☆ Chapter 2
Ling Shaoze followed the tall, long-legged, and incredibly charismatic man into the infirmary.
Even though Ling Shaoze had bold intentions—having been instantly attracted to this man and even daring to invite him to spend the night—he would’ve chickened out if there were other people in the infirmary.
Unexpectedly, the infirmary was empty. There was only a humanoid, white metal medical robot and some standard medical equipment.
He Yi wasn’t surprised. The actual doctor worked on the third floor, and that doctor happened to be his friend—a notorious gossip.
If that guy saw He Yi bringing a teenager who had clearly been drugged into the infirmary, even if nothing was going on, rumors would fly.
But for a small issue like this, the advanced medical robot S-01 would suffice.
He Yi looked at the robot and pointed at Ling Shaoze. “S-01, scan him.”
Seeing the infirmary was empty, Ling Shaoze realized—he could do as he pleased.
As he entered, he closed the door behind him and even locked it.
He began to take off his slightly disheveled suit…
The robot approached and scanned the teen with a built-in device: “Beep. Detected presence of compound CY5211 in the patient’s system. Body temperature: 37.5°C. Increased adrenaline levels… Would you like to initiate treatment?”
Ling Shaoze leaned toward He Yi. “I don’t want treatment, gege. I just want you~”
He Yi was completely caught off guard. In his sixty years of life, being cold and distant by nature, he had never met anyone so bold and shameless.
His mind blanked for two seconds before the teenager embraced him again.
The boy practically clung to him.
This time was different—no matter how He Yi tried to push him away, he couldn’t avoid making contact with the teen’s fair skin. After a few moments of hesitation…
The next thing he knew, soft lips pressed against his.
Since graduating from the military academy, He Yi had spent his life either fighting the Zerg race, performing high-risk missions, or training recruits—he had never encountered such a fiery and passionate youth.
It was obvious the boy didn’t recognize him, so it probably wasn’t about status or reputation—he was likely just drawn by his looks and physique.
He Yi did not approve of the kind of behavior where people acted on impulse just because they were physically attracted to someone.
Frowning, he was just about to push the youth off him when the boy said softly, “Good gege, that was my first kiss. You’re the first person I’ve ever wanted to kiss the moment I saw.”
As he spoke, the boy leaned in again and gave the icy-faced handsome man another quick kiss on the corner of his lips, clearly pleased with himself.
Though bold, the boy’s actions didn’t seem like those of someone experienced. His gaze was direct and flirtatious, but when He Yi met his eyes, he quickly looked away with a hint of shyness and embarrassment.
He Yi didn’t know what nerve of his had been struck, but somehow, this mix of innocence and allure had stirred something in him.
Still, as a high-ranking Marshal known for his discipline, even if both his mind and body were reacting, he remained calm and controlled. He gently picked Ling Shaoze up and placed him on the infirmary’s patient bed, peeling the youth off himself once more.
Then he said coolly, “S-01, administer the drug treatment.”
The medical robot replied with a polite “Understood” and headed into the adjacent dispensary.
Ling Shaoze, having taken the initiative like never before only to be rejected again and again, snapped in frustration. “I don’t want drug treatment! If you can’t help me, then find me a man who can!”
He Yi, who had been on his way out, stopped at the door. He turned back to look at Ling Shaoze on the bed.
He’d always lived a conservative, restrained life, so much so that people had speculated whether he was sexually indifferent or even dysfunctional.
Of course, He Yi knew that wasn’t true. He just had strong self-control and had never met anyone who truly interested him, especially given his demanding military duties.
He also didn’t like “fooling around” and had always preferred the idea of falling in love once and marrying once—for life.
But in this interstellar era—where hookups could happen at the drop of a hat—finding someone who shared this same belief and who also appealed to him was nearly impossible.
This youth, however, was the first to stir both emotional and physical desire in him. Yet judging by how he acted, it was obvious their views on relationships didn’t really align.
He Yi’s eyes darkened as he asked coldly, “Are you really set on finding a man to ‘treat’ you tonight?”
Ling Shaoze shouted, “Yes!”
Of course, he wasn’t totally indiscriminate—He Yuteng was absolutely off the table, and so was anyone he didn’t find attractive or who were already taken.
But so far, the only one who caught his eye was right in front of him.
Still, despite taking the initiative and even giving up his first kiss, Ling Shaoze wouldn’t let himself seem desperate or clingy.
As he was lost in thought, he suddenly realized the man who had just left was back again.
The man grabbed his chin, leaned down, and kissed him fiercely.
Ling Shaoze was surprised for a moment, but quickly responded with equal passion.
Hmph, this man—his mouth says no, but his body clearly says yes!
