The two of them set off together.
“Jiang Cheng from Tai Xu Sect is really a good person. He is willing to share such a great place with Han Yue.”
“Tsk, what a fool. Han Yue has many tricks up her sleeve. Who knows, she might be leading a wolf into the house.”
“Exactly, do you think Han Yue is a good person? Jiang Cheng will definitely regret saving her!”
These remarks came from the sect disciples who had been defeated by Feng Siyue. Seeing that she had not died in the Demon Lord’s tomb but was instead rescued by a disciple from Tai Xu Sect filled them with a sense of loss and anger.
“Xuan Shang, I have a feeling that this Jiang Cheng isn’t a good person.”
Lu Chen stroked his chin, thinking that Jiang Cheng was being a bit too eager.
“Wait, isn’t Tai Xu Sect a branch of the former Suo Xin Sect? Could he have bad intentions towards the mistress?” Lan Yi blurted out.
But as soon as he said it, he regretted it and cautiously looked at his master.
To his surprise, his master remained calm and said lightly, “She probably knows. Maybe there will be a good show for you to watch soon.”
Lu Chen and Lan Yi widened their eyes. How did he figure that out? Were they not watching the same scene? Why couldn’t they see anything?
Or was it that Han Yue’s acting was so good that no one but him could tell what she was thinking?
Inside the scroll, Feng Siyue followed Jiang Cheng to the place he mentioned.
It was a very hidden cave, and sure enough, there was a formation outside. Jiang Cheng entered the cave, tried to activate the formation, and then asked Feng Siyue to attack the formation’s barrier.
Feng Siyue swung her sword, but the sword intent was deflected back. She dodged just in time, and the sword intent behind her cut down several large trees.
She glanced at the trees behind her, shook her slightly numb hand, and concluded, “This formation barrier is indeed very strong. It should be able to withstand a full-force attack from a peak Martial King cultivator.”
Jiang Cheng opened the formation from inside, and the barrier disappeared. He smiled at Feng Siyue and said, “Miss Han Yue, I told you I wasn’t lying. The spiritual energy here is very dense, perfect for cultivation. We can hide here and cultivate for now, and when the number of people outside decreases, we can leave.”
Under Jiang Cheng’s expectant gaze, Feng Siyue considered for a moment and then agreed.
“Senior Brother Jiang is right. The competition has just begun, and we need to conserve our strength. However, I can’t always take advantage of Senior Brother. I don’t have much to offer, but I’ll give you a sixth-grade pill when we part ways.”
“Junior Sister, there’s no need to be so polite. I said I’m helping you because I admire you. Your politeness is making me uncomfortable.”
Jiang Cheng smiled and scratched his head, looking a bit embarrassed, as if he didn’t know how to interact with women.
“Alright, I won’t say more. I’ll remember Senior Brother Jiang’s kindness. Senior Brother, do you mind if I take a look at the formation?”
“Of course not, go ahead.” With that, Jiang Cheng stepped aside to let her examine the formation.
“Junior Sister knows about formations too?”
“A little.”
Feng Siyue touched around the formation and said, “This formation is intact, so we should be safe for now.”
“Yes, we’re really lucky. Since the formation is fine, let’s go in quickly. The disturbance at the Demon Lord’s tomb was quite large, and it might attract others.”
“Good.”
Feng Siyue followed Jiang Cheng into the cave. Jiang Cheng activated the formation from behind, and a barrier appeared at the entrance, like a water curtain.
The cave was not very large and was somewhat dark and damp. Feng Siyue took out a night pearl and placed it on the wall, illuminating the cave brightly.
With the light, the interior of the cave became clearer. There was nothing inside except for a stone bed that was relatively dry, with some straw or other dry grass laid out on it.
“We definitely can’t sit on the ground. Junior Sister, you should meditate on the stone bed. Don’t worry, I won’t take advantage of you.” Jiang Cheng said in a very gentlemanly manner.
“What about you, Senior Brother Jiang?”
“I’ll go to the entrance of the cave… Ah!”
Jiang Cheng suddenly let out a painful cry and looked down to see a venomous snake biting his leg.
With a flash of her sword, Feng Siyue cut the snake in half.
“Are you alright, Senior Brother Jiang? What kind of snake is this? Why is your face turning red?”
Feng Siyue asked with concern, but she did not move a step closer.
“I’m… I’m fine…”
Jiang Cheng waved his hand, stumbling a few steps. He thought Feng Siyue would come to help him, but she didn’t move at all. He had to steady himself by holding onto the wall.
At that moment, a hissing sound came from all around. Jiang Cheng hurriedly shouted, “Junior Sister, be careful! There seem to be more venomous snakes!”
As soon as he finished speaking, there were already several dead snakes on the ground, and more were emerging to bite Feng Siyue. However, none of them were faster than her. In just a moment, there was a pile of snake corpses on the ground.
Seeing the snakes becoming fewer, Jiang Cheng’s expression changed.
Are these snakes all useless?
He reached for the whip at his waist, prepared to use force if necessary.
“Ah!”
Suddenly, Feng Siyue cried out and cut the venomous snake biting her leg with her sword.
“Junior Sister, were you bitten too?”
Hearing her cry, Jiang Cheng quickly withdrew his hand from his waist and asked anxiously with a worried expression.
“Senior Brother Jiang, I’m fine. The snake is dead. Quickly go and open the barrier to prevent more venomous creatures from coming out.” Feng Siyue said weakly, supporting herself with her sword.
“Alright, hang in there!” Jiang Cheng obediently staggered to the formation, and soon after, his distressed voice came, “Junior Sister, something’s wrong! It seems the snake’s blood has activated the formation, and it won’t open!”
A flicker of disdain passed through Feng Siyue’s eyes, and she thought to herself: This acting is too exaggerated. If you’re going to act, can’t you put some effort into it?
“How could this happen?” Feng Siyue played along with Jiang Cheng’s act, showing a shocked expression and pretending to stumble towards the entrance.
She examined the formation and saw that there was indeed a problem. It couldn’t be opened from the inside like before, and there was snake blood on it, but whether it was because of the snake blood, only Jiang Cheng would know!
“Junior Sister Han Yue, I think we’ve been poisoned by the Enchanting Snake.” Jiang Cheng’s face was flushed red, his forehead sweating, and he tugged at his collar.
“What? An Enchanting Snake?” Feng Siyue exclaimed, stepping back in surprise.
Meanwhile, on the square, there were continuous exclamations.
“Han Yue is really unlucky to encounter the legendary Enchanting Snake in such a situation!”
“Yes, I’m afraid the two of them…”
“Now that the barrier is broken and both of them are poisoned by the Enchanting Snake, they can only relieve the poison by… you know, that. Isn’t that…”
“Wow, a live show in public, that’s exciting to think about!”
“Haha, this is too interesting. Han Yue’s figure under her long skirt seems to be quite good. We might get a good view…”
