Chapter 40: Meng Chengzhang’s Promotion?
A long time later, the two were lying in bed, Sheng Xiao couldn’t help but chuckle.
Lin Yuan was so embarrassed that she felt like she could sink into the floor.
Just when things were getting heated, Lin Yuan looked at her flat stomach and saw a bulge appear. She was startled and wanted to stop Sheng Xiao.
Sheng Xiao pursed his lips, his mouth forming a straight line.
He watched as the bulge moved back and forth, his excitement growing, making him even more rough.
Men’s feelings for women are always complex. When they are deeply in love, they want to cherish her, but they also want to break her.
Lin Yuan’s fingernails were digging into Sheng Xiao’s back, leaving bloody marks. Tiny beads of blood even appeared, but this didn’t stop Sheng Xiao. Instead, it made him accelerate his actions.
After a long and tiring session, Lin Yuan was exhausted. She was limp, like a broken doll, her face buried in the pillow. Her long, soft hair was scattered over her shoulders, her black hair and white neck fragile and pitiful.
Sheng Xiao cleaned her up and hugged her from behind. “An Baoer, are you comfortable?”
Lin Yuan was not only tired but also embarrassed.
After she asked what the bulge on her stomach was, Sheng Xiao almost guided her to keep watching the changes in that area. At first, she was curious, but then she slowly realized what was happening, and her face turned red as if it had been steamed.
This man always made her do those embarrassing things!
Although…
As she watched, her body did undergo some changes she had never experienced before.
She was annoyed with herself, hoping that her small changes wouldn’t be noticed by the cunning Sheng Xiao. Otherwise, he might have some tricks up his sleeve for her!
——
Since Sheng Xiao entered Shengshi, his work hours were similar to Lin Yuan’s. So in the morning, they both left at the same time. Sheng Xiao would first drop Lin Yuan off at her company and then drive to Shengshi himself.
The car stopped downstairs at Yarui Company. Lin Yuan’s bright eyes glanced outside. Just as she was about to kiss Sheng Xiao goodbye, the man couldn’t wait any longer and kissed her. She was forced to endure a long kiss. She pushed Sheng Xiao away, breathing heavily, and gave him a playful glare.
“Sheng Xiao, someone is watching.”
Sheng Xiao looked at her with a nonchalant expression. He rubbed his thumb against her lips. “Oh, I saw you looking around. I thought you wanted to kiss me.”
Lin Yuan was caught off guard and blushed. “I didn’t.”
“Hmm, I wanted to kiss An Baoer.”
Lin Yuan smiled triumphantly, and Sheng Xiao followed suit. “Go upstairs. I’ll pick you up tonight.”
Sheng Xiao drove away, but Lin Yuan hesitated to go upstairs. Yao Tingting patted her from behind. “Oh my, the kiss was so passionate!”
Realizing that Sheng Xiao’s actions were too obvious for others to see, Lin Yuan, who was already shy, blushed even harder. “You’re wrong.”
The two chatted and went upstairs. Yao Tingting scanned the surroundings and whispered to Lin Yuan, “There seems to be a big move in the company today.”
“What big move?”
“You’ll know when you get there.”
After the two went upstairs, Lin Yuan learned what Yao Tingting meant by “big move.” The company’s intranet released a transfer order, dispatching Meng Chengzhang, the original market department director, from the headquarters to the Hainan branch. He would be responsible for all affairs of the Hainan branch.
This transfer was a promotion in name only. The Hainan branch was a remote location, essentially an empty shell with low salaries, poor benefits, and insufficient staff.
Meng Chengzhang argued with Wang Rui in his office, but Wang Rui, who was usually gentle and courteous, simply looked at him without refuting. “If Director Meng doesn’t want to go to Hainan, the company can find someone else. Director Meng has contributed a lot to the company over the years. It’s time for you to take a break.”
Meng Chengzhang understood what he meant.
Go to Hainan if you want, but if you don’t, get out of Yarui completely.
He didn’t know what went wrong. He thought he had done nothing wrong, and Wang Rui had tacitly approved of his actions. Why was there such a sudden change this time?
What was the core issue?
It was as if someone had suddenly flipped a switch in his mind. The difference this time was that… Lin Yuan was involved?
When Meng Tian rushed into Meng Chengzhang’s office, he was packing his things. Seeing Meng Tian, he looked at her with complex emotions and instructed, “Tiantian, after Uncle leaves the company, you need to be wary of Lin Yuan.”
He didn’t know if it was his imagination, but he felt that Lin Yuan’s background was not simple.
There seemed to be some powerful figure behind her, someone even Wang Rui, the CEO of Yarui, was afraid of!
Meng Tian didn’t care. “Uncle, this little b*tch doesn’t know what kind of luck she has. Even Wang always protects her. Don’t you think she’s having an affair with Wang?”
Meng Tian couldn’t think of any other reason why Wang Rui would ignore their years of friendship and directly issue an expulsion order to the company’s senior executive, Meng Chengzhang, unless it was because of Lin Yuan.
Meng Chengzhang narrowed his eyes. It wasn’t Wang Rui.
His silence was taken as agreement by Meng Tian. She suddenly remembered something and her face became sharp. “Uncle, don’t worry. I’ll get you back soon.”
Meng Chengzhang was preoccupied and didn’t pay much attention to what Meng Tian said. They both misunderstood each other’s intentions.
When they were leaving, they passed by the design department. Lin Yuan was sitting at her desk and glanced over. Her eyes met Meng Tian’s.
Meng Tian glared at her with hatred, as if she wanted to tear her apart. Lin Yuan, however, looked at her with a calm expression and looked away after two seconds.
“Lin Yuan, don’t get too happy!”
Meng Tian stood behind Meng Chengzhang, feeling the ridicule and mockery from everyone in the office. Her hatred for Lin Yuan intensified. It was all because of Lin Yuan. One day, she would make Lin Yuan suffer tenfold!
Lin Yuan met Meng Tian’s gaze without backing down. She walked up to Meng Chengzhang with a sincere expression. “Director Meng… oh, Mr. Meng, congratulations on your promotion. The Hainan market is vast. I believe with your abilities, you will open up a new chapter for the company in the near future.”
Everyone knew that Meng Chengzhang’s promotion was a demotion in disguise. Lin Yuan’s words were like salt on his wounds. Meng Tian immediately approached Lin Yuan and tried to attack her.
Meng Chengzhang grabbed her sleeve, his face still relatively calm. “I admit defeat this time, but there’s a long way to go. It’s still uncertain who will laugh last.”
He glanced at Meng Tian, and they left the building.
Lin Yuan stared at their backs, lost in thought.
