When Zhou Yaoyun took a shower this time, he was unusually vigilant. He seemed deeply concerned about where Ji Chenai had sustained any injuries, meticulously inspecting him before finally exhaling in relief.
Ji Chenai didn’t mind being exposed in front of Zhou Yaoyun. Leaning back against the bathtub, bubbles surrounding him, Zhou Yaoyun noticed a softening in his expression, the melancholy between his brows easing. After a moment of silence, he spoke up. “Brother, in the future, if you face any troubles, will you promise to tell me?”
Ji Chenai glanced at Zhou Yaoyun and nodded.
After the shower, Zhou Yaoyun led Ji Chenai to his bedroom. Ji Chenai’s bedroom was now in a mess, with bloodstains on the floor, unfit for staying the night.
Zhou Yaoyun suggested Ji Chenai squeeze into his room for the night which Ji Chenai didn’t decline.
As the two brothers lived together, Zhou Yaoyun took the role of caring for his brother, handling cooking, laundry, and other chores with remarkable patience. Despite being a teenager, he showed maturity beyond his age, unperturbed by his brother’s indifference.
In the evening, Zhou Yaoyun cleaned Ji Chenai’s bedroom and mentioned he would make arrangements for a new mattress the next day. Afterward, he took a shower and got into bed.
Ji Chenai has a small stature, thin and slender body, barely reaching 1.7 meters in height. He lay on the bed like a child, engrossed in reading a book.
Zhou Yaoyun glanced at Ji Chenai and said, “Brother, I haven’t given you a massage today.”
Ji Chenai then recalled that Zhou Yaoyun used to massage him every day, so he nodded silently in acknowledgment.
Zhou Yaoyun proceeded to massage Ji Chenai’s thigh meticulously, displaying skill and dedication, leaving no area unattended.
After over an hour, Zhou Yaoyun, perspiring himself, asked. “Brother, aren’t you sleepy?”
Ji Chenai was indeed feeling sleepy. As he gazed at Zhou Yaoyun’s smiling face in the dim light, he couldn’t shake off a surreal sensation. With a younger brother like Zhou Yaoyun, Zhou Yaoqin should have been content.
“Alright, you should go to bed early too.” Ji Chenai said.
Zhou Yaoyun had trained all day and even did so much household chores upon returning in the evening, leaving him thoroughly exhausted. After taking a shower, he lay down beside Ji Chenai and quickly drifted into a deep sleep.
Seeing this, Ji Chenai dimmed the light and turned to Xiao Qi in his mind. “Do you still have memories that you haven’t given to me?”
Xiao Qi didn’t speak.
Ji Chenai continued, “If I face similar situations in the future, will you be responsible?”
Xiao Qi said, “No, you can trust me…”
Ji Chenai sighed. “I know you’re still hiding memories from me. Even if you refuse to reveal them, I’ll encounter them eventually.”
Xiao Qi appeared distressed, “It’s part of the program my creator designed. I can’t override it. The memories I withhold contain extremely negative energy, exceeding the threshold…”
Upon hearing this, Ji Chenai knew he couldn’t persuade the system anymore. He put down the book and turned off the light, saying, “Okay, good night.”
“Good night,” said Xiao Qi faintly.
