Pregnant With My Rival’s Child
Pregnant With My Rival’s Child Chapter 30

That night felt like a fleeting affair for Fu Rong, appearing suddenly and ending just as abruptly.

It was as if it was telling Fu Rong something.

No matter how capable he was, there were still moments beyond his control.

Fu Rong drove home, and as soon as he entered the house, he lit a cigarette. While smoking, he thought of the boy and his coughing. Fu Rong wasn’t sure why, but he stubbed out the cigarette.

He walked over to the balcony and gazed outside. Across the street was an open park, but despite having lived there for several years, Fu Rong rarely went inside the park.

In a daze, Fu Rong had a feeling of emptiness around him. He wanted something—wanted someone to be beside him.

Chi Yao had gone to see another house. Comparing them, the first one was still better. He decided not to visit the fourth and fifth houses since his ankle was feeling sore.

After becoming pregnant, Chi Yao’s feet would easily get sore, so he decided to stop.

He didn’t immediately settle on any house; he needed more time to think. Chang Feng noticed the fatigue on Chi Yao’s face and mentioned there was a hot spring nearby, suggesting they go for a soak.

“A hot spring?”

Chi Yao pulled out his phone. There was still so much he didn’t know, so he quickly searched on his phone without letting Chang Feng see the results. The search showed that it was best for pregnant people not to use hot springs, as it wasn’t good for their health.

“Forget the hot spring. Is there a good massage place?” Chi Yao decided against the hot spring but was open to getting a foot massage, as both his feet were sore and weak.

“I’m not too familiar with this area, but there’s one I know about twenty minutes away.”

“Let’s go there.” Twenty minutes wasn’t long.

Chang Feng called the manager of the massage parlor to reserve two skilled therapists.

They drove to the massage parlor, with Chi Yao sipping the hot water he brought. Chang Feng sat in the passenger seat, having left his car in the original villa area and opting to ride with Chi Yao instead.

Before getting into the elevator, Chi Yao asked Chang Feng to stop by a fruit shop to buy some fruit. He wanted something sweet since there was no taste in his mouth.

Chi Yao went ahead inside of the massage shop while Chang Feng explained things to the manager. Although the manager didn’t know Chi Yao, he immediately recognized who he was and greeted him warmly.

Chi Yao requested someone to massage his feet, and the manager quickly made arrangements.

The manager personally escorted Chi Yao to a room in the back and asked what kind of tea he would like. Chi Yao handed over his thermos, requesting only some hot water.

The manager took the thermos to fill it.

When Chang Feng arrived with the fruit, the masseur was already seated on a small stool, massaging Chi Yao’s feet.

Chang Feng washed the fruit and served it on a plate, buying a variety since he wasn’t sure what Chi Yao preferred. In the end, Chi Yao only ate a bit of apple and left the rest untouched.

After more than half an hour of massage, Chi Yao was half-reclining with his eyes closed, resting. Chang Feng stepped outside and chatted with the manager. As they talked, there was suddenly a loud commotion. Someone drunk was shouting obscenities in the hallway, and when someone tried to calm him down, he responded with a kick.

An employee rushed over to the manager for help. Chang Feng, with nothing better to do, followed. There was another reason: the drunk person’s voice sounded familiar.

Sure enough, when Chang Feng stepped out, it was someone he knew.

It was an acquaintance he didn’t think much of—a nouveau riche who, after acquiring some money, looked down on everyone.

This guy loved to go out and have fun, which wasn’t a problem, but he had a habit of not paying for things, often deliberately dodging payments until people came chasing him for debts. Then, instead of being apologetic, he’d act aggressive.

Chang Feng didn’t have much interaction with this man. Seeing him drunk and causing trouble didn’t concern him.

Just as he thought that, his eyes flickered.

It wasn’t just him here—there was someone else, someone with a temper, called Chi Yao.

Chang Feng approached. The manager was obviously no match for the drunk and was pushed aside. The other employees looked frail, unable to deal with a drunk man. Chang Feng, being much stronger, stepped forward, intending to knock the man down to shut him up.

In places like this, those who go on drunken rampages were no different from madmen in Chang Feng’s eyes.

Just as Chang Feng was about to kick the man, a door beside them opened.

A person walked out with a cold expression.

The drunkard glanced up and saw Chi Yao. His eyes immediately changed.

Before Chang Feng could react, the drunk lunged at Chi Yao, grabbing his hand. His other hand was reaching for Chi Yao’s face when a loud crash echoed. At some point, Chi Yao had grabbed a vase and smashed it over the drunk’s head.

The vase shattered, pieces scattering on the floor.

The drunkard was stunned, unable to recover for a long while.

Chi Yao coldly glared at the man lying on the ground. He walked over and raised his foot, stomping down hard on the drunk’s stomach. The kick was so forceful that the drunk vomited right then and there.

He threw up all over himself, foul-smelling and disgusting.

The employees covered their noses and stepped back, some sneaking glances at Chi Yao. His face was as handsome as a top celebrity, even more so—his delicate, well-defined features, and fair skin, something that no amount of post-production editing could replicate.

“How much? Give me a figure[1]Talking about money for what he did to the drunkard. Send him to the hospital, and I’ll cover the medical expenses,” Chi Yao called the manager over and said.

The manager looked troubled. This wasn’t going to be an easy situation to handle.
