen Mofeng: “Hurry, it’s urgent, what’s here?”

“Baby… Gege’s.” Ye Chen closed his eyes helplessly, with a faint blush rising on his face. Without needing further prompting, he automatically completed the sentence, “Gege’s baby.”

This bought account is really harming me!

Shen Mofeng lowered his head and kissed him: “Shall we make it official?”

……

……

The moonlight, which was about to give way to the dawn, slipped through the gap in the curtains and peeked into the room, casting a faint silver light across the bed and onto the floor.

Soft whispers filled the room, and the atmosphere was warm and tender.

In the next courtyard, just on the other side of the wall…

The little divine beast cubs were happily snoring on ten neatly arranged children’s beds, each lost in peaceful, feather-light dreams…

In the small space where the soul’s essence was stored, glowing bubbles gently floated in the quiet darkness. A baby pair of winged birds chirped softly in its dreams…

In the Mountain and Sea Realm, the gentle glow of the setting sun brushed over fields of spiritual herbs and lush forests, as well as Ying Long, who lay coiled by the water’s edge, resting its eyes…

The farmland, stirred by the evening breeze, resembled melting jade, with waves of green undulating, extending all the way to the horizon that the eye could not reach…

In this realm, all life flows on, endlessly.

The morning light arrived on the wind.

The author has something to say:

It’s finished! Ahhhhhh…

I’ll take a few days off, then write that and the extras~

Let me say a few words for the conclusion, since I’m such a talkative person…

This story was actually a bit difficult to write from the start because I’d never really dealt with both farming and the entertainment industry themes before. Then suddenly, I had to write not just one, but combine them together and defy the odds—wow… I ended up as tangled up as a dog!

But even being tangled up helped with personal growth. Throughout the process, my mindset became steadier, and I gained a lot from this experience. I believe I’ll improve in my next story~

Thanks to all the little friends who’ve accompanied me along the way. I did some small fixes in the beginning, but later on, I wasn’t feeling well, and kept taking time off to go to the hospital. Really, thank you so much for not minding. You guys are little angels~ I hope that Chen Chen and Shen Ge were able to bring you some fun and silliness~ I’m not sure what else to say, so I’ll just wish everyone a sudden windfall of wealth. Hahahaha ╰(°▽°)╯

The next story is undecided, but I’ve put it in my column already. The tentative title is “The Next One”… I’m shamelessly asking for a pre-order, it will definitely be BL, definitely sweet, but I won’t say much else. As the saying goes, the more you say, the more likely you’ll back out.

The extras will be daily life and sub-couples. The update schedule is casual… I think it’s fine to check once a week (those who subscribed automatically, don’t forget to unsubscribe~ Just read the parts you like).

Thanks again~ (づ ̄3 ̄)づ

And once again, I’ve gone and added some random landscape description at the end to fill up space. This really is my pattern… furrows brow, falls into deep thought ( ??ω?? )
