Pregnant With My Rival’s Child
Pregnant With My Rival’s Child Chapter 7

The driver came to inform Chi Yao that his stepmother asked him to return home in a couple of days because his father had come back, and the family should have a meal together.

A meal?

Chi Yao found it laughable. His stepmother had a daughter, but she was arrogant and spoiled, so now she was turning her attention back to him, pretending to care. In the end, Chi Yao was nothing more than a tool in her eyes—a tool for her to climb higher.

Soon, his father would likely find a new mistress. At that point, his stepmother would be discarded too. And since the new mistress was pregnant with a boy, she would gain a higher status because of it. Chi Yao, on the other hand, as the disobedient son who only spends money, would be completely ignored.

Chi Yao didn’t respond to the driver. He opened the door, walked inside, and shut the door behind him, leaving the driver outside.

The driver knew Chi Yao’s temperament. He had delivered the message, and whether or not Chi Yao would go wasn’t something he could control.

Shortly after entering the house, Chi Yao transferred some money to Xue Zhongming, telling him to use it for the hospital bills.

At that time, Xue Zhongming had already taken the person Chi Yao kicked to the hospital. The injuries weren’t too serious, and the money Chi Yao sent was more than enough.

Xue Zhongming gave a portion of the extra money to the injured person, but he kept the majority for himself.

He knew why Chi Yao kicked that person. Chi Yao just had too much money. He even paid for the hospital bills, but if it were Xue Zhongming, he wouldn’t have given a cent.

After all, that person was bold enough to stare at Chi Yao’s legs. Originally, Xue Zhongming thought that person would at least hide it better, but Chi Yao caught him right away.

If Shen Ling hadn’t been there, that guy would probably have had a few broken ribs.

After paying the money, Xue Zhongming left and returned to the barbecue gathering. Shen Ling and Fu Rong hadn’t left yet, so he needed to go back to show his face and maintain his presence.

Chi Yao didn’t expect to run into Fu Rong so soon. Two days after the barbecue, Chi Yao went to eat at a newly opened restaurant, and as soon as he walked into the lobby, he saw Fu Rong.

Fu Rong wasn’t with Shen Ling this time. Instead, he was with a woman—an extremely beautiful one. Standing together, they looked like a perfect match. The woman was holding onto Fu Rong’s arm, but as Chi Yao approached, the woman’s gaze became fixed on him, her eyes filled with admiration.

Chi Yao smirked. Was Fu Rong’s woman captivated by him?

That didn’t seem right.

Chi Yao ignored Fu Rong. His friend noticed Fu Rong’s presence and was about to go over and greet him, but then saw that Fu Rong wasn’t with Shen Ling and was with an unfamiliar woman instead. His friend quickly retracted his step.

Chi Yao walked toward the elevator, and his friend, Chang Feng, hurried to follow behind him.

“President Fu, that little beauty just now, you know him, right?” The woman was sharp. She immediately sensed that they might know each other.

“Yes, I know him,” Fu Rong smiled slightly.

“Not just acquaintances? Someone who’s been in your bed?” The woman, enchanted by the adorable little beauty, felt it would be impossible for Fu Rong to remain indifferent.

“No. To be exact, he’s someone who, like me, wants to sleep with someone else,” Fu Rong didn’t elaborate.

But the woman caught on quickly. “I didn’t expect that. You’ve got such a cute rival. If it were me, I’d just change my target.”

The woman had been friends with Fu Rong for years. She even pursued him once, but Fu Rong shot her down with, “I only get hard for men.”

After that, they became close friends.

“You can go after him if you want,” Fu Rong glanced at the quickly closing elevator doors.

“No thanks, he’s also into men. Even if I tried, I wouldn’t succeed.”

“Still, maybe I can at least have a meal with him,” the woman’s eyes sparkled. She had a thing for pretty people, especially those who were both attractive and cute.

Chi Yao sat in his chair, instinctively reaching for a cigarette, but then remembered he had thrown them away. Chang Feng, noticing what he wanted, quickly handed him a cigarette.

Chi Yao bit down on the cigarette, but just before taking a puff, he suddenly stopped. He extinguished it and pulled out a piece of candy from his pocket instead.

As Chi Yao was unwrapping the candy, there was a sudden knock on the door, and then two people walked in.

Holding the candy, Chi Yao looked up at the two intruders. He didn’t remember inviting them in.

“President Fu?” Chang Feng immediately stood up, knowing that Chi Yao and Fu Rong didn’t get along. They were rivals in love, and in the past, they had only remained civil because of Shen Ling. Now, with Shen Ling absent, something might happen.

“Did you come to the wrong room?” Chang Feng asked, forcing a smile.

Fu Rong said nothing, but the woman next to him strutted over to Chi Yao, pulled out a chair, and sat down.

She gazed at Chi Yao’s face with admiration and reached out to touch him.

Chi Yao was too stunned to react. His face was touched before he snapped out of it.

“What’s your problem?” Chi Yao grabbed the woman’s wrist and yanked it down, his voice and eyes full of anger.

Though his words were directed at the woman, his disgusted gaze was fixed on Fu Rong.

Fu Rong’s expression remained indifferent. He turned and walked out, saying as he closed the door, “I’ll be waiting for you next door.”

With that, he left.

Chi Yao released the woman’s hand. “You can leave too.”

The woman stood up and pulled out her phone. “Mind giving me your number?”

“No need,” Chi Yao’s expression made it clear he wanted her to leave.

Even when he’s angry, he’s so beautiful. The woman took several photos before leaving.

“See you next time,” she said, not lingering any longer as she left the room.

Chi Yao stared at the closed door for a few moments before grabbing the water cup next to him and hurling it at the door.

With a loud crash, the glass shattered across the floor.

Chang Feng, seeing this, shrank back, fearing the next object might be thrown at him.

Fortunately, Chi Yao seemed to regain control of his anger, and they managed to finish the meal without further incident.

However, there was no tea afterward. Chi Yao drove off alone, and when Chang Feng asked where he was headed, Chi Yao shot him a cold look, and Chang Feng quickly shut up.
