Chapter 1: The Collapse of Heaven Begins
Tian Mi felt as if a car was repeatedly running over her, her whole body numb and in pain, her bones feeling like they were about to be dismantled. It was as if she were on a beach, with waves washing over her again and again, while two little white rabbits hopped around in the surf, the sound of heavy breathing in her ears.
Tian Mi couldn’t help but moan!
What was going on? What kind of colorful dream was this?
Even though she was 26 years old and her mother had called to say that if she didn’t find a boyfriend soon, she shouldn’t come back, was she really listening to her mother and looking for a boyfriend?
No, she clearly said she wasn’t looking for a boyfriend; she would wait until she had money to support a rich and handsome man.
This must be a dream! Since it was such a wonderful dream, why not make it even more wonderful? Tian Mi began to take the initiative.
“Little brother, the little fairy is here!”
Eventually, her body couldn’t withstand the impact, feeling as heavy as a thousand pounds, completely losing its strength and falling into a deep sleep.
When Tian Mi woke up again, it was already bright outside, and the cave was still dim. She tried to move her aching body but found she couldn’t.
She opened her eyes wide. Oh my! A cave? I really am in a cave.
This wasn’t a dream. She quickly sat up but couldn’t manage it. With great difficulty, she propped herself up.
Looking at her round fingers, which looked like inflated balloons, she was relieved that her body didn’t actually weigh a thousand pounds but only 250 pounds.
Oh my, that’s half again as heavy as two of me!
The memories in her head replayed like a dream after she fell asleep last night, so it wasn’t a dream—she had truly crossed over. Although she had anticipated this, she wished she could have at least become a decent person!
Originally, she was also called Tian Mi, an 18-year-old fat girl who had not yet married. Her father was a bodyguard, strong but simple-minded, and the family lived happily and contentedly. Her mother had passed away three years ago, and since then, she had taken to overeating, gradually becoming the plump figure she was now, filled with good fortune.
This was a place called the Heavenly Collapse Dynasty, which Tian Mi had never heard of, and it wasn’t recorded in history books.
Since the beginning of last spring, not a drop of rain had fallen from the sky, and food prices had skyrocketed to outrageous levels. Even though her family, the Tian family, was relatively wealthy, they were running low on supplies.
They had originally hoped for government relief food, but unexpectedly, the old emperor suddenly died last year. His sons fought fiercely for the throne, leaving no one to care for the people. After enduring through this year, they hoped it would rain so they could have some hope, but still, there was no rain, and everyone began to flee from famine.
Her father, Tian Dabiao, had gone out with the people from the town to escape the famine, but a few days ago, they were scattered by the refugees, and they had run out of food. Now, only a few people from their bodyguard agency remained, and their maternal grandfather’s family, who originally ran a pharmacy in the town, had also been scattered.
Yesterday, fortune fell from the sky when a group of people clashed with bandits, and in the end, both sides suffered heavy losses. Her father, along with several uncles, killed the remaining bandits and occupied their hideout, which provided food and other supplies for the desperate people.
Inside the cave, there was a whole stash of food and other resources, and everyone was smiling broadly, unable to close their mouths. They immediately decided not to leave but to stay and become bandits, and Tian Dabiao was elected as the leader. After everyone happily ate their fill, they discovered that there was still a man bound and gagged inside the cave.
This man was truly handsome! With sword-like eyebrows and starry eyes, and a finely sculpted face, even an 18-year-old fat girl couldn’t help but stare at him, regardless of whether he was willing or how fiercely he resisted. Tian Dabiao immediately declared that he was his son-in-law, and that his daughter, Tian Mi, would be the bandit’s wife. Since they were all becoming bandits now, what was there to be polite about?
Aunt Feng had watched her grow up and had made her a suitable match. She was afraid he wouldn’t obey, so she fed him some medicine meant for breeding pigs.
Oh no! Men aren’t safe out there, especially handsome ones.
Tian Mi felt a bit numb! Ignoring her
Tian Dabiao patted his chest and said, “We are bandits! What do we have to fear?”
Tian Mi was speechless.
“Dad! The professional bandits are all gone. We, who just became bandits, only have a dozen strong men. How can we withstand a few blows from them?”
This remark shattered their bandit dreams! Indeed, they were too few in number.
Tian Dabiao said, “Daughter, I was just planning to go find your Grandpa Xu and Uncle Xu. With more people, we can continue being bandits.”
“Dad! Grandpa Xu took you in, and now you want to recruit his descendants to be bandits? How can you face his spirit in heaven?”
Tian Dabiao thought about it and agreed. It was one thing for him to be a bandit, but to involve Grandpa Xu was indeed inappropriate.
Tian Dabiao hurriedly called for them to pack up, focusing on taking food and leaving behind everything else except essentials.
The most important thing was to go to the waterhole at the foot of the back mountain to fill up on water. Outside, it was hard to find any! And that waterhole didn’t seem like it would last much longer either.
This place was certainly not suitable for staying long!
Aunt Feng was about to go gather food, and despite her being a bit of a troublemaker, Tian Mi still felt angry at her. She wanted to say a few words to her; otherwise, they might get into big trouble later.
She said, “Aunt Feng! They say to pick the soft persimmons to squeeze. If you’re going to find me a man, at least find someone easy to bully! That man’s temperament and those eyes—how could he be a soft persimmon?” She was so clueless.
Aunt Feng looked at her with grievance, mumbling, “Soft ones aren’t useful either! I’m just thinking of you.”
Oh my, does she want to be this considerate?
Tian Mi was speechless and went to help them pack. In fact, no matter how much they packed, Tian Mi would take the rest into her space. A week ago, she had suddenly acquired this space.
Having read novels, she immediately guessed that she might be crossing over, so she prepared everything she needed, spending all her savings to stockpile supplies in her space.
She had thought she would become a princess or something like that and was quite looking forward to it. Who would have thought she would end up in the body of a fat bandit? It was a matter of life and death, and she had stirred up great trouble on the road of fleeing.
Thinking carefully about the advantages of the current host, aside from inheriting her father’s strength, she had nothing else.
Oh my! This is the beginning of a collapse!
Fortunately, she was strong; otherwise, she wouldn’t be able to move with such a heavy body.
In the bandit hideout, there were several horses, two cows, two donkeys, and plenty of carts—ten carts in total. Seven carts were filled with grain, two with water, and one with tools and clothes.
They had only twenty-three people in total, including five children under ten, all of whom could fit in the carts.
For the sake of safety on the road ahead, everyone except the children under ten had a big knife as they continued to flee to Xingrong County.
Sigh! Speaking of which, everyone here is an adult. With such things happening, men should be magnanimous and take some losses.
Tian Mi touched the three layers of fat around her belly, unsure how many layers of chin she had!
This loss, I bet he can’t eat!
Forget it, let’s hurry and escape!
The world is so big; they would never see each other again in their remaining lives. Even if he can’t eat, he still has to eat!
Consider yourself lucky if you can.
I’m not so lucky either; if I had come a day earlier, none of this would have happened. Sigh.
When the refugees reached a safe place, the authorities would settle them, but being a bandit was a different story—it could lead to execution. Tian Mi carefully counted: they had only been bandits for two days, and they had not killed or set fire to anything. They had even killed bandits, which was a good deed. Hmm, no bad deeds. They hadn’t robbed anyone on the road, so no bad deeds there! They had bullied men but not women. Oh! But as long as he can’t find her, it doesn’t count as a bad deed; they were still law-abiding citizens.
Having been bandits for two days and only committing half a bad deed wasn’t that bad. Tian Mi thought to herself, feeling justified.
