Infidelity? He no longer has that capability.
Chi Yao and Fu Rong share a very warm relationship. They communicate any issues directly, without waiting for the next day.
Their relationship is envied by many around them.
Several former singles, influenced by the two of them, have started looking for partners.
However, no one has found a love as strong as theirs.
One friend, feeling particularly envious, jokingly remarked that Chi Yao never takes care of Fu Rong, while Fu Rong often travels for work. Although their relationship is great, if Fu Rong ever played around while on a trip, and someone brought a child to find Chi Yao, what would he do?
Although they knew it was impossible, they still made the joke.
So far, very few people know that the baby is Fu Rong’s biological child. Fu Rong’s parents know because he doesn’t lie; that child is definitely Fu Rong’s. When the child was younger, it wasn’t obvious, but as he grew a little, features began to resemble Fu Rong, especially when he pouted his little face, looking just like Fu Rong did as a child.
However, Fu Rong’s parents wouldn’t tell outsiders about this. If someone whispered in their ears that the child belonged to Chi Yao, not Fu Rong, they would wonder if Fu Rong’s family would have no children after their marriage.
Before the person could say much more, they were immediately reprimanded by Fu Rong’s parents, who told them to stop talking about such things in front of them, and to leave if they had more to say.
The parents likely knew a bit of the situation. They thought that making this matter public might not be good for Chi Yao, who is the person Fu Rong loves and also the father of Chi Yan. They’re all one family now, so they naturally wanted to protect him, which is why they haven’t told anyone about the child’s situation.
This includes Chi Yao’s circle, like Xue Zhongming and others. Even now that the baby is three years old and attending kindergarten, they still don’t know the child came from Chi Yao’s womb.
They all believe the baby belongs solely to Chi Yao, while Fu Rong, who loves Chi Yao so much, doesn’t plan to have his own child.
However, men, especially, have a stronger desire to pass on their lineage than women. Although Fu Rong doesn’t want to now, what if he wants one in the future?
Although it was just a joke, the friend’s words did give Chi Yao a little warning.
Chi Yao understood the concern behind it and nodded, indicating he would think it over when he got home.
He didn’t mention this to Fu Rong because Fu Rong wasn’t without children; Chi Yan is their child.
However, something surprising soon happened.
At that time, Fu Rong was going abroad for a while to handle some work, roughly around half a month. Chi Yao told Fu Rong to see how he felt, and if possible, he would take the baby with him in a couple of days.
Chi Yao himself has a strong preference for going abroad; he has seen enough scenic spots domestically.
Going abroad wasn’t just about sightseeing but about seeing his old partner.
Before Chi Yao was set to leave, a girl suddenly appeared in front of him. That day, Chi Yao had taken the baby out to buy new swimwear since they had a pool at home, but the baby didn’t like his previous one, so they bought a new one. When they returned to the community, a young girl blocked Chi Yao.
The girl glanced at the child Chi Yao was holding. The baby was particularly beautiful and cute, with snow-white skin that made others envious.
As the girl approached, Chi Yao squinted, sensing something was off.
But what she said next made Chi Yao want to laugh. The girl suddenly declared, “I hope you and Fu Rong break up.”
Chi Yao was taken aback and casually asked, “Why?”
“I’m pregnant with his child. You have a child, but Fu Rong doesn’t. You’re really selfish for holding onto him like this.”
Before Chi Yao could respond, the baby he was holding suddenly walked up and kicked the girl.
“You bad person! Are you trying to take my big daddy away? I won’t allow it!”
Chi Yan shouted loudly.
This statement brought Chi Yao back to reality.
He glanced at the girl’s stomach, which was clearly visible through her thin clothing, revealing that she was indeed pregnant, likely about five or six months along.
A pregnant girl coming to tell Chi Yao that she is carrying Fu Rong’s child and asking him to give way made Chi Yao want to laugh internally, but he maintained his composure.
“If possible, let’s discuss this inside.” Chi Yao approached and hugged his son, preventing him from kicking the girl.
