Feng Wanqing was horrified and couldn’t believe that the woman across from her had such a powerful sword intent. Biting her teeth hard, Feng Wanqing didn’t have time to think. With a thought, a huge black beast suddenly appeared out of thin air, blocking her.
Feng Siyue narrowed her eyes slightly, and the fierce and unstoppable sword intent came to a halt. The sword energy only cut off a few hairs of the Lunar Ghost.
“Lunar Ghost! The divine beast Lunar Ghost has appeared!”
“What a majestic divine beast! Such a powerful aura!”
“This Lunar Ghost seems even bigger than the last time I saw it!”
The crowd looked up excitedly.
This Lunar Ghost was quite robust, almost half the size of the arena. It had horns like a ram on its head, but longer, blacker, and slightly curved, emitting a chilling light.
It seemed like it had just woken up, slowly opening its eyes after sensing the danger. It let out a low growl, and the ground beneath it was blown away.
Fortunately, Feng Siyue had sword energy protecting her, otherwise, she would have been splattered with saliva.
Its mouth was enormous, fitting for the most gluttonous Lunar Ghost. When it opened its mouth, it was almost as big as its large face.
Its fur was sleek and shiny, indicating it had been well-fed over the years.
Feng Siyue nodded slightly, showing her approval. It had been well taken care of.
“Hmph! Now you know to be afraid!”
Feng Wanqing appeared from behind the Lunar Ghost, a smirk on her face as she looked at Feng Siyue.
The fact that the other party hadn’t made a move must mean she was intimidated by her Lunar Ghost.
The Lunar Ghost is a divine beast, and the pressure it exudes is not something ordinary people can bear. Some people would be immobilized by the presence of a divine beast, and Feng Wanqing thought Feng Siyue belonged to this category.
If she had known this, she should have brought out the Lunar Ghost earlier. Otherwise, the Qing Shuang Sword given to her by her second royal brother wouldn’t have been destroyed, and the other party wouldn’t have had such a moment to shine!
Seeing the fragments of the Qing Shuang Sword on the ground, Feng Wanqing ground her teeth and loudly commanded the Lunar Ghost, “Go teach her a lesson!”
She hoped it would scare the other party so much that they would run away in fear, and then stomp on her until her guts spilled out!
However, to her surprise, the Lunar Ghost didn’t move at all and ignored her command!
Feng Siyue suddenly chuckled and moved her delicate fingers slightly. The sword hovering in front of the Lunar Ghost also moved.
“Be careful!”
Feng Wanqing shouted in terror, not expecting the other party to not be suppressed by the divine beast’s pressure. She feared the Lunar Ghost might get hurt because she had personally felt that terrifying sword intent earlier, which made her feel like she had stepped into the gates of hell for a moment!
However, the sword did not strike the Lunar Ghost. Instead, it replaced Feng Siyue’s hand and gently scratched under its chin.
The Lunar Ghost comfortably closed its eyes, wishing it could roll on the ground a few times.
But it was a divine beast and couldn’t afford to lose face like that.
The woman across from it felt so familiar. It was as if she was its true master, and it really wanted to follow her.
The Lunar Ghost was only five years old, and divine beasts only reached adulthood at 500 years old. So, it was currently equivalent to a human child.
However, this tall and robust “child” looked fierce and intimidating, easily making people overlook its age.
Under Feng Siyue’s sword, it comfortably stretched its limbs and closed its eyes, looking extremely well-behave and harmless, which surprised everyone.
What just happened?
Didn’t the Lunar Ghost just growl a moment ago? Why didn’t it attack?
Everyone was so surprised. They all thought they were about to witness the majestic display of a divine beast in action, but instead, nothing happened.
Feng Wanqing, in particular, was dumbfounded and speechless.
“Attack! This woman destroyed my sword, go kill her!”
Feng Wanqing desperately sent telepathic messages to the Lunar Ghost, urging it to act quickly.
She was furious. Usually, it didn’t listen to her, but how could it not distinguish between friend and foe at such a crucial moment?
For the past five years, she had been spending all her resources on the Lunar Ghost. She used to save a lot of spirit stones, but now she spent them all on buying demon crystals for it to eat.
She had fattened it up, and yet it refused to do any work!
She also worried about what the spectators below might think. Would they suspect that the Lunar Ghost wasn’t her companion beast?
“If you don’t attack, I’ll cut off your food supply! I’ll let you starve!”
Feng Wanqing threatened angrily.
“If you dare to starve me, I’ll store energy and hibernate!”
The usually indifferent Lunar Ghost finally sent a message back to her mind, which almost made her faint from anger.
If it hibernated to store energy, her cultivation wouldn’t easily improve!
She had initially dug out Feng Siyue’s spiritual sea between her eyebrows, forcibly recognizing the divine egg with her blood. She thought that once the Lunar Ghost hatched, it would call her master. But it was as stubborn as a mule and refused to acknowledge her, even trying to escape from her!
How could she let the Lunar Ghost escape? On the day it hatched, because she had recognized it with her blood, her cultivation had surged several levels. Since then, her talent for cultivation had also improved significantly.
So, she found the treasures Feng Siyue had used and deceived the Lunar Ghost by saying that its master had died and had entrusted it to her before passing away.
Although the Lunar Ghost was a divine beast, it had only just been born and was quite easy to deceive. It actually believed her and clutched the treasure, crying sadly.
However, despite the Lunar Ghost staying with her, it was very rebellious. It often disobeyed her and ignored her commands. It refused to fight others when told to, and it was incredibly lazy for a divine beast, with its fat growing thicker by the day.
It also frequently went into hibernation. Whenever it did, her cultivation talent would revert to its original state, and her cultivation speed would slow down.
Not long ago, because the Lunar Ghost was hibernating, she had been unable to break through her bottleneck.
So, how could she let the Lunar Ghost hibernate? Once it hibernated, it would last longer than its usual sleep state!
Thinking about this, Feng Wanqing’s face turned green with frustration. It was too distressing!
Since she couldn’t command the Lunar Ghost, she had to think of another way.
“Senior brothers and sisters, my Lunar Ghost has a gentle nature and doesn’t want to kill in a sparring match. Let’s not waste any more time. Everyone, let’s continue the match!”
She didn’t explicitly target Feng Siyue, but those in her team understood that they needed to work together now!
Seeing Feng Wanqing trying to save face, Feng Siyue smiled and said,
“You said you could defeat me on your own. It seems that the so-called number one genius girl in the world is not that impressive after all.”
Then, pointing at the Lunar Ghost, she added, “This divine beast seems to have a strong connection with me, as if there’s a predestined relationship between us. Yet it doesn’t obey you. Feng Wanqing, are you sure it’s really your companion beast?”
Are you sure it’s really your companion beast?
Feng Siyue’s casual remark felt like an invisible hand had tightly gripped Feng Wanqing’s heart.
She was panicked because the Lunar Ghost was not her companion beast. She had forcibly taken it. Over the years, whenever others mentioned the Lunar Ghost, she felt guilty, fearing that someone might discover the truth.
No, no one would find out!
