Shen Meng is a corporate worker at a large company. While delivering a contract to a business partner, she gets into a car accident.

As she lies in bed, struggling alone, she suddenly awakens to find she has gained a special space. Before she can even feel happy about it, she starts experiencing strange side effects. Almost every night, she starts having strange dreams.

Alarmed by these recurring visions, Shen Meng decides to take action. She sells her apartment and car and begins stockpiling supplies, preparing herself in case she ends up in a place where food and essentials are scarce.

Then, on another supply run, she has yet another accident. When she opens her eyes, she finds herself transported—into the world of a period novel, where she’s cast as the villainous supporting character doomed to a tragic end. The character’s fate is bleak: Not only does her reputation get destroyed, but she dies a tragic death. Her four children, neglected and raised without discipline, grow up with distorted minds due to frequent abuse in their childhood, and their lives end miserably. Meanwhile, the man who has always served in the army for the country is ambushed and struck in the back of the head. He becomes foolish and, in the end, drowns in a river during winter while clutching the wedding dress she wore.

To change her fate, Shen Meng decides to redeem her reputation and guide her children toward goodness, as they are all descendants of heroes, and she doesn’t want to see them fall.

As she occupies the original owner’s body, Shen Meng decides to properly care for the elderly and the children, leading the family down the path to prosperity. However, the man who has always been distant and indifferent, protecting the country, begins to look at her with increasingly intense eyes.