The girl immediately had an unfriendly look in her eyes, as if she thought Chi Yao was going to harm her.
“Don’t worry, there are cameras installed everywhere here. I won’t do anything to you,” Chi Yao said, walking ahead and glancing back at the girl after a few steps.
The girl hesitated for a moment before following.
When they arrived home, the maid was surprised to see such a young girl, likely just of legal age and possibly still in school.
Chi Yao asked the maid to bring a glass of water. He initially intended to send the baby to his room while he spoke with the girl privately, but the baby refused to leave and hugged Chi Yao, saying, “I want to protect Daddy.”
This little guy was so small and yet wanted to protect him?
Chi Yao chuckled, but seeing how much his son loved him, he decided to let him stay. He also wanted him to see how his father handled the situation.
“You say the child is Fu Rong’s?” Chi Yao asked.
The girl immediately sat up straight, her eyes fixed on Chi Yao. “Yes, that day…”
“No need to go into details,” Chi Yao directly refused.
Chi Yao had been pondering how, despite Fu Rong’s excellence, no one had come to compete for him until now. And here was someone who claimed to be pregnant with his child. His surprise and curiosity overshadowed any feelings of anger or thoughts of betrayal.
In this world, the person who would never harm him was Fu Rong.
“There’s something about him that you might not know,” Chi Yao said, slightly teasing.
“My child is Fu Rong’s. You can’t have children with him, yet you let your son call him Daddy. You’re so selfish, only caring about yourself, not at all about Fu Rong’s feelings.”
“He will want children; I will give birth to this child. Even if he doesn’t end up with me, that’s fine, but I think he shouldn’t be with you. You’re just pretty.”
“You really only love yourself and not him.”
The girl spoke rapidly, like a machine gun, leaving Chi Yao no room to interject.
Chi Yao didn’t intend to interrupt. After she finished, he maintained his calm tone.
“Fu Rong has something he hasn’t told you, and that is…”
Chi Yao paused deliberately, as if wanting to make the girl anxious.
“What is it? That he promised not to leave you? You’re a man; how much of what you say can be trusted? Men are all selfish and only care about their own pleasure.”
The girl’s eyes blazed with anger, staring at Chi Yao as if he were her enemy, not just someone she was meeting for the first time.
“Fu Rong has undergone a vasectomy.”
Chi Yao quickly delivered this line.
“What?” The girl froze.
It seemed she understood but also didn’t.
“What did you just say? He had what kind of surgery?”
“He had a vasectomy at the hospital years ago. Even if he really did have something with you, you wouldn’t get pregnant.”
“Moreover…” Chi Yao leaned back against the sofa, his lips curving into a slight smile as his fingers moved to his collar, unbuttoning two buttons, revealing his collarbone and a small patch of fair skin below. He tilted his head; his previously gentle smile suddenly transformed, an irresistible charm glimmering in his eyes.
The girl was completely dazed, staring at the young man before her, who exuded a powerful allure. It was as if he was intentionally seducing her.
His actions, the slight flutter of his eyelids, and the smile on his face were utterly captivating.
“Do you really think you’re more attractive than me?”
Chi Yao’s voice dropped slightly, his tone thick and almost like a lover’s whisper.
The girl was completely stunned. What was he saying? This wasn’t the direction she had expected.
Wasn’t he supposed to be angry and hurt?
Why was his reaction so different from what she had imagined?
She could hear her heart pounding in her chest. She couldn’t deny the fact that the young man before her was too beautiful. Yes, beautiful—regardless of gender. Even a straight man would be attracted to him.
“You’re talking nonsense. How could Fu Rong…?”
The girl wanted to argue back, but Chi Yao smiled at her, his laughter echoing in her ears. She felt her heart racing, no, not just her heart—she felt a tingling sensation throughout her body. This person was simply too wicked.
He knew he had such a handsome face and was deliberately flaunting his charm.
“So what if he had a vasectomy? He could easily go and reverse it secretly. How do you know he hasn’t done that? And don’t smile like that; don’t think you can seduce me.”
