Chi Yao noticed that many people weren’t using the gardens to grow flowers, but were instead growing vegetables.
Seeing the various fruits and vegetables planted, Chi Yao smiled. The house was indeed nice. Walking around inside, he felt a sense of comfort.
As Chi Yao went downstairs to the second floor, he started thinking about which room the baby would stay in if he were to move in. The nursery would need to be renovated. Standing in one of the empty rooms, Chi Yao squinted slightly, already imagining his baby running around in it.
Seeing Chi Yao standing there with such a gentle expression, Chang Feng thought it looked like he was really becoming a father. But didn’t Chi Yao love Shen Ling? And now with this baby, it seemed like Shen Ling still didn’t know. Chang Feng started to feel worried.
Though he was close to Fu Rong, he had a feeling that Shen Ling’s constant smile was something to be cautious of.
After inspecting the inside of the house, Chi Yao walked outside and took a lap around the small garden. The garden was spacious, and he considered adding things like a swing. Kids love swings. Chi Yao pursed his lips and turned to Chang Feng, saying, “Let’s move on to the next house.”
The real estate agent quickly came over, but before he could speak, Chang Feng asked, “You didn’t like this one, Mr. Chi?”
“It’s fine, but I want to compare it with the others,” Chi Yao replied.
Perhaps the other houses would be even better. Since he had plenty of time, he planned to view all of them today and make a quick decision.
“True,” Chang Feng nodded.
The real estate agent maintained a polite smile on the side.
Chi Yao and Chang Feng then drove to the next house, a 40-minute drive away. This community was another high-end development, consisting entirely of villas, without the high-rise buildings along the street like the previous one. The community had been established for a few years, and the greenery was decent, but the park here wasn’t as good as the one in the last neighborhood.
However, the advantage was that just across the street was an open scenic area with a forest, attracting people who drove there for leisure.
They entered the community and headed straight to the house. The garden was on the second floor, an open space that served as the garden.
The nearby schools were a bit farther away, but still within a reasonable distance. A few streets away was a bustling commercial district, which had heavy foot traffic but wasn’t noisy enough to disturb the area.
Chi Yao wasn’t particularly impressed by this community, mainly because he thought the greenery was a bit lacking.
Just as they were about to leave to see the second house, a car drove into the community, and coincidentally, Fu Rong was in the vehicle.
Fu Rong immediately noticed Chi Yao. Even though the surroundings were colorful, everything seemed dull in comparison to him. Fu Rong’s eyes were drawn to him alone.
Recalling their confrontation a few days ago, Fu Rong hesitated to approach, thinking he wouldn’t receive a warm welcome. Just as he was about to continue driving, he noticed that the person walking with Chi Yao was Chang Feng, someone who hadn’t been around him much lately.
Fu Rong was puzzled. Chang Feng had gotten close to Chi Yao all of a sudden.
Chang Feng only glanced to the side briefly and then noticed that the driver was Fu Rong.
Though he knew Fu Rong and Chi Yao didn’t get along, he couldn’t help but call out, “President Fu.”
Chi Yao, of course, heard this and turned toward the voice. He saw the car stop and the window roll down, revealing a familiar face.
What a coincidence.

Fu Rong was driving alone, with no one else in the car. It was clear he was heading into this community—perhaps to his own home, or maybe to visit someone he was seeing in secret?
Chi Yao didn’t believe Fu Rong was celibate, so seeing him alone was intriguing. Chi Yao’s gaze remained indifferent as he stared at Fu Rong.
Fu Rong began talking to Chang Feng, asking why he was in the area.
Chang Feng glanced over at Chi Yao before responding, seeing that Chi Yao had already turned away and was walking toward the car, uninterested in their conversation. Leaning slightly toward Fu Rong, Chang Feng whispered, “Chi Yao is looking to buy a new house.”
Chang Feng didn’t mention the baby—he knew better than to reveal that information so carelessly.
“A new house? Here in this community?” Fu Rong, who had been living there for years and was considering moving himself, was unimpressed by the quality of the houses.
“Yeah, but it seems like Mr. Chi isn’t too keen on this place.”
“Are there other options?” Fu Rong asked instinctively.
Chang Feng hesitated before replying, “It doesn’t seem like he’s fully satisfied with any of them yet.”
“I see. Well, you’d better get going then,” Fu Rong said, not keeping Chang Feng any longer. Chi Yao was already seated in the car, waiting.
Chang Feng nodded and jogged over to join Chi Yao.
Fu Rong didn’t drive off right away, instead watching the direction Chi Yao left. Why was he suddenly looking to move? Chi Yao should already have several properties, and the villas in this area were large enough for someone living alone.
Was there someone else involved?
Fu Rong couldn’t help but consider this possibility. If Chi Yao had someone else, buying a bigger house made sense.
As Fu Rong flexed his fingers and pursed his lips, he recalled how much effort he had spent in recent days trying to track down the boy he had slept with. But the boy seemed to have vanished without a trace.
Fu Rong had even pressured the manager for answers, but all he got was that the information the boy had given was fake, and after receiving the money, he disappeared.
Even the account used for the transaction was untraceable, offering no clues to Fu Rong’s search.
