As Feng Siyue stepped through the door, everyone’s gaze followed her inside.
As expected, this was the main chamber of the Demon Lord’s tomb. The space was immense, and the first thing that caught the eye was a black stone coffin in the center, intricately carved with patterns, surrounded by an impenetrable, thick aura of yin energy.
Feng Siyue’s gaze swept across the chamber, and everyone suddenly noticed that the walls were lined with dozens of green-faced, fang-baring zombies. A rough count revealed at least several dozen, causing everyone to break out in goosebumps.
Even though they were not inside, everyone felt a tense sense of fear. However, Feng Siyue’s expression didn’t change at all as she walked straight towards the black coffin.
At that moment, everyone’s hearts were in their throats. The sound of Feng Siyue’s footsteps echoed in the vast chamber, as if each step was pounding on the hearts of those outside.
Suddenly, the zombies emitted a sound of bone movement, as if they were awakening, and opened their scarlet eyes.
“Heavens! What are these things!”
“They are Red-Eyed Flying Corpses! Han Yue, run!”
Someone on the square shouted in terror, hoping that the person inside could hear them.
Zombies are classified into several types: the steel-like, purple-skinned Purple Zombie; the White and Black Zombies, which have been dead for decades; the Green Zombie, which has been dead for a century and emits a green corpse aura; the Hairy Zombie, which has copper-like skin, iron-like bones, and grows hair, and can cultivate on its own; and the Flying Zombie, which has achieved cultivation and is proficient in spells, has an indestructible body, and can fly.
There are also the Undead Bones, which do not decay for a thousand years and absorb the essence of the sun and moon to wreak havoc; and the Wandering Corpse, which remains immortal for a thousand years, cannot move, and absorbs the essence of the sun and moon.
The Ba, a type of zombie that is almost demonic, is formed when a Flying Corpse absorbs essence for hundreds of years. Its appearance becomes increasingly ferocious, with a green face and fangs, resembling a man-eating Rakshasa. It can change its form and appearance to deceive others, and is capable of slaughtering dragons and causing droughts. It can also summon plague gods.
Most importantly, they have their own intelligence and are extremely difficult to deal with, with a cultivation level equivalent to that of a Martial Emperor.
Compared to the Martial King-level Evil Shadow Bats outside, these Red-Eyed Flying Corpses were the truly formidable and terrifying creatures.
Unexpectedly, the Demon Lord’s tomb contained so many fearsome Flying Corpses. They had almost no weaknesses, and unless Han Yue was stronger than all of them, she was doomed.
But how could that be possible?
Han Yue was still very young. Even if she was a genius cultivator, she could at most be at the Martial King level. Being targeted by dozens of Martial Emperor-level Flying Corpses, she was certainly doomed to die!
Moreover, Han Yue’s Heavenly Mystery Sword, which was specifically designed to suppress evil spirits, was still sealed in the Sword Tomb. She had absolutely no chance of turning the tables!
“Quick, break the talisman! Why are you still standing there? Are you too scared to move?”
Someone shouted anxiously.
The disciples from the Vast Academy, the Five Poisons Sect, and the Seven Treasures Pavilion were secretly delighted.
It would be best if she was too scared to break the talisman and died inside!
Lu Chen and Lan Yi were both anxious, but Di Xuan Shang remained expressionless.
For some reason, he had an inexplicable trust in her. He felt in his heart that Han Yue wouldn’t be scared stiff. Her gaze was so calm; perhaps under her veil, she was smiling, thinking that everything in front of her was like ants.
Di Xuan Shang’s guess was correct. As all the Red-Eyed Flying Corpses turned their heads to look at Feng Siyue, she was also looking at them.
Hmm, the essence within them was a valuable thing. Unexpectedly, Ouyang Feng’s semi-sacred scroll contained millennia-old Flying Corpses. On this continent, these Flying Corpses would have been hunted down long ago.
In the Ghost Realm, there were many of these creatures, but unfortunately, the Red-Eyed Flying Corpses were intelligent and liked to appear in groups. She could only capture the lone Flying Corpses.
Now, with dozens of Flying Corpses in front of her, she felt an irresistible urge to capture them all, like a child seeing a delicious treat.
As all the Red-Eyed Flying Corpses lunged at her, everyone’s eyes widened. They saw her raise her hands, and the yin energy in the surroundings surged into her hands with lightning speed, entering her body.
“She… she is actually absorbing the yin energy from the tomb chamber!”
“Don’t forget, she is the heir of the Guidao Secret Sect!”
“Could she have a way to deal with these Flying Corpses?”
Everyone held their breath, not daring to blink, afraid of missing something.
Han Yue’s speed of absorbing yin energy was astonishingly fast. In an instant, all the yin energy in the tomb chamber was absorbed, and even the yin energy around the black stone coffin surged towards her. The movements of the Red-Eyed Flying Corpses slowed down dramatically.
This was because all zombies had a characteristic: they submitted to stronger members of their kind.
Those who cultivated with yin energy and the essence of heaven and earth were considered their kind.
They stayed here because the Demon Lord was very powerful, which was their natural instinct.
Others might not understand this, but Feng Siyue did. Before joining, she had studied various types of zombies!
Everyone in the square was dumbfounded, unable to believe what they were seeing.
At this moment, no one was paying attention to the other disciples. All their spiritual senses were drawn to Han Yue.
“Won’t she be overwhelmed by the yin energy?” someone couldn’t help but ask.
This was the question on everyone’s mind.
The yin energy in this main tomb chamber was more concentrated than anywhere else, especially near the coffin. It was probably condensed yin energy accumulated over millions of years, and it was still being continuously absorbed by Han Yue.
Because from the outside, they couldn’t sense Han Yue’s cultivation level, but with the naked eye, they could see her cultivation level rising step by step.
However, this rise was certainly not permanent. It was like taking a pill that forcibly increased one’s cultivation level, which had a time limit and was extremely harmful to the body.
Yet, they didn’t see Han Yue being overwhelmed. Instead, the yin energy around her became increasingly dense, and her figure was almost invisible. The yin energy around the stone coffin became thinner and thinner, eventually revealing the true form of the coffin.
It was a transparent crystal coffin!
Because it was shrouded in yin energy, people naturally assumed it was black. However, after Han Yue absorbed the yin energy, it turned out to be transparent, and inside lay a tall male figure!
“That… that must be the Demon Lord!”
Unfortunately, the Demon Lord’s face was covered with black yin energy, making it impossible to see if he had awakened.
But this was already enough to send chills down everyone’s spine.
It gave a sense of urgency, as if he was about to emerge at any moment.
Crack!
Suddenly, there was a crisp sound, and when people realized what had happened, they were instantly dumbfounded.
Heavens, it was a head that had fallen to the ground and rolled a couple of times.
It was the head of a Flying Corpse!
And the one who had snapped their necks was none other than Han Yue!
