Nan Pei Buries His Face in Huo Yao’s Neck
Actually, Song Jingchen hadn’t planned to directly confront Nan Pei. He was annoyed that Nan Pei didn’t switch seats, but he couldn’t lose face by asking him directly. Instead, he decided to show his displeasure by not waiting for Nan Pei when leaving. This way, Nan Pei would surely chase after him to apologize.
Lu Bairan had a similar thought. He was unhappy that Nan Pei hadn’t visited the set recently, making him feel neglected. Of course, Lu Bairan didn’t think he cared much about Nan Pei. He just felt that since Nan Pei had put him in this lousy drama crew, he should at least see it through.
Both had different reasons but made the same decision—to walk ahead of Nan Pei.
When Song Jingchen walked past with a cold expression, Nan Pei froze. Surprisingly, Song Jingchen didn’t speak to him. A few seconds later, Lu Bairan walked past from the other side, also without a word.
Both male leads ignored Nan Pei, and then something even stranger happened—they slowed down after passing him.
Nan Pei was confused. He asked the system, “What’s going on with them? What should I do now?”
The system, having observed everything, rationally analyzed, “Both male leads think you’ll eagerly follow them to make amends.”
Nan Pei: “…”
Well, it’s not entirely unreasonable, but it seems like these male leads have some issues.
Swallowing, Nan Pei followed the crowd out of the concert hall. Left led to the main hall, right to the back door. Song Jingchen and Lu Bairan headed towards the main hall, walking as slowly as possible, wondering why Nan Pei hadn’t caught up.
They both wanted to look back but resisted.
Nan Pei decisively turned right, heading for the back door. He needed to seize this rare chance to escape the performance hall.
As he walked, he opened the chat with Huo Yao and sent a voice message: “President Huo, I’m at the back door of the hall, hurry and drive over to save me!”
He wasn’t sure if Huo Yao had arrived, feeling uneasy. The crowd was thick, but Nan Pei skillfully weaved through, nearing the back door.
At that moment, Song Jingchen couldn’t hold back and turned around. Frowning, he searched the crowd for Nan Pei, finally spotting him heading towards the back door.
Simultaneously, Lu Bairan also turned and quickly found Nan Pei.
The system’s voice echoed in Nan Pei’s mind: “Both male leads have spotted you, run!”
Gasping, Nan Pei quickened his pace, breaking through the crowd and rushing out the back door.
However, after descending the steps, he didn’t see Huo Yao’s car.
Panicking, Nan Pei opened a ride-hailing app, only to find hundreds in the queue.
The system continued: “Both male leads are heading to the back door… estimated arrival in one minute…”
Desperate, Nan Pei scanned his surroundings, considering climbing a tree if necessary.
As he broke into a cold sweat, contemplating which tree to climb, a voice sounded behind him: “Turn around.”
The voice was clear and clean, young yet magnetic, with a hint of steadiness.
Nan Pei’s eyes widened.
Turning around, he saw a low-key black sports car silently parked behind him. Huo Yao stood by the door, dressed casually, leaning lazily against it, calmly watching Nan Pei.
Seeing Nan Pei turn, Huo Yao’s lips curved slightly.
To Nan Pei, he seemed like a savior from the heavens.
He hurried over to Huo Yao, exclaiming in surprise, “You actually came?”
Huo Yao looked at him, tilting his head slightly, raising an eyebrow, “Didn’t you call me here?”
Just as Nan Pei was about to speak, the system’s voice interrupted: “Host! Song Jingchen and Lu Bairan are at the door!”
Startled, Nan Pei didn’t have time to think. He stepped forward, hugging Huo Yao and burying his face in his neck.
Huo Yao froze, disbelief written all over his face.
“President Huo,” Nan Pei whispered, voice trembling with tension, “sorry about this.”
With Huo Yao’s back to the hall door and people bustling around, Nan Pei was hidden from Song Jingchen and Lu Bairan’s view once he nestled into Huo Yao’s embrace.
Huo Yao was taller and more robust than Nan Pei, perfectly shielding him.
Holding his breath, face still buried in Huo Yao’s clean neck, Nan Pei murmured, “Get in the car.”
After a moment of silence, Huo Yao asked, “How am I supposed to get in the car like this?”
His body was stiff, muscles tense.
“Can you pretend to be a kidnapper,” Nan Pei whispered, his breath warm against Huo Yao’s neck, “and carry me into the car… like they do on TV? Come on, don’t hold back.”
Huo Yao: “…”
What kind of strange hobby is this?
Author’s Note:
Huo Yao: My wife seems to play big in private.
This chapter is short, I promise to add more (sounds of a pigeon cooing (not really)).
