Ying Ni’s Family Decline

At the age of 29, Ying Ni married her most successful high school classmate, Chen An, following the downfall of her family. Outsiders marveled at their rekindled romance, calling their marriage a perfect match, a union made in heaven.

Hearing this, Ying Ni secretly scoffed. One was after money, the other after looks. Their marriage had no love, only duty—twice a week, at least.

After marriage, Chen An was wealthy, capable, and had a good temper. Ying Ni gradually started to feel that this marriage was tolerable. Perhaps Chen An even had feelings for her.

With this thought, she immediately sneaked into the study to test him. When Chen An saw her looking like she’d lost something important, he, unsurprisingly, asked her what was wrong.

Ying Ni said while sneakily glancing at his expression, “Today is my ex-boyfriend’s birthday. I miss him a little…”

Chen An, busy browsing through a contract, didn’t get angry. Instead, he took the time to give her advice:

Chen An asked again: “Did you buy him a gift?”

Ying Ni rolled her eyes: “It’s already been delivered.”

Chen An nodded: “Okay.”

What does “okay” even mean? Since he wasn’t interested, she wasn’t either. With a cold face, she grabbed a towel and headed to the bathroom, already thinking about the time when she would get a divorce.

Just as she turned on the shower, someone suddenly barged in.

After some chaos, Ying Ni, pressed against the wall, felt like the bathroom was shaking from an earthquake, and a deep male voice still wouldn’t let her off the hook: “When’s my birthday?
What day?
Where’s my gift?
Where’s my gift?”
