On the Day She Discovered She Was Pregnant, She Personally Signed the Divorce Agreement Chapter 5

Chapter 5: I Won’t Allow You to Speak of Him That Way

Mu Huaixu noticed her discomfort and slightly curved his lips. “If she were a celebrity, Fu Yanci definitely wouldn’t have filmed this one.”

Shen Shuli frowned in confusion. “Why? Didn’t you say they looked alike?”

Mu Huaixu replied, “Because Fu Yanci is a man with extreme physical and emotional cleanliness. He never lets women get close to him. All these years, who has been by his side besides you? There’s no way he’d keep a celebrity mistress.”

Shen Shuli’s expression darkened further. Not only was he keeping a mistress, but he even had a love child!

“You don’t need to defend him.”

Mu Huaixu laughed, his eyes crinkling. “Why would I defend him? I’m just stating facts. You’re the eldest daughter of the Tangtang Shen family—your looks, figure, and background are all top-tier. Your brother is the CEO of Shen Corporation, and your father is the chairman. Unless Fu Yanci is blind, there’s no way he’d choose some celebrity over you. Wouldn’t he find that filthy?”

Shen Shuli’s face grew even more unpleasant. What she heard wasn’t praise but mockery—after all, Fu Yanci had betrayed her, despite her being the best in every way, and had a child with that woman!

“Besides, Fu Yanci’s company rose to prominence without any help from the Fu family. He climbed the ladder entirely by riding on his identity as the Shen family’s son-in-law. Without your family’s backing, could his company have ever succeeded?”

Mu Huaixu’s tone was dripping with sarcasm.

Shen Shuli grew angry, pressing her lips together. “I won’t allow you to speak of Fu Yanci that way. Even if I’m divorcing him, I won’t let anyone mock him like this!”

Mu Huaixu fell silent and said nothing more.

Shen Shuli continued, “Over the years, I’ve seen clearly how hard Fu Yanci has worked. He never asked me for a single penny, nor did he seek any financing from my father or brother. The scale his company has reached today is entirely due to his own efforts—it has nothing to do with the Shen family!”

“Is that so?”

Mu Huaixu narrowed his dark eyes slightly. He despised Fu Yanci—not because of his status, but because of what happened three years ago. Fu Yanci had used such underhanded methods to snatch Shen Shuli away from him.

His conduct was simply disgraceful. What right did Fu Yanci have to earn his respect?

Shen Shuli’s expression turned stormy, all traces of her earlier cheerfulness gone. She gathered her things. “I have something to attend to and need to leave. Let me walk you out of the firm.”

Mu Huaixu swallowed his frustration and followed her out. But once they stepped outside the law firm, he couldn’t hold back the words he’d wanted to say for three years.

“Fu Yanci isn’t as good as you think he is. He’s an expert at putting on an act. The person he is in front of others is completely different from the one you see!”

“Old classmate,” Shen Shuli paused and looked up at him. “If you say one more word about Fu Yanci in front of me, I’m sorry, but I won’t be able to take on the Mu Corporation’s case.”

Mu Huaixu didn’t press further. There would be plenty of time. Once the evidence was laid before her, she wouldn’t think this way anymore.

“I’ll head back first. I’ll come to the firm tomorrow to discuss things with you.”

“Fine. We’ll stick to business—no personal matters.”

Shen Shuli issued the warning, then watched as he got into his Aston Martin before turning toward her own car.

Shi Yi was sick—she had to hurry back and see what nonsense Fu Yanci had pulled to make the child fall ill!

When she pushed open the door to Golden Moon Bay, the butler immediately greeted her with a warm smile. “Young Madam, you’re back! The young master has been waiting for you for a long time.”

Shen Shuli ignored her words and looked around, “Where’s Shi Yi?”

“Woof woof!”

Fu Yanci walked out of the bedroom holding Shi Yi, gently stroking the dog’s fur.

Shi Yi eagerly jumped out of his arms and trotted happily toward Shen Shuli on its short little legs.

Shen Shuli picked it up and examined carefully, “Let me see where you’re sick, sweetheart.”

“Woof woof!”

