Positive Energy System
Positive Energy System Chapter 9 part 1

TITLE: The Man Who Came to Give Thanks

The next day, Ji Chenai got up early. Since Zhou Yaoqin had to go to school, he finished his breakfast and decided to venture out alone to explore his neighborhood.

Despite his injured leg making it difficult to get around, Ji Chenai was determined to go out, knowing that staying home all the time, like Zhou Yaoqin, might make him reluctant to ever leave the house again.

That morning, the residents near Ji Chenai’s home saw a teenager in a wheelchair moving slowly along the pavement. He noticed litter and, with a stoic expression, picked it up and threw it into the bin.

Almost everyone who witnessed this scene admired the teenager’s admirable qualities—except for the teenager himself.

Ji Chenai could only blame himself for not bringing gloves. As he passed each trash bin, he heard the persistent beeping of his phone, which seemed to tempt him with the promise of a little positive energy for each piece of litter he threw away—much more satisfying than posting online.

For the sake of his leg’s recovery, Ji Chenai reluctantly spent his time picking up trash. He realized that his current best-suited occupations were online tasks that required no physical effort and scavenging, which, while stable, but was a bit more tiring…

After a morning of collecting litter, Ji Chenai had earned over thirty units of energy and returned home. He washed his hands and then received a call from Zhou Yaoqin, who asked what he wanted for lunch.

Ji Chenai who was not picky about food, said anything would be fine. Zhou Yaoqin, however, grumbled that his brother would only get thinner if he didn’t eat properly and that his body wouldn’t handle it much longer.

Despite Zhou Yaoqin’s complaints, Ji Chenai smiled as he listened.

After a lot of back-and-forth, they finally settled on ingredients for lunch. Ji Chenai then opened his computer, ready to continue earning energy points. Yesterday, he had earned a hundred points by saving a little girl, but he was still far from the ten thousand points he needed. If he didn’t take it seriously, he might be unable to walk by the time he was middle age.

Just as Ji Chenai was about to click on a picture of a cat or dog to share when the doorbell rang.

He wheeled himself to the door and called out, “Who is it?”

A man’s voice responded from outside, “Is this Mr. Zhou’s residence?”

Due to his condition, Ji Chenai couldn’t look through the peephole, so he had to chain the door before cracking it open slightly and asking, “Yes, who are you?”
