Show of Affection – The Baby is Angry
After staying at grandpa’s house for a few days, Chi Yao and the baby left and went to Fu Rong’s parents’ home.
Since they had mentioned it in advance, Fu Rong’s niece, YuanYuan, was also brought over. Although YuanYuan was a bit older than Chi Yan, the two could play together.
YuanYuan really liked her little brother Chi Yan; she even told her other little friends that she had an angelic little brother who was super pretty and super cute.
They stayed at Fu Rong’s parents’ house for four days. After a while, Chi Yao wasn’t very accustomed to it; he preferred the comfort of his own home. After returning home, Chi Yao spent two more days with nothing much to do. He contacted Fu Rong via video call every day, but there wasn’t much to talk about other than letting Fu Rong see the baby.
At night, Chi Yao slept alone instead of with the baby, allowing Chi Yan to sleep by himself.
It wasn’t a long time, but after taking a shower and getting ready for bed one day, Chi Yao suddenly felt that the room was quite empty since there used to be another person there.
He tried to do a little self-service. How should he put it? It just felt like something was missing.
Chi Yao turned over in bed, closed his eyes, and surprisingly imagined the feeling of that other person holding him.
He got up to wash his hands and looked up at his reflection in the mirror, seeming a bit surprised; the person in the mirror clearly looked somewhat unfulfilled.
Touching his own face, Chi Yao smiled.
He thought he really couldn’t love him like Fu Rong did, but evidently, his body’s attachment to that person was deeper than he had realized.
Chi Yao immediately made a phone call to purchase two plane tickets.
Consider it a surprise for someone.
Fu Rong, every night before going to bed, really did check his phone daily to look at videos of his wife and child.
It was as if he could only fall asleep in their smiles.
When business partners invited Fu Rong out to dinner and entertainment, Fu Rong directly sent them away. It wasn’t about betrayal; he simply had no interest in anyone else. Just looking at someone else felt like wasting his feelings.
How could anyone outside compare to his wife?
No one could hold a candle to Chi Yao; they couldn’t even be compared at all.
People around him said Fu Rong was under his wife’s thumb, keeping himself pure for her outside.
Fu Rong actually hoped Chi Yao would be a bit stricter with him, like checking in every day, but Chi Yao completely ignored that, letting Fu Rong do as he pleased.
Fu Rong really wanted to tie that person up and keep him by his side, not letting him run off to meet others.
Because he was supposed to be away for a month, and now only ten days had passed—less than halfway through, Fu Rong already found it a bit difficult, even thinking about returning one day, even just to see the faces of the baby and Chi Yao.
Not seeing his wife and child made Fu Rong smile less. During meetings, he appeared cold, as if dissatisfied with everything.
When invited to go for a bath and massage, Fu Rong also lacked interest. Even while watching an entertainment show that everyone else was enjoying, he pulled out his phone to look at videos of his wife.
He might as well break his promise and just go back immediately; work was no match for Chi Yao.
No matter how much money he made, it didn’t matter if he couldn’t be with his wife and child. Fu Rong couldn’t muster much interest in money.
His partners invited everyone out for seafood that day at a high-end seafood restaurant with a pianist playing there. The environment was quite nice, and the seafood tasted good. Fu Rong enjoyed his meal and noted the place down to bring Chi Yao here next time.
In the middle of the meal, Fu Rong went to the restroom. When he returned, a scene he never expected appeared right where he had just been sitting.
In his spot sat someone else, and on the other side, a server had brought over a child’s chair, which was occupied by a boy he knew all too well.
Fu Rong was stunned for a few seconds and quickly walked over.
Chi Yao was peeling shrimp for the baby to eat. A little sauce had gotten in the baby’s mouth, and with a sudden gulp, the baby managed to chomp down on the entire shrimp tail. Seeing this, Fu Rong’s heart raced.
It wasn’t an illusion; it was indeed Chi Yao and the baby.
But why?
Didn’t this person say to let him stay away a bit longer, so he could feel freer? Yet Chi Yao had come here with the baby.
There had been no sign of this; they had just video called last night, and Chi Yao hadn’t revealed anything at all.
Fu Rong sat at another empty seat beside them, seemingly too surprised to speak right away, his eyes fixed on Chi Yao, watching his own wife.
Chi Yao knew what Fu Rong was surprised about. He smiled faintly, peeled another shrimp, and held it out. The baby’s little hand reached over, clearly thinking it was for him, calling out, “Daddy!”
But Chi Yao didn’t look at him; instead, he brought the shrimp to Fu Rong’s mouth.
When Fu Rong didn’t open his mouth, Chi Yao nudged him, signaling for Fu Rong to eat the shrimp.
Fu Rong, still stunned, took the shrimp into his mouth. Chi Yao then removed a glove from his hand, suddenly leaned over, and kissed Fu Rong on the lips.