Shi Yi barked joyfully, sticking out its tongue at her, showing no signs of illness whatsoever.

Fu Yanci strode over and gently pulled her into his embrace, “Shi Yi just missed its mommy. Since coming to our home, it’s never been separated from you for even a day.”

Shen Shuli’s heart melted completely, especially seeing Shi Yi’s adorable face. Even knowing this was a trap Fu Yanci had set for her, she couldn’t help but come.

“I’m taking Shi Yi back with me.”

Fu Yanci tightened his arms around her, “Shi Yi gets pity, but what about me? It has its mommy to care for it, but my wife—my only family—doesn’t want me anymore.”

“Fu Yanci, stop playing the victim with me. Isn’t the entire Fu family your relatives? How am I your only family?”

Shen Shuli retorted sharply. She knew him too well—did he really think such tactics would make her forgive something as serious as his infidelity?

Impossible!

Fu Yanci hesitated, “Wife, you’re all I have left. You can’t abandon me.”

Shen Shuli couldn’t stand the look in his eyes. Remembering Mu Huaixu’s words—that he was completely different around her versus outsiders—this side he showed now was nothing but an act!

“I’m leaving. Don’t come looking for me.”

With that, she broke free from his embrace and headed for the door.

Fu Yanci snatched Shi Yi from her arms, “If you leave, Shi Yi stays.”

“Fu Yanci!” Shen Shuli was furious and tried to grab Shi Yi back, “I’ve fed and raised Shi Yi since it was a puppy—you never cared before! What right do you have to stop me from taking it?”

Fu Yanci lowered his voice, stroking Shi Yi’s fur, “Then I’ll change. Starting today, I’ll take good care of Shi Yi. Just don’t leave, okay, wife?”

“No! I refuse to live under the same roof as you ever again!”

Shen Shuli was consumed with hatred. She couldn’t accept that Fu Yanci had betrayed her—just thinking about it made her heart ache unbearably.

Just as Fu Yanci was about to speak, his phone rang. He turned away, holding Shi Yi protectively as he answered, clearly afraid she’d take the dog.

Shen Shuli sat on the sofa, seething.

Though Fu Yanci hadn’t said a word, she could guess—it must be Bai Jinghong calling.

Fu Yanci hung up, “Sweetheart, I have something urgent to handle—”

Before he could finish, Shen Shuli took a sharp breath, “If you step out that door now, I’ll leave immediately and never come back.”

Fu Yanci froze, then sat beside her on the sofa, “So you’re saying if I stay, you’ll stay too?”

Shen Shuli gave him a sidelong glance, her gaze as indifferent as skimming an unimportant document, “Depends on my mood.”

Fu Yanci shoved Shi Yi into her arms and hugged her tightly, “Then of course I’m staying with my sweetheart. Nothing in this world matters more than you.”

Shen Shuli slapped him across the face, “Get lost! Don’t touch me!”

Fu Yanci refused to leave even after being hit, holding her tightly as if afraid she’d run away the moment he let go.

Shen Shuli didn’t struggle free, thinking of Bai Jinghong’s pink diamond necklace.

“I heard you spent 500 million last month to bid on a pink diamond necklace for me. Where is it? Why haven’t you given it to me yet?”

Fu Yanci’s Adam’s apple bobbed slightly, with only a fleeting trace of panic in his eyes. “You definitely wouldn’t like that one, so I bid on another one for you instead.”

“I want that pink diamond necklace, and I want it now.”

Shen Shuli rarely asked him for anything. Usually, she accepted whatever he gave and bought whatever she liked or needed herself. She wasn’t short on money—just her shareholder dividends from the Shen Corporation were enough for her to splurge freely every year.

“Alright, that necklace isn’t at home. I’ll get it for you tomorrow and bring it to your law firm so it’s the first thing you see, okay?”

Fu Yanci’s eyes were full of warmth, his tone indulgent.

Shen Shuli’s expression softened slightly.

Fu Yanci nuzzled her neck. “Wife, let’s go take a bath, okay?”

“Like hell we will! Get off me!”

Just as Shen Shuli tried to push him away, he pinned her down and kissed her cherry lips!
