Chapter 17: Let Her Go
Shi Ran woke up, remembering yesterday’s events.
She cursed a few more times, calling him a bastard.
He had clearly promised not to touch her, but he used too many tricks, both overt and covert.
What was the difference between that and keeping his promise?
Lu Beiyuan saw her awake, her little face puffed up. He laughed until his chest trembled.
“Awake. Last night, Ranran was so passionate, like a fairy.”
Remembering herself last night, Shi Ran was both angry and annoyed.
She was naked, directly got out of bed, without any shyness.
He had seen everything.
At two o’clock in the afternoon, Chen Rong, who used to serve her mother, called.
She was very happy. Since her mother’s death, Aunt Chen hadn’t worked at her house. She treated her mother extremely well, and the two were like sisters.
They were closer than family. Shi Ran later repeatedly offered to let her move in, but Aunt Chen refused, returning to the countryside alone. She heard that she had found a partner in these years and had a little girl, and her life was going smoothly.
“Hello, Aunt Chen, you haven’t called me for a long time, I miss you.”
On the phone, Aunt Chen sighed, and Shi Ran heard something was wrong.
“Aunt Chen, did something happen? Tell me, I’ll do my best to help you.”
“No, Ranran, I’m fine. It’s just that there’s something I want to tell you.”
Shi Ran’s heart skipped a beat. If it wasn’t Aunt Chen’s matter, it must be her mother’s.
“Ranran, I heard that your father brought a woman and her illegitimate child home?”
“You know? Aunt Chen, I didn’t know either. Dad actually kept a woman outside. Her two children are older than me. He betrayed Mom. Mom didn’t know until her death. Aunt Chen, if Mom knew in the afterlife, wouldn’t she be very heartbroken?”
Shi Ran started to cry, feeling sorry for her deceased mother.
Aunt Chen: “Ranran, your mother knew about this, she knew it a long time ago. That woman is not a good person. Now your father dares to openly bring her home. Be careful.”
“What? Aunt Chen, you said Mom knew?”
In her impression, her parents had always been very loving and never quarreled.
Her mother was clearly a happy little woman, waiting for her father to come home every day, and her father loved her mother very much.
How could Mom know?
Knowing this, she still put on a smiling face every day?
“Careful? Aunt Chen, what exactly is going on?”
“Before, your mother was pregnant with a child. When she was five months pregnant, that woman came to see your mother and said a lot of nasty things. Your mother was so heartbroken that she lost the child.”
“Those days, she always cried, but your father thought she was just sad because she lost the child, not knowing that she was also…”
Aunt Chen’s emotions were also moved, and she couldn’t continue.
“Ranran, Aunt Chen couldn’t be by your side. Be careful of them. And your mother’s company, try your best to protect it. Otherwise, I won’t dare to see your mother in the afterlife.”
After hanging up the phone, Shi Ran’s mood still couldn’t calm down.
She couldn’t imagine that her mother, who seemed to be such a happy little princess before her death, had suffered so much grievance in secret.
How painful her heart must have been when she secretly wiped away her tears!
Lu Beiyuan also said that the woman had already reached out to the company, and she would absolutely not allow this to happen.
Since this was the case, she decided to take back her mother’s company.
Shi Yuan didn’t deserve it.
In the evening, her childhood friend Tang Ji called.
“Miss Shi, is that Shi Ran on the top of Weibo’s hot search you? Didn’t you go abroad?”
Tang Ji and she had been in the same class since kindergarten, and also in elementary and middle school, until high school. Tang Ji’s grades were poor, so they weren’t in the same class.
“I came back to study.”
“What? I only found out now. Miss Shi, you can’t not treat me to a meal for this?”
A small restaurant in Ximen.
When Shi Ran arrived, Tang Ji was eating a hand-held pancake at a street stall. Although he was a real rich second generation, he didn’t have the demeanor of a rich second generation. He was fair-skinned but had a mischievous personality.
Seeing her, he paid and walked towards her.
“What do you want to eat?”
Shi Ran glanced at the hand-held pancake in his hand, “Aren’t you eating?”
Tang Ji finished his last bite and threw the paper bag into the trash can with a parabolic arc. “Don’t underestimate me, this is just an appetizer.”
After walking a few steps, Tang Ji finally realized that someone was following them. He was very alert and pulled Shi Ran’s hand and ran.
” Master Ji, why are you running?”
“Someone is following us.”
Shi Ran: “Lu Beiyuan’s people.”
Tang Ji stopped, and Shi Ran looked at him with a look of disbelief.
“How long have they been following? If they were bad guys, would you have noticed?”
They arrived at a hot pot restaurant, the restaurant was filled with steam, red and lively.
Tang Ji ordered a large table of dishes, and Shi Ran believed that the hand-held pancake was just an appetizer.
“No, you really got together with Lu Beiyuan? I remember you liked that bookworm in high school.”
“Did you give up because you couldn’t chase her? But Lu Beiyuan, such a business genius, has nothing to do with us. You two?”
Shi Ran was in no mood, so she just perfunctorily responded to Tang Ji.
“Lu Beiyuan is rich and handsome, I think he’s pretty good, so we’re together.”
Too many things have happened recently, being abandoned by her father, being targeted by a devil.
Grandmother.
And her mother’s company.
In the future, when she is strong enough, she will leave Lu Beiyuan sooner or later. She will tell Tang Ji then.
Lu Beiyuan is not that easy to deal with. He is possessive and controlling, and it won’t be easy to escape.
She doesn’t have many friends, and maybe she’ll have to rely on this silly guy for help then.
Tang Ji: “That’s good. No need to hang on one tree.”
Shi Ran laughed at him: “Haven’t you chased down your senior yet?”
Tang Ji shook his head, his expression like a bitter melon.
He was a junior at Jiangda University. When he entered the school as a freshman, he fell in love with a senior. He had been chasing her for three years, and she was about to graduate this year, but he still hadn’t succeeded.
Not long after they finished eating, as they left the restaurant, Shen Linyang ran towards them.
He was wearing a white sweatshirt, his face clean-shaven, a clean and sunny boy.
Because Ranran said she liked this kind of boy, so these days, no matter how depressed he was, even if his mood fell to the bottom, he still had to take care of himself, because when he saw Ranran, he had to be clean.
As soon as he went up, he immediately hugged Shi Ran.
With a crying voice: “Ranran, I’m back, Ranran…”
Tang Ji stood aside, a little puzzled, “Who is this?”
Shi Ran’s expression was very calm, wanting to push Shen Linyang away, but he hugged her tightly.
“Ex-boyfriend.”
“No! We didn’t break up, I don’t agree, I don’t agree…”
“Let her go!”
A stern voice fell, and several people looked in the direction of the sound.
A man in a black suit was striding towards them, with a murderous look on his face.
Tang Ji: “Miss Shi, your deadline seems to have arrived!”
“……”
“I’ll go first.” After saying that, Tang Ji slipped away, hailed a car, and disappeared under the streetlights.
“……”
