Chapter 15 Superstition, That’s a Jail Sentence
After thanking Jiang Xiangxiang, she left. No matter what, she should get the original owner’s father back first. As for Ye Meiping and her daughter, she didn’t really care about them.
Ye Meiping and Jiang Rourou disappeared for an afternoon; she didn’t know what they were doing, but it certainly wasn’t anything good. She’d better be careful.
Jiang Xiangxiang’s left eyelid kept twitching. After returning to the Jiang family, before she even entered the door, she saw a crack in the door. She remembered that she had closed the door when she left. What was going on?
Jiang Xiangxiang was cautious. She glanced at the pile of firewood by the door, pulled out a pine wood stick, stood aside, and directly pushed the door open.
Creak!
As soon as the door opened, a basin of black dog blood was thrown at her face. A fishy and foul smell instantly filled the air, extremely unpleasant.
Jiang Xiangxiang threw the stick on the ground in disgust, her expression unpleasant. She knew that the mother and daughter were up to no good, but she didn’t expect them to be so excessive. This was black dog blood, wasn’t it?
Ye Meiping stood in the yard with the basin, her face even uglier when she saw that she hadn’t hit her. She put her hands on her hips and cursed, “Hey, what kind of wandering ghost dares to occupy my daughter’s body? Get out, get out, get out!”
Jiang Xiangxiang: “Why are you only calling me your daughter now?”
Ye Meiping: “Jiang Xiangxiang, I am your mother!”
She didn’t want to admit it, but she had no choice. The fortune teller said that if she wanted Jiang Xiangxiang to return to her previous appearance, she had to do this.
Seeing Ye Meiping’s guilty and angry expression, Jiang Xiangxiang understood. She realized that she wasn’t her biological daughter and suspected that she was possessed by a ghost, wanting to drive her away.
Unfortunately, she herself didn’t know why she had transmigrated, nor did she know where her previous body had gone, so she couldn’t give her an answer.
As for driving her away, no way. She had finally gotten a chance to live again, and she wanted to make a name for herself in this era, so how could she leave?
Jiang Rourou held a black donkey hoof in each hand and rushed towards her: “You should leave and return my sister! Otherwise, we will be rude to you, and you will be scattered into ashes.”
Then, she started waving them around wildly.
Jiang Xiangxiang bypassed the pool of black dog blood, jumped into the yard, grabbed her hand, pulled her back, and snatched the black donkey hooves. These were only enough to scare three-year-olds.
Before Jiang Rourou could react, she found that the black donkey hooves, which their mother and daughter had bought at great expense, had been snatched away by Jiang Xiangxiang. Not only was Jiang Xiangxiang not afraid, but she also spun them around in her hand, looking very casual and not afraid at all.
“Jiang Xiangxiang!”
“Sister, I’m your sister, don’t you recognize me?” Jiang Xiangxiang said softly, “Have you forgotten how you bullied me? If you hadn’t pushed me, I wouldn’t have fallen into the river. Come to think of it, I should thank you. I’ve benefited from misfortune.”
“Ah, you’re talking nonsense!” How could Jiang Rourou admit that she pushed her? If it got out, how would she find a partner? The village gossip alone would drown her.
Therefore, she absolutely couldn’t admit it.
Seeing Jiang Rourou’s frantic look, Jiang Xiangxiang found it incredibly funny. She couldn’t handle it. She thought her white lotus sister was so powerful, but now it seemed she was nothing.
“Sister, don’t worry, I remember all the care you’ve given me over the years, and I will definitely take good care of you in the future.”
“I… what do you want?”
“What can I want? Don’t worry, you’ll find out soon.” Jiang Xiangxiang didn’t mind scaring her. The original owner was too honest, so she was bullied by them. But in her opinion, this was an unsolvable problem, nothing to say.
Jiang Rourou was frightened by her words. She had done so many wrong things over the years and had wronged Jiang Xiangxiang too many times. Now that Jiang Xiangxiang said this, it was like stepping on a cat’s tail, making her very uncomfortable.
Jiang Xiangxiang found it funny to see her changing expression. With such little courage, she dared to make trouble. She really wasn’t afraid of ghosts knocking on the door at night.
Seeing Jiang Rourou speechless, Ye Meiping stepped forward and lunged at her, trying to push her down.
After noticing her action, Jiang Xiangxiang slightly dodged, and Ye Meiping unexpectedly missed and fell to the ground, falling right onto the black dog blood, covering her head and face. Not a drop was wasted.
Jiang Xiangxiang looked disgusted: “Oh my, you’re not human, you only do animalistic things. My god, is black dog blood delicious?”
Ye Meiping was about to explode with anger. She got up and shouted, “Old woman Huang, what are you still doing? Come on, kill her! I want her to be scattered into ashes!”
Following her gaze, Jiang Xiangxiang noticed a little old woman hiding in the corner. Seeing her looking over, she glared with her triangular eyes and stabbed her with a peach wood sword.
It looked like she was about to stab her to death.
Jiang Xiangxiang seized her wrist, twisted it, and the peach wood sword was now across her neck.
“Little old woman, who are you?”
“You… you… you, let go!” Old woman Huang couldn’t react, her face was unsightly. “I tell you, I am ordered by the Jade Emperor to exorcise demons and eliminate evil spirits, you…”
“Save it, superstitious beliefs, that’s a jail sentence, believe it or not, I’ll report you.” Jiang Xiangxiang was a little annoyed. She thought they had great abilities, but it turned out they were nothing.
“Report?” Old woman Huang was dumbfounded. If she was reported, she might really go to jail for a few days. The government was cracking down hard, and she usually kept a low profile. If Ye Meiping and her daughter hadn’t given her so much money, she wouldn’t have come out.
“The police station should like someone like you. Why don’t you spend a few days there and let them teach you some legal knowledge?” Jiang Xiangxiang knew that this era was very strict about this aspect. There were also Red Guards. If they knew that Old woman Huang was promoting feudal superstition, she would be criticized and sent to jail.
Old woman Huang was scared and immediately begged for mercy: “I was wrong, Jiang Erya, I shouldn’t have listened to your mother’s nonsense and come to trouble you. Please let me go. I promise I will never bother you again, okay?”
Jiang Xiangxiang: “Are you sure? I feel like you’re lying. You don’t look like someone who won’t bother me again.”
Old woman Huang: “I swear, if I bother you again, then may I be struck by lightning and die a horrible death!”
Jiang Xiangxiang: “You’re alright, after all, we have no grudges between us, and I don’t have to kill you. But what about them? It seems like my mother and sister are not in a good mood and don’t want to agree. What do you think we should do?”
