Chapter 110: Not as good as yours
“Is it delicious?”
Fei Li nodded, casually taking a piece of green fruit and stuffing it into Luo Sang’s mouth. “I picked this after working hard on the mountain, of course, it’s delicious.”
As he spoke, he unconsciously thought of Su Li’s green melon.
The green melons here are somewhat similar to modern watermelons but also a bit different.
The green melons are much smaller than watermelons, about the size of a modern orange.
Every time he thought about Luo Sang misunderstanding his relationship with Su Li, he felt a tightness in his chest.
Luo Sang handed him another piece of green fruit, but he didn’t open his mouth, looking at Luo Sang with an expression of annoyance.
“What’s wrong?” Luo Sang frowned slightly.
He turned to Luo Sang and said, “I really don’t like Su Li.”
“Hmm!”
“You believe me?” Fei Li was slightly surprised.
“Hmm.”
“Then…” Fei Li said in a spoiled tone, “Can I eat Su Li’s green melon?”
His foodie nature was exposed once again.
At this moment, Fei Li’s eyes were wide open, looking at Luo Sang with a longing expression, making him look cute and amusing.
Luo Sang reached up to stroke his long black hair, “Maybe seeing your long hair has made my hair grow quite a bit too.”
Upon hearing this, Fei Li looked at Luo Sang’s hair.
Luo Sang’s hair, while not as long as his own, had grown much longer than before.
Suddenly, Fei Li pulled a small tuft of hair from his own head and then plucked a tuft from Luo Sang’s head.
“What are you doing?”
With a mysterious smile at Luo Sang, he tied the two tufts of hair together.
He placed the knotted hair into Luo Sang’s palm.
“In my hometown, there’s a traditional custom. When two people get married, they each take a strand of hair from their heads, tie them together, and then they become a married couple, also known as ‘tied hair spouses.'”
Tying hair as a couple, love is unquestioned.
He hoped that he and Luo Sang could also be inseparable in love.
Luo Sang looked at the black strands in his palm and then at Fei Li.
“From now on, we are tied hair spouses. No matter what happens, we will be together, no one can separate us.” Luo Sang carefully kept their black hair strands and hugged him tightly.
He rested his head against Luo Sang’s sturdy chest, listening to the strong beating of his heart. “So, will you still misunderstand that I like Su Li in the future?”
“No, I won’t.”
Luo Sang was somewhat moved, was he doing all this just to reassure himself?
“Then… let’s eat the green melon together to prove that you really don’t mind.”
Was he really doing all this just for the green melon?
Before Luo Sang could sort out his thoughts, Fei Li happily got out of bed and brought several green melons from the corner of the room.
In front of Luo Sang, he cut the green melons open one by one, then took some ice cubes from the water jar.
He placed the cut green melons and ice cubes together in a stone bowl and cheerfully brought the chilled green melon to Luo Sang. “You try it first.” He held a piece of green melon near Luo Sang’s mouth.
Luo Sang looked at the green melon, hesitated for a moment, but still ate it.
The icy, sweet green melon slid into his mouth, and the flavor immediately spread in his mouth.
A fleeting look of surprise appeared on Luo Sang’s originally composed face, which Fei Li caught.
He looked at Luo Sang with a smile, “Is it good?”
“It’s not as good as your flavor.”
His little face turned bright red, Luo Sang really knew how to flirt with someone.
The two spent the day sweet-talking each other until the sun began to set. Only when the sun had fully set did Fei Li dare to step out of the house.
At this moment, a hint of red clouds hung in the sky, and a cool breeze unexpectedly swept in.
Fei Li stretched his arms and turned back to Luo Sang. “I’m going to check the rice fields to see when the rice can be harvested, so I won’t patrol the tribe with you.” After receiving Luo Sang’s agreement, Fei Li walked toward the rice fields.
Standing on the ridge, Fei Li looked at the golden rice and felt overwhelmed with joy.
With rice, he could have white rice to eat and also make a series of things like rice wine and rice cakes.
Thinking of this, a picture appeared in his mind.
On a summer night, accompanied by a gentle cool breeze.
He and Luo Sang sat on the ground, a campfire burning in front of them, enjoying delicious barbecue with rice wine.
This was simply the life of a deity!
“Are you drooling over the rice?”
A mocking voice interrupted him, and he immediately turned around to see Su Li walking over with a bright smile.
Seeing Su Li, he suddenly felt a bit angry. “What are you doing here?”
Hearing the unkind tone in his voice, Su Li didn’t take offense and wore a faint smile.
He then turned his gaze to the golden rice in the field. “I didn’t expect you to be able to grow rice. In the past, you couldn’t do anything except study. My precious person has changed so much.”
Su Li’s last remark was particularly quiet, Fei Li could only hear him mumbling and didn’t catch what he said.
Seeing him being so peculiar, Fei Li didn’t want to engage.
“There are at least two acres of land here, how do you plan to harvest the rice?”
Upon hearing this, Fei Li fell into deep thought.
When planting rice, he gathered all the labor from the tribe.
However, harvesting rice not only takes effort but also requires a certain level of skill. Relying solely on himself, he didn’t know when he would be able to finish the harvest.
Currently, the tribe’s food supplies are running low.
