Chapter 115: The Exiled Orc
“Simi, what have you done?”
Wuze rushed over, just in time to hear Simi’s earlier words.
Stepping forward, Wuze stood in front of Simi, “Simi, did you make a mistake again? Have you forgotten what I told you?”
“Lord Wuze, I didn’t do anything. I swear I didn’t.”
Wuze’s unfounded accusations felt like a sharp blade stabbing Simi’s heart.
Compared to the complaints from Joey and the others, Wuze’s words hurt Simi even more, filling him with a sense of injustice.
With a cold expression, Wuze was about to continue berating Simi when Fei Li intervened just in time.
“Calm down. I believe in Simi’s words, things may not be as you think.”
Upon hearing this, Joey and the others’ expressions changed, but they quickly concealed their true emotions.
“Lord Fei Li, what do you mean? Are you implying that you doubt our honesty and that we are wronging this orc?” Joey’s arrogance remained undiminished.
“Yes.”
The other humans beside Joey exchanged glances, realizing that Fei Li’s approach was not what they expected.
Fei Li patted Simi on the shoulder, giving him a look of trust, and then turned his gaze to Wuze.
“Wuze, you are already a member of the tribe. You don’t have to worry about anyone. Luo Sang and I will treat every member of the tribe fairly.”
Wuze opened his lips, but the words that moved him remained unspoken.
Turning back to Joey and the others, Fei Li became serious, “We are all members of the same tribe. If anyone maliciously wrongs another, neither Luo Sang nor I will let it go lightly.”
He displayed the authority of a leader’s partner, which genuinely intimidated Joey and the others.
Not giving them a chance to continue their excuses, he continued, “I will ask one last time: what happened just now?”
He would not wrong anyone nor would he shield anyone.
As the partner of the tribe’s leader, he needed to avoid tarnishing Luo Sang’s reputation and handle these matters fairly.
The people beside Joey gradually lowered their heads, afraid to speak, while Joey kept his head held high, showing no fear.
Seeing this demeanor, Fei Li immediately understood who the instigator was.
He smiled at Joey, “Joey, you’ve been in the tribe for a while, haven’t you? You should know Luo Sang’s principles better than anyone. Do not provoke Luo Sang’s bottom line, understood?”
His words were polite, but everyone present understood the implications clearly.
Joey’s face changed abruptly, and his confident demeanor faded significantly.
Seeing Joey silent, Fei Li seized the moment, “Who started the trouble first? As long as you admit it and apologize to the other party, I will not pursue today’s matter. Otherwise…”
His sharp gaze swept over Joey and the others, and he didn’t continue speaking. Those who had initially stood with Joey immediately backed down and hurriedly apologized to Simi.
Smirking slightly, Fei Li turned to Joey, “Then what about you?”
Joey clenched his hands, reluctantly glancing at Simi.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it.”
As he finished speaking, Joey rolled his eyes.
His forced attitude completely drained Fei Li’s patience.
Fei Li raised his foot and kicked Joey hard, sending him crashing to the ground.
Joey, now on the ground, glared at him with fierce eyes, “You…”
“What about me?” Fei Li lazily asked, raising an eyebrow.
Joey clenched his mouth tightly, grinding his back teeth in frustration.
Pushing himself up from the ground, Joey reined in his aggression.
“Lord Fei Li, you’re right to discipline me. So, can I leave now?”
“Feel free.”
Joey limped past him and walked away.
Once they were gone, Simi dropped to his knees in front of Fei Li, his eyes red.
“Lord Fei Li, I know you’re a good person who genuinely wants to accept our tribe.”
“We’ve been in the tribe for so long, and whether human or orc, they dare to bully us. Lord Wuze always tells us to endure, but we are orcs, our nature does not allow us to not fight back.”
Wuze, with a serious expression, glared at Simi, “Simi, what nonsense are you talking about? Don’t create trouble for Lord Fei Li.”
“Lord Wuze, wake up! You’re always unwilling to trouble the leader, but these humans are practically climbing over us.”
“You…” Wuze was momentarily speechless.
Wuze looked at Fei Li, “You don’t have to listen to Simi. I can handle these matters, I won’t let you or Lord Luo Sang be troubled.”
Simi, kneeling before him, felt that Wuze should bear everything himself.
Fei Li glanced between the two and first helped Simi up.
“Is what Simi said true?” he asked Wuze seriously.
No one responded.
From Wuze’s expression, he had already gotten all the answers.
With a deep sigh, he approached Wuze and was just about to speak when a sharp pain shot through his chest.
Furrowing his brow, he stumbled back a step, if Wuze hadn’t caught him in time, he would have fallen to the ground.
His face turned pale instantly, and beads of sweat began to form on his forehead.
