Chapter 16: Luo Sang’s Taboo
Coincidentally, Luo Sang had returned just as Fei Li brought the fish back.
Before Fei Li could even tell Luo Sang about it, Luo Sang had thrown both him and the fish out of the house.
Rubbing his sore butt, Fei Li protested, “What are you doing?”
“What’s that you’re holding?” Luo Sang frowned, glaring at the fish in his hand.
The wolf tribe had an exceptionally keen sense of smell, and Luo Sang was particularly sensitive to the smell of fish.
Fei Li held up the fish. “I caught this from the river specially for you. I wanted to make it for you to eat.”
After days of eating nothing but roasted meat, he wanted to try something different.
Luo Sang’s brow furrowed so deeply it seemed capable of squashing a mosquito, and a cold glint of killing intent appeared in his eyes.
What’s this about?
It’s just a fish!
Was it really enough to make Luo Sang react this way?
“What’s wrong with you?” Fei Li cautiously held the fish, not daring to approach Luo Sang, fearing for his life.
After glaring at him fiercely, Luo Sang turned back into the house.
Having been inexplicably thrown out, Fei Li dared not go back inside and could only squat outside the house.
At this moment, there’s an occasional passerby in the tribe looked at him with strange expressions.
Feeling frightened by their stares, he grabbed Mao Li, intending to ask what was going on, but Mao Li pushed him away.
Mao Li, looking horrified, took a few steps back and glared at the fish in Fei Li’s hand. “How dare you bring such a thing into the tribe? Do you want to die?”
It seemed that the tribe’s orcs all had a strong aversion to fish.
Except for Yin Lang!
Since Yin Lang had made him bring the fish back to present to Luo Sang, it must have been part of Yin Lang’s scheme.
But what was the deal with the fish?
“Why can’t I bring fish back? Are you all afraid of fish?” he asked in confusion.
Seeing that Fei Li had once saved his partner, Mao Li pulled him away from Luo Sang’s house and led him to a secluded corner.
“Lord Luo Sang dislikes fish, so the orcs of our tribe never catch fish. Today, you’ve broken Lord Luo Sang’s taboo,” Mao Li said with a sympathetic look.
Fei Li stared at the large, plump fish in his hand, saliva dripping down.
Fish can not only be roasted but also used to make fish soup. How could anyone dislike fish?
Leaning closer to Mao Li, he asked quietly, “Lord Luo Sang, why does he dislike fish?”
“Um… I don’t know either. You’d better not ask me,” Mao Li replied.
With that, Mao Li glanced at him and hurriedly left.
This secret is known only to the wolf orcs of the tribe. Because everyone understands Lord Luo Sang’s pain, they are reluctant to mention it.
All the orcs in the tribe tacitly avoid touching Lord Luo Sang’s taboos.
As soon as Mao Li left, Fei Li looked at the fish with his mouth watering. But he dared not roast it in the tribe and could only gaze at it to satisfy his craving.
At that moment, a figure quickly approached him. “Did you give it to Luo Sang? Did he like it?”
It was that voice again!
He glared at Yin Lang with irritation, “You…”
His butt still ached slightly, and he glared fiercely at Yin Lang.
Yin Lang smiled, lifting Fei Li’s chin with his finger. “If you really like eating fish, come with me. With me, you can eat whatever you want. I won’t stop you, and I’ll treat you better than that barbaric orc Luo Sang.”
Yin Lang had a more delicate appearance, unlike Luo Sang, who exuded rugged masculinity.
With this kind of looks, in modern times, he would be highly sought after, but Fei Li had no interest in admiring them right now.
“Is that so? How well can you treat him?”
A cold voice made him shiver, pulling all his thoughts back.
