On the Day She Discovered She Was Pregnant, She Personally Signed the Divorce Agreement Chapter 6

Chapter 6: He Wanted Her, Desperately

Shen Shuli pushed against him with all her might.

But his grip only tightened, enveloping her within his dominance as he savored her sweetness.

His breathing grew ragged, restraint long abandoned.

He wanted her—desperately.

Shen Shuli’s body softened, her strength to resist melting away.

Fu Yanci swept her into his arms and carried her toward the bedroom.

“Fu Yanci, put me down! I won’t do this with you!”

Shen Shuli struggled fiercely, yet fear of falling and harming the baby kept her protests loud but her movements cautious.

Fu Yanci carried her into the bedroom, yanking off his shirt with one hand to reveal his sculpted abs. “Wife, do you like what you see? I never slack off—I train every day just for you.”

“Fu Yanci, get away from me!”

She was furious. How dare he have the audacity to seduce her now?

What a shameless, despicable man!

Fu Yanci cradled her face and claimed her lips. Three years had taught him exactly how to stir the waters of her Heart Lake, how to draw out the resistance she secretly loved to surrender.

All he needed was to kiss her, caress her, meld her into his very bones.

A restless fire burned within Shen Shuli. She despised herself for it—how could this betrayer still ignite such unbearable longing in her?

Fu Yanci undid the buttons of her blouse, his fingers trailing inch by inch. “Wife, it’s been almost a month since I last had you. I’m starving. Give yourself to me, won’t you?”

“Fu Yanci.”

Her voice was icy, devoid of warmth.

Fu Yanci lifted his gaze to hers. “I’m here.”

“Are you really two different people—one in front of others, and another in front of me?”

Shen Shuli stared at him, bewildered. She had loved him for ten years, known him for fifteen, yet she had no idea who he truly was in the eyes of the world. All she knew was that every time they met, he clung to her, adored her, as if he couldn’t bear to be apart from her for even a moment. She reveled in this exclusive devotion, in the feeling of being cherished.

But now, she feared he might take it all back—or worse, that he acted the same way with other women.

“Wife, back then, to convince your father to let you marry me, I knelt outside your house for three days and nights.”

His tone was calm now, none of the earlier urgency remaining.

Shen Shuli turned her head away, her eyes reddening. She could feel his love—she refused to believe his past devotion had been nothing but a ploy to exploit her status as the Shen family’s heiress.

“Let’s take some time apart. Both of us need to cool down.”

“I’m perfectly calm. Tell me, what exactly happened? I can explain everything. Just ask, and I won’t hide a single word from you.”

Fu Yanci studied her flushed eyes, his heart aching to its core.

He wanted to speak, but she didn’t want to ask. The mere thought of those vile words made her nauseous—she couldn’t bear to utter them, let alone hear his hypocritical excuses. It would only disgust her beyond measure.

“I need space. I want to live alone for a while and think things through.”

“Is it because Mu Huaixu is back?”

Fu Yanci’s voice darkened, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he suppressed the shadows in his heart.

Shen Shuli stared at him blankly, her long lashes casting fragments of confusion under the light. “What are you talking about?”

“Because he’s returned, you regret the choice you made three years ago. You regret marrying me, don’t you?”

Fu Yanci pressed his tongue against the roof of his mouth with enough force to taste blood. The resentment, the jealousy—it was driving him to the brink of madness.

Shen Shuli bit her lip. This side of him felt utterly unfamiliar to her.

“Fu Yanci.”

“I could never give you up to him. Not three years ago, and certainly not now. Unless I die!”

Fu Yanci concealed the venom in his gaze, suppressing the fury that threatened to erupt. He feared that if he waited even a second longer, he might do something uncontrollable—something he would regret for the rest of his life, something that would hurt her.

“You…”

Shen Shuli didn’t know what to say anymore.

Fu Yanci curled his fingers around her hand. “You are mine. In life and death, you will always bear the mark of Fu Yanci. We can never be separated.”

Shen Shuli studied him, unable to discern whether his words were true or false.

“I knelt for three days and three nights to marry you. I will never let go of you in this lifetime. No matter who tries to tear us apart, I will never release your hand. You are the only light in Fu Yanci’s life.”

His gaze lingered on her, tender and lingering.

Shen Shuli lowered her eyes, her thoughts in chaos. She couldn’t make sense of their relationship—what was she supposed to do?

That child and that bowl of medicine stood like an insurmountable chasm between them, impossible to cross no matter what.

Late at night, while Fu Yanci was deep in sleep, she quietly got up and left the villa, returning alone to the South Suburb residence.

The next afternoon, Mu Huaixu arrived at the law firm as promised to discuss the case and the legal collaboration with Mu Corporation.

She didn’t mention anything about Fu Yanci, keeping the conversation strictly professional, formal and detached.

As the workday neared its end, they still hadn’t finished their discussion.

Fu Yanci’s dazzling Apollo was parked imposingly in front of the law firm, drawing a crowd of onlookers who dared not approach.

Leaning back in the driver’s seat, his eyes fixed on the front entrance, he pulled out his phone and called Shen Shuli.

The call connected quickly, met with a cold tone. “What is it?”

“Grandfather is organizing a family dinner today—”

Before he could finish, Shen Shuli cut him off sharply. “I’m not going!”

Without waiting for his response, she hung up.

A wicked smirk curled at Fu Yanci’s lips as he dialed Xu Zhun’s number, his voice icy. “Notify the head of Chaoyang Law Firm—have everyone leave immediately.”

Soon, movement stirred at the entrance as people began trickling out in twos and threes.

His eyes widened abruptly, and he straightened in his seat, scanning the crowd—because there, among them, was Mu Huaixu!

He really had come to see Shen Shuli!

Flames roared in Fu Yanci’s gaze, his teeth grinding audibly as his venomous stare tracked Mu Huaixu’s every step.

Suddenly, his phone rang. Glancing at the caller ID, his expression softened instantly.

“Wife.”

“Fu Yanci, are you insane? If you’re sick, go take your medicine!”

Shen Shuli’s furious voice crackled through the line.

“You are my medicine. I am sick, so I’ve come to find my cure.”

Amusement laced his tone as he teased her.

Shen Shuli was nearly beside herself with anger—her deep breaths were audible over the phone. “Do you really want me to curse you out that badly?”

“I do. Every word you say sounds as sweet as a nightingale’s song to me.”

His voice dripped with affection, his gaze tender.

“Fu Yanci, I want to kill you!”

Shen Shuli was barely containing her anger.

Fu Yanci chuckled softly. “Alright, do whatever you want to me on the bed tonight. I’ll carry you down now, okay, wifey?”

“Damn you, just wait!”

Shen Shuli hung up the phone immediately. When it came to shamelessness, she was no match for Fu Yanci.

Fu Yanci continued to laugh quietly, his eyes crinkling into a charming curve. The sight of her puffed-up, furious face only deepened the adoration in his gaze.

Shen Shuli yanked open the passenger door and got in, ready to unleash her fury. “Are you looking for troub—”

Before she could finish, Fu Yanci leaned over, pressing her against the windshield as he kissed her passionately, lost in the moment, wishing time would freeze forever.

Mu Huaixu, halfway down the road, suddenly remembered something important he had forgotten to tell Shen Shuli and turned back to find her.

His assistant, Li Xu, followed silently.

Just as they reached the law firm’s entrance, the sight of the entwined figures in the car rooted Mu Huaixu to the spot, unable to move for a long time.