The girl hurriedly stood up, her voice sharp, trying to mask her panic with volume.
“I know best whether my husband is successfully sterilized. If he weren’t, we’d probably already have a second child by now. I don’t care whose child yours is; since you’re already pregnant, I hope you take good care of it.”
“If you don’t want to bring it into this world, you can think it over yourself.” Chi Yao observed the girl and guessed that the father of her child was irresponsible, which was why she was trying to pin the child on Fu Rong.
This made Chi Yao even more astonished.
What had a friend said before? If one day a woman appeared and claimed to be pregnant with Fu Rong’s child, what would Chi Yao do? He thought Fu Rong wouldn’t care; he would only tell them that Fu Rong no longer had the ability to make someone pregnant.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about. You can deceive yourself if you want, but when Fu Rong comes back in a few days, you’ll know. At that point, you’ll be the one crying.”
The girl had clearly failed, yet she refused to back down.
She stormed out, and as she reached the door, she inexplicably turned back to look at Chi Yao.
Chi Yao had already turned away, bending down to feed his son fruit. The smiles on their faces at that moment were so dazzling that the girl just wanted to destroy it.
After the girl left, Chi Yao finally looked up. The girl’s figure had already disappeared. He picked up the phone, wanting to ask Fu Rong how he had come into contact with this girl. There had to be some interaction; otherwise, the girl wouldn’t have placed the responsibility of the child on Fu Rong.
After considering for a moment, Chi Yao decided to handle the matter himself. He contacted someone to investigate.
The matter was quite easy to investigate. Fu Rong did have contact with the girl, and one could say the interaction was fairly deep. However, it was certainly not the kind of betrayal of Chi Yao.
Instead, Fu Rong had helped the girl. The girl had a boyfriend who was a social figure, but he had deceived her for money and was abusive. When the girl got pregnant and confronted her boyfriend about the money, he not only refused to pay her back but also beat her up. Fu Rong happened to come out at that moment and witnessed this scene. He stepped in to help. The girl was injured and ended up in the hospital, and she had concealed this from her family. Now, she was also in debt due to high interest, all because of her boyfriend.
She didn’t have the money for medical expenses, and Fu Rong helped cover those. It could be said that the girl developed feelings for Fu Rong at that time.
She initially wanted to terminate the pregnancy but suddenly thought of Fu Rong. The way he had shown gentleness, especially when he learned she was pregnant, made his gaze soften. One could say that Fu Rong’s look made the girl fall in love with him instantly. Having been deceived by her boyfriend and experiencing emotional turmoil, the appearance of someone like Fu Rong, who seemed like an angel descending from heaven, gave her hope.
She secretly followed Fu Rong for a few days and learned that he had a lover and a child, but she found out that the lover was a man, and the child didn’t look much like Fu Rong; rather, he resembled that young man.
The girl came from a wealthy family, but her parents were not overly concerned about her. Not wanting her parents to know her situation, she kept quiet.
As she continued to stalk Fu Rong, her feelings for him grew stronger. She even began to fantasize about replacing the person by Fu Rong’s side and becoming his lover.
Since she was pregnant, she believed that Fu Rong would surely love the child.
The girl approached Chi Yao with this rather twisted mindset. However, the outcome was completely different from what she had expected. Chi Yao wasn’t angry at all and even mentioned that Fu Rong had undergone a vasectomy. How could that be?
It must be Chi Yao, this exceptionally handsome young man, who was enchanting Fu Rong. She felt she needed to rescue Fu Rong from Chi Yao’s clutches.
In an instant, the girl felt that what she was doing was entirely justified; she was helping someone.
The girl was extremely excited inside, feeling like a great benefactor.
However, she didn’t expect that, not long after, her parents would find out about her situation and come looking for her.
It wasn’t Chi Yao’s doing but rather Fu Rong’s intention. Fu Rong sent the girl’s ex-boyfriend to the police station to have them investigate thoroughly. As expected, they discovered that the ex-boyfriend had a history of theft and even ran someone over with a car. Once this came to light, the scoundrel would be facing several years in prison.