Luo Sang was about to lead the orcs of the tribe out to hunt for food, and the manpower for harvesting the rice became tight.
“I can help you.”
Fei Li turned to look at Su Li. “You?”
He surveyed Su Li from top to bottom with a questioning gaze, finding it hard to imagine the delicate and tender Su Li harvesting rice.
“Can you really do it?”
“Although this is a primitive society, work shouldn’t rely solely on physical labor.”
Fei Li asked, “So you have a plan?”
With a smile, Su Li shared his harvesting plan with him.
After listening, Fei Li’s gaze towards Su Li held a hint of admiration.
As expected of a highly educated person, this plan was feasible.
Fei Li hurried back to the tribe, and Luo Sang walked towards him.
Having patrolled the tribe, Luo Sang was worried about Fei Li and wanted to bring him home. Before he could leave the tribe, he spotted Fei Li. He quickly walked toward Luo Sang and spoke before Luo Sang could say anything, “We need to gather the people of the tribe right away.”
Huh? Luo Sang looked at him in confusion.
With no time to explain, Fei Li pulled Luo Sang to find Mao Li, feeling most at ease delegating tasks to him.
Moments later, Mao Li gathered the orcs and humans of the tribe in front of the house.
Fei Li counted the number of people and looked at Luo Sang with a defeated expression. “When do you plan to take people out to hunt for food?”
“Do you want to go?”
Fei Li shook his head. “I want to stay and harvest rice, but I need some help.”
“I can wait until you finish harvesting rice before going to hunt for food.”
He shook his head again. “No need, no need.”
The tribe’s food supplies were already low, if everyone went hungry due to insufficient food, that would be his fault. After thinking for a moment, he spoke again, “You should set off the day after tomorrow! Tomorrow, I want the orcs of the tribe to help me with something.”
“Okay, you make the arrangements.”
With a smile toward Luo Sang, he turned back to the gathered crowd and explained the tasks for the next day.
The orcs of the tribe were already planning to go out hunting and were mostly unwilling to waste their energy at this moment.
But out of respect for Luo Sang, everyone had no choice but to agree.
The next day, early in the morning.
Fei Li got up early, tidied up a bit, and even made breakfast for Luo Sang.
With his stone knife in hand, he was about to head out.
“Fei Li.”
He turned back to look at Luo Sang. “What’s wrong?”
“Don’t push yourself too hard, I’ll wait for you to come back.”
He nodded and quickly left the house.
Once Fei Li left, Luo Sang also stepped out of the house.
Fei Li arrived at the designated meeting place and frowned when he found it empty.
Looking up at the distant horizon, he originally planned to take everyone up the mountain to cut some bamboo before the sun rose. But now, not a single person had arrived, and he stood there patiently waiting.
Mao Li had just come out of his house when he ran into Luo Sang, startling him enough to take a step back.
“Luo… Luo Sang, Lord? Why are you here so early?”
Luo Sang had a habit of patrolling the tribe, but he shouldn’t be patrolling right at his own doorstep, right?
“Go tell everyone to cooperate well with Fei Li.”
Mao Li: “…”
He came all the way here just to say that?
The tribe had a rule that orcs needed to rest at home the day before going out to hunt, so they could conserve their energy and focus on hunting for food.
Although everyone verbally agreed to Fei Li, they certainly wouldn’t show up on time.
Luo Sang had anticipated this early on, which is why he came to find Mao Li.
Moreover, apart from the orcs that Fei Li had previously helped, the other orcs still held some grievances against him.
Luo Sang was fully aware of these situations.
Yet, behind the scenes, he quietly resolved all the issues for Fei Li, allowing him to work freely.
Seeing that Mao Li was still dazed in place, Luo Sang furrowed his brow. “If you don’t want to go, I’ll find Mu Dong.”
As soon as he said this, Luo Sang made a move to leave.
“I’ll go, I’ll go.”
With the leader having spoken, Mao Li dared not disobey.
About an hour later, Mao Li finally led the orcs to the designated spot.
Because Mao Li had already clarified the stakes with everyone in advance, they didn’t dare to act recklessly.
Seeing that everyone had arrived, Fei Li smiled and said, “I know everyone will be going out to hunt tomorrow, so I’m really sorry for making you all work today.” The orcs remained silent, but their dissatisfaction was evident on their faces.
Fei Li didn’t say much more, since everyone was here, he had to make use of them.
He led the group up the mountain, heading straight for the bamboo grove.
Due to Fei Li’s frequent trips to the mountain, they didn’t take long to reach the bamboo forest.
Once in the bamboo grove, he carefully selected the bamboo and made marks, then returned to the group.
“I’ll cut down all the marked bamboo and bring it back to the tribe.”
Looking at the bamboo the size of their arms, no one immediately stepped forward.
Some who were dissatisfied with Fei Li even coldly remarked, “What’s the point of cutting so much bamboo? We’re going out to hunt tomorrow, and today we’re wasting our strength.”
“Exactly.”
“There’s nothing we can do, after all, he’s the leader’s partner.”
First it was planting rice, and now it was cutting bamboo.
With Fei Li, the work just kept piling up, and everyone gradually grew more unhappy.
Fei Li’s expression darkened, looking somewhat grim.
Recalling Luo Sang’s instructions before leaving, Mao Li immediately stepped forward…
