The pursuer was someone Chi Yan met online. They played games together, and after several matches, they became familiar with each other. Eventually, they discovered that both lived in Ningyang.
At first, the pursuer seemed normal while gaming. Chi Yan never noticed any controlling tendencies or that the person was gay.
When they finally met for dinner in person, the moment Chi Yan saw the intense, obsessive gaze fixated on him, he realized this former teammate was gay and had fallen for his looks at first sight.
Out of politeness, Chi Yan didn’t immediately walk away and went through with the dinner. Afterward, the pursuer suggested going to a bar, which Chi Yan declined, using the excuse that he had a livestream the next morning and didn’t want to drink too much.
Chi Yan never intentionally hid the fact that he was a game streamer, though he didn’t reveal his specific channel to avoid unnecessary trouble. He wasn’t too worried about being found, since there were so many streaming platforms, and he never showed his face during his streams.
Despite this, the former teammate did attempt to track down Chi Yan’s channel but failed to find it amidst the sea of livestreams. However, in real life, the pursuer managed to find Chi Yan’s home.
They had only met twice. The second time was when the pursuer confessed his feelings, to which Chi Yan immediately replied that they weren’t a good match.
It was impossible for them to be compatible. The pursuer would call him countless times a day, and if Chi Yan didn’t pick up, his phone would be bombarded with text messages asking what he was doing. The pursuer clearly wanted to monitor Chi Yan’s every move 24/7.
Even if Chi Yan had feelings for the guy, his overwhelming controlling nature would have suffocated him. Chi Yan imagined that if they ever got together, the guy would even try to control which foot he stepped out with first.
This kind of person might suit someone with a submissive personality, but Chi Yan valued his independence and freedom, disliking any form of restriction.
Now, this control freak had shown up at Chi Yan’s apartment late at night. Keeping a calm appearance, Chi Yan remained vigilant, watching his surroundings.
“I really like you, Chi Yan. Please say yes, be with me!” The pursuer was fully absorbed in his emotions, desperate for Chi Yan to agree, completely ignoring Chi Yan’s feelings.
“You like me?” Chi Yan smiled, his eyes glinting with a captivating light. Seeing this smile, the pursuer thought he had a chance.
“Yes! I love you!” he exclaimed excitedly.
“I don’t like you,” Chi Yan said coldly after a few moments of silence.
The pursuer froze, his hand trembling slightly. He stared at Chi Yan, demanding a reason: “Why?”
Chi Yan had already explained before, but it was clear the pursuer had selectively forgotten. Repeating it wasn’t a problem, though.
“You’re too controlling. It suffocates me. I’m an independent person, not an object you own. You have no right to interfere with my life or my freedom. Zheng Qin, we’re not compatible.”
Zheng Qin took a few steps closer, reaching out to grab Chi Yan’s hand. Chi Yan quickly sidestepped, avoiding the touch.
Zheng Qin stood frozen for a moment, before finally snapping out of it.
“I can change! Really, Chi Yan, I can change. If you don’t like me interfering in your life, I’ll stop. I’ll do whatever you say!” Zheng Qin clearly hadn’t grasped the reality of the situation.
“I think you’ve misunderstood. Your controlling nature is just one reason. The main issue is that you’re not my type. No matter how much you change, I still won’t like you.”
Chi Yan’s tone softened as he added, “Actually, you’re a great guy, and I’m sure plenty of people like you. My advice? Choose from among those who do.”
He didn’t want to sever ties too harshly; after all, things had been amicable when they gamed together in the past. However, Chi Yan had overestimated Zheng Qin’s ability to accept rejection.
“I don’t care about them! You’re the only one I want! I think about you every night. Back when we played games together, just hearing your voice turned me on!”
Chi Yan was stunned as Zheng Qin revealed something he hadn’t known: “Several times when we were gaming, I’d hear your voice and…well, let’s just say I was…you know, pleasuring myself. You have to take responsibility. It’s your fault I turned out like this.”
Chi Yan now realized he had severely underestimated Zheng Qin. This guy wasn’t just controlling—he was a total creep. Anyone who got off just from hearing his voice was definitely disturbed.
It was clear that reasoning with him wasn’t going to work anymore. Chi Yan quickly took a few steps back, creating distance between them.
Zheng Qin noticed Chi Yan’s retreat, and his expression twisted into something feral, like a beast provoked into rage. His eyes blazed with an uncontrollable fire.
“I only like you, so why are you rejecting me?!” Zheng Qin growled like a furious animal.
Chi Yan couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Out of respect for their past teamwork, he had tried to handle this calmly. But now, it was clear that being polite had been a mistake.
He shouldn’t have wasted time talking to someone who refused to hear anything they didn’t want to.
“I think we have nothing left to discuss,” Chi Yan said coldly as he turned and walked quickly toward his apartment building.