Fu Rong had not fully swallowed the shrimp in his mouth when unexpectedly, Chi Yao leaned in and kissed him.
There were a few others at the same table who shook their heads upon witnessing this show of affection.
“Hey, hey, hey, don’t treat us like we’re invisible.” Such a blatant display of love made people quite envious.
Some of them were single, while others were married, but none of their relationships seemed as good as that of Chi Yao and Fu Rong.
The key point was that they were both the same sex, making this deep affection between them quite rare.
The baby didn’t get to eat the shrimp that his dad peeled and was unhappy about it.
“Daddy, shrimp!” The baby patted the table with his small hand. Although his hand was small, the sound it made was not insignificant.
“Okay, little cutie, your daddies are busy showing off their love. Uncle will peel some shrimp for you.” A young man with thin hair on the sides and thin lips spoke up immediately, moving to sit next to the baby.
He put on transparent gloves and began to peel shrimp for the baby.
The baby stared at both dads, feeling ignored. Gripping a small spoon in his hand, he momentarily considered throwing it, but he held back because he remembered his dad saying that it was wrong to throw things during meals.
He opened his mouth to eat the shrimp that was fed to him, chewing while still feeling angry.
Someone poked his puffed-up cheeks, and the baby angrily swatted their hand.
That person immediately said to Chi Yao, “Chi Yao, your son has quite a temper!”
He was peeling shrimp for the baby, and instead of saying thank you, the baby hit him.
Chi Yao raised an eyebrow and replied, “You can hit him back.”
The person chuckled, “If I really did that, you’d probably get mad at me.”
Although it was an exaggerated remark, it wasn’t far from the truth.
Chi Yao looked at the baby, his expression serious: “Say thank you to Uncle.”
The baby pretended not to understand with his big eyes.
“He peeled shrimp for you, so you need to say thank you.”
Reluctantly, the baby looked at the young man, who had his hands folded under his chin, waiting patiently.
“Thank you, Uncle.” Tears welled up in the baby’s eyes.
With such a pitiful expression, anyone who saw him would feel their heart soften.
“Alright, alright, how much can that little hand hurt? Uncle knows you’re unhappy because Daddy is ignoring you. Daddy is the one in the wrong, right, little cutie?”
The young man stood by the baby, unable to resist, as the baby was just too adorable.
“And also, apologize and say you’re sorry.” In crowded places, Chi Yao was less indulgent with Chi Yan.
Tears dropped from the baby’s eyes, and the young man immediately picked him up.
“Chi Yao, that’s enough. The baby is still small; don’t be so harsh.”
“Chi Yan, apologize.” Chi Yao’s tone turned cold.
The baby sobbed, and under his father’s watchful gaze, his little mouth pouted. In the end, he still managed to say an apology.
“Sorry…”
The young man quickly wiped the baby’s tears, feeling sorry for him as he cried.
Chi Yao asked the young man to put the baby back in his high chair. He continued to peel several shrimp for the baby, placing them in his bowl.
The baby took a spoon and scooped up the shrimp to eat, tears dripping into the spoon, which he then ate.
Everyone around them couldn’t help but laugh and shake their heads.
“Are you still going to hit people?” Chi Yao asked.
The baby choked and couldn’t respond.
“When others help you, just say thank you; you can’t hit them.” Chi Yao gently spoke to the baby.
He took out a wet wipe and dabbed the baby’s tears.
The baby nodded through his sobs.
Chi Yao leaned down and kissed the baby’s little face: “No more crying, eat your meal properly.”
The baby stopped crying and quietly continued to eat.
When others peeled shrimp or served him food, he would obediently say thank you.
Fu Rong just watched quietly, not interrupting while Chi Yao was educating the baby. He understood that it was for the baby’s own good.
Once the meal was over, Chi Yao’s family of three left first. Fu Rong held the baby, who buried his little face in Fu Rong’s arms and refused to come out.
Before long, the baby ended up falling asleep in a fit of grievance.
Fu Rong mentioned to Chi Yao, “Next time, you can be less strict.”
He could be a bit gentler; the baby was usually obedient, and the main reason for the baby’s unhappiness was that Chi Yao had suddenly given him the shrimp.
“If you don’t keep an eye on your son’s education, he’ll grow up to have an even worse temper than me. Do you believe that?”
The crucial point was that the little guy could read people’s expressions and knew who he could bully.
Fu Rong was silent for a moment. He knew Chi Yao was right; Chi Yan was just over a year old, but he was already quite clever. He behaved a bit better in front of them, but in front of others, he was like a little tyrant.
He had a completely arrogant personality, even a bit more so than Chi Yao.
“Were you like this when you were young?” Did you also enjoy hitting others for no reason?
“I only hit people when they annoyed me. I wouldn’t do it if they didn’t provoke me.” Chi Yao defended himself.
“He has both of us spoiling him.” Although Chi Yao would correct some of his wrong behaviors, overall, he was still very indulgent toward the baby.