As for the girl, since she was pregnant, Fu Rong could have ignored her after covering her medical expenses if it was just her. But since she was young and had a child, Fu Rong contacted her parents after the scoundrel was taken to the police station. Her parents soon learned about the trouble their daughter was in and found her, who was lost in her fantasies. When the girl saw her parents, she was stunned for a moment and turned to run away.
Her father chased after her, catching up and bringing her back to the car.
The girl became frightened, thinking she would be scolded, but instead, her mother came over and hugged her while crying, apologizing and saying it was their fault for being too busy with their own affairs to care about her.
The girl didn’t understand what was happening or how her parents knew, but being held by her mother, she wanted to struggle. However, hearing her mother’s cries made her stop.
After a while, Fu Rong returned to the country.
Chi Yao had initially planned to deal with the girl’s situation, but unexpectedly, Fu Rong had already taken action before him.
Knowing that Fu Rong was handling it, he chose not to interfere.
After that day, the girl came to see Chi Yao, coming alone. She looked pale and had terminated her pregnancy. She had dropped out of school but was now planning to return. She came to apologize to Chi Yao, hoping he could forgive her, explaining that she had truly been unable to control herself at the time.
Chi Yao didn’t blame her and even said that if she had really been carrying Fu Rong’s child, he would support them.
Upon hearing this, the girl’s cheeks flushed bright red.
Having received Chi Yao’s understanding, the girl left and didn’t show up again afterward.
As for the baby, he wondered if Fu Rong had really done something to wrong Chi Yao.
When Fu Rong returned, he was about to hug his son when the boy slapped him in the face.
Neither Fu Rong nor Chi Yao understood what was going on.
“Yanyan, is this how you welcome Daddy?” Fu Rong said, holding his son in the living room.
Chi Yan was quite angry: “Bad Daddy, you’re out there looking for women!”
Chi Yan began to accuse him.
Fu Rong felt wronged and didn’t understand how he had been assigned this blame. He glanced at his wife, who was smiling as if she enjoyed the spectacle.
“Daddy didn’t do that. How could I? My heart only has you all.”
“Humph! There was a woman who came to our house, telling us to leave you, saying she had your baby.” Chi Yan remembered this clearly and recounted it.
After finishing, he attempted to hit Fu Rong again but was stopped when Fu Rong grasped his small fist.
“Chi Yao, what’s going on? A woman came by? Who? If someone is pregnant with my child, do you think I would allow that?” Fu Rong was bewildered.
“I don’t know.” Chi Yao lifted one leg and rested it on the coffee table.
Fu Rong took his son and placed him on the sofa. He pulled Chi Yao up, sat down, and forced Chi Yao to sit on his lap.
“If I could, we would already have a second child.”
Fu Rong placed his hand on Chi Yao’s abdomen.
“If you dare to make me pregnant again, I’ll kick you out,” Chi Yao threatened with a smile.
Fu Rong didn’t dare; he cherished Chi Yao too much to do that.
“What’s going on with that woman?” Fu Rong believed that the baby wouldn’t lie, and there had to be a woman involved.
“Someone you’ve helped before, a little girl, but she’s already had an abortion.” Chi Yao didn’t say more than that.
Clearly, this information was enough.
“Her ex-boyfriend went to prison; he was just a teenager, and studying is more important.” Having a baby at such a young age shows irresponsibility both towards oneself and the child.
“You, why are you so handsome? You attract so many admirers,” Chi Yao said, directly pinching Fu Rong’s face.
Fu Rong laughed, “Do I have more admirers, or do you?”
Chi Yao often received confessions of love, sometimes even in front of Fu Rong, which could lead to endless comparisons.
Suddenly, Chi Yao hugged Fu Rong and said, “Welcome home.”
Fu Rong was taken aback but embraced Chi Yao: “Hmm.”
The baby squeezed in between them.