Both Wuze and Simi were alarmed by his unusual state and watched him nervously.
“Are you okay?”
With his brow tightly knit, he raised his hand to signal that he was fine.
Once the pain in his chest eased slightly, he lifted his head.
Before he could take a step, a wave of intense pain hit his chest again.
He broke free from their grip and squatted on the ground, gasping for fresh air.
What was happening?
His heart suddenly races as if it were a sign.
Could something have happened to Luo Sang?
With this realization, he waved his long arm, and a misty white screen appeared in front of him, showing Luo Sang and the others immediately. Wuze and Simi beside him stared wide-eyed, was this the legendary spiritual power?
The three of them watched the screen intently, seeing Luo Sang being attacked relentlessly by the tribe members.
Wuze asked, “Why are they attacking Lord Luo Sang? What happened?”
Fei Li’s expression was grave as he continued to watch Luo Sang on the screen.
Suddenly, he noticed something amiss.
In the tribe, the wolf tribe’s eyes were blue for Luo Sang and green for the other orcs.
But now, they had turned red, and in the eerie forest, the red looked particularly terrifying.
Wuze also sensed something was wrong. “Their eyes…”
Simi stared at their eyes, “Why have their eyes turned red?”
An ominous premonition washed over Fei Li as he clenched his fists, eager to rush to Luo Sang’s side.
He withdrew the misty white screen and pretended to leave the tribe.
“I’ll go with you,” Wuze said, catching up to him.
He turned to Simi and explained a few things, asking him and Xiao Chun to help keep an eye on the harvested rice at home.
Luo Sang was gasping for breath, dodging the attacks while looking at the person playing the flute.
“What have you done to my people?”
The flute player smiled and turned his bamboo flute, “You harmed my beloved tree first and intruded into my forest later. Don’t you think you should pay the price?”
“That tree belongs to you?” Luo Sang frowned.
“Otherwise? Do you think it was planted just for you? You drank its blood, shouldn’t you repay it?”
What seemed like normal words from the flute player felt chilling when spoken from his mouth.
With a sly smile, the flute player continued to play the flute in his hand.
As the eerie flute music sounded, the wolf tribe orcs suddenly went berserk, rushing toward Luo Sang recklessly.
Luo Sang used his spiritual power to leap back, distancing himself from the orcs.
The flute player wouldn’t relent, the tune of the flute suddenly shifted, seeming to carry an invisible lethality as it closed in on Luo Sang.
Caught between attacks, Luo Sang found it hard to cope.
The flute player seemed unwilling to continue entangling with him, taking advantage of Luo Sang’s inability to handle both sides, he launched an assault.
To protect his people from harm, Luo Sang did not dodge but stood his ground to face the flute player head-on.
“Hiss—” Luo Sang’s beautiful brows furrowed as a sharp pain shot through his back.
He turned to look behind him, and the sharp claws of an orc landed squarely on his back.
Blood flowed down his back, soon staining his animal skin clothing red.
He blocked the flute player’s attack but could not evade the strike from the orc.
The smell of blood drove the enchanted orcs into a greater frenzy as they all advanced towards him, their eyes gleaming with a bloodthirsty light.
“Ah… hurt by your own kin, does it hurt?” The flute player was in high spirits, having not seen such an exciting scene in a long time.
Luo Sang endured the pain in his body and looked up at the flute player, “What are you? I will never allow you to harm my people.”
“Your people?”
The flute player cast a mocking glance at him, then shifted his attention to the wolf tribe orcs behind him, “They all want your life, yet you still think about protecting them. What a foolish orc.”
Luo Sang sniffed and detected the beastly scent emanating from the flute player, but he couldn’t tell what kind of orc he was.
Looking at him in confusion, Luo Sang tentatively spoke, “You’re an orc too, you must have your own kin, right? Why do this to me and my people?”
The word “kin” pierced the flute player’s ears, and his gaze suddenly turned fierce.
With a menacing glare, the flute player’s face darkened like a storm cloud, making it oppressive to behold.
The flute player approached him, staring directly into his eyes, “I was once as foolish as you, which is why I ended up in this situation.”
Memories flashed like a revolving lantern, and the flute player unexpectedly showed a hint of sorrow.
After glancing at the uncontrollable orcs, he finally fixed his gaze on Luo Sang.
“Since you resemble the me of the past, I’ll give you a chance to live. As long as you are willing to kill these people who hurt you, I will let you go.”
“You wish!” Luo Sang rejected without hesitation.
To him, they were not just his kin, they were his family.
Only someone who had experienced the annihilation of their tribe could understand how important family was to him.
Looking at the flute player before him, Luo Sang suddenly realized, “You are a traitor to your kin, and was exiled from the tribe?”
“I did not betray them, they do not want me to become strong, which is why they did this to me.”