Fu Rong picked up his son, and the three of them hugged together.
After this small interlude, things changed at Chi Yao’s family; something happened with his father.
His father ended up in the hospital, injured by his stepmother.
When Chi Yao learned of this, he thought someone was playing a prank on him.
He initially didn’t want to visit the hospital, but hearing his father’s voice on the phone, which sounded like he might cry—an expression of pity he had never seen before—made him decide to see just how miserable he was.
Chi Yao went to the hospital and learned from others what had actually happened to the seemingly loving couple.
It turned out that his stepmother’s daughter, Chi Yao’s stepsister, wasn’t actually his father’s child but someone else’s. For over a decade, his father had been raising another child.
When the stepsister got sick and had a blood test, it turned out that her blood type was completely different from his father’s, who could never father a child with her blood type.
After learning this, his so called father went into a rage and started fighting with his stepmother, who fought back with a fruit knife and stabbed him.
Although it didn’t hit any vital organs, he bled a lot.
His father had a mistress outside and wanted a son, but she never got pregnant.
As a result, Chi Yao was his father’s only son, and it was only after the betrayal from his wife that he thought of Chi Yao.
Chi Yao went to the hospital, bringing his baby with him. His father knew Chi Yao had a child, but he never liked Chi Yao. He married Chi Yao’s mother not out of love but for her family’s money. Chi Yao’s surname came from his mother, not his father, which made his father always feel a sense of resentment, thinking Chi Yao wasn’t really his son.
Now that he was alone, he finally remembered Chi Yao.
Outside the hospital, Chi Yao casually bought some fruit and took the baby upstairs.
Seeing his blood-related family lying in a hospital bed, Chi Yao felt no particular emotion. Having experienced his past life, he remembered this person had cursed him as a monster when he died. This man only carried the title of father, and Chi Yao had completely lost all feelings for him.
When Chi Yan arrived at the hospital, he disliked the smell of disinfectant and saw the person lying on the bed. The baby clung closer to Chi Yao.
The little guy, just like Chi Yao did when he was small, made Chi Yao’s father realize this was his grandson. He immediately smiled and reached out for Chi Yan.
Chi Yan was scared and buried his face in Chi Yao’s back, not wanting to see that terrifying figure.
“Baby, you wait outside for me,” Chi Yao said, sending the baby out.
The baby turned and ran outside, feeling the air was much clearer.
Chi Yao took a couple of steps closer to the bed.
“Little Yao, I’m sorry. Look at me now; I’ve received my punishment. Please don’t hold a grudge against me for the past.”
“It was wrong of me in the past, and now I know I was wrong. I apologize to you and hope you can visit me often; I have no other demands.”
“Also, the baby is so cute, just like you were when you were little.”
The man seemed to age several years in an instant, sincerely apologizing. During his hospitalization, none of his relatives cared for him; his mistress initially stayed a few days but then left, saying she wanted to travel and never returned.
Clearly, he had already received enough from the man.
That mistress was unwilling to care for an old man.
“Let the past go; I won’t hold it against you anymore.”
Chi Yao said, and the man’s eyes brightened immediately.
In the next moment, Chi Yao’s words felt like a knife cutting into the man’s heart.
“I now have a new family, and we don’t share the same surname; we are not family, as you said back then.”
“Mr. Yang, I hope you recover soon. You have no grandson; that child isn’t your Yang family’s grandson; he belongs to the Chi family and has nothing to do with you.”
“Goodbye.”
After saying this, Chi Yao walked away, seemingly unwilling to stay for another second.
Outside the door, he took the baby’s hand, and they left. His father’s voice echoed from the hospital room behind them, roaring like a beast.
Chi Yao pretended not to hear and told the baby, “That person is a bad man. If you see him again, run away, okay?”
“Yeah, when I grow up, can I hit bad people?” the baby asked, clenching his little fist.
“Better not. When you grow up, the bad people will grow old too. You can’t bully an old man,” Chi Yao laughed.
The baby nodded seriously.