This kiss was nothing like Ling Shaoze’s earlier attempts—it was intense and heated.
Since both of them were inexperienced, they bumped teeth awkwardly a couple of times in the midst of it.
After a long, heated kiss, He Yi’s voice grew a bit lower and huskier. “That was my first kiss too.”
Pressed beneath him, with lips soft and glossy from the kiss and eyes glistening, Ling Shaoze dazedly replied, “Mm.”
It was clear now—this super handsome guy wasn’t that much more skilled than him. Good, they were both amateurs—no one had the right to laugh at the other.
But what the handsome guy said next was a bit scary: “I’m not the casual type. I don’t mind helping you with your… treatment, but afterward, you’ll have to take responsibility. Are you sure you still want to go through with this?”
Ling Shaoze was even more confused. Huh? Sleep with him and then take responsibility?!
It was the year 9020 in the interstellar era—how could someone still hold such old-fashioned ideas?
Ling Shaoze shrank his neck and nervously backed down. “Um… S-01 is back. Maybe I’ll just go with the medical treatment after all…”
Responsibility? No way. He was a heartless little scoundrel with a dream of roaming free across the stars and seas. He couldn’t get tied down to just one tree.
In his past life, his parents had loved him dearly. They had fallen in love freely and married willingly, but later on, his father had another woman and child outside. His mother refused to divorce only to preserve his older brother’s inheritance rights.
Growing up in a family like that, Ling Shaoze didn’t believe in love.
As long as he never fell in love or stayed in any long-term relationship, he’d never be betrayed.
He Yi ordered S-01, who had just walked back in, to power down.
Then he turned to the boy, who was trying to hide completely under the covers and said coldly, “How about this—after tonight, as long as you make sure we never run into each other again, we’ll both go our separate ways.”
It wasn’t like He Yi couldn’t find someone else if he wanted to.
But that wasn’t something he needed to say out loud—he didn’t want to scare the kid off.
After all, it was rare for someone to stir something in him like this. He Yi wasn’t planning to let that go so easily. As for their incompatible views on relationships—well, the kid was still young. That could be corrected over time.
Hearing this, Ling Shaoze felt much more at ease.
Never crossing paths with someone again? That’s easy.
He’d already planned to apply for a school transfer once he got back—he wanted to get as far away from the main protagonist group as possible and avoid all that messy drama.
The interstellar world was huge—he could go anywhere and enjoy himself.
He didn’t even know the guy’s name. Once he left the Imperial Capital planet, the chances of them ever meeting again were slim to none.
And even if they did bump into each other someday, he could just pretend he didn’t know him—deny everything!
Thinking this, Ling Shaoze stopped hesitating. He peeked out from under the blanket and reached out with his slim, fair arms toward He Yi. “Gege, I’m a little cold… Will you hold me?”
Hearing those bold, provocative words, He Yi—already deeply tempted—didn’t hold back anymore. “Yes.”
In the small infirmary, a storm raged—wild and unstoppable.
…
…
By noon the next day—
When Ling Shaoze woke up, he found he was alone in the infirmary.
The infirmary had its own private bathroom, fully stocked with all kinds of medications.
Ling Shaoze had been thoroughly cleaned up by the man, who even applied a special ointment for him. The bed linens had also been changed to fresh spares, so he actually slept quite comfortably.
When he woke up, aside from some soreness in his lower back, he didn’t feel too bad.
However, recalling his first experience from last night—when he ended up crying and begging for mercy but still couldn’t get the man to stop—left Ling Shaoze feeling a bit traumatized even now.
With a combat power of just 20, why had he gone and provoked a werewolf with a combat power of 100?
And that man had even used #%& and other censored methods* to force information out of him—his name, school, address… Then made him exchange private contact info (which in this era functioned like a combined smartphone, WeChat, QQ, Weibo, etc.).
Right now, Ling Shaoze just felt one thing: regret. Deep, profound regret.
Luckily, the man had left first.
Ling Shaoze spotted a new set of clothes next to the bed—in his size.
On the nightstand, there was a high-grade strawberry-flavored nutrient drink, along with a note that read:
“I had to leave for something. Contact me via light brain.”
Contact… my ass!
Ling Shaoze picked up his own light brain wristband from the nightstand, opened the communication interface, and without hesitation, blocked the “Y” gege he had added last night while sobbing—swift and merciless.
A true scumbag—shameless and proud.
It was already noon, and Ling Shaoze was definitely hungry.
He changed clothes, bit into the strawberry-flavored nutrient drink, and walked out of the infirmary.
Gotta admit—the nutrient drink was sweet and tangy, and actually pretty tasty.
Ling Shaoze finished the nutrient drink in a few gulps, tossed the empty tube to a cleaning robot, and stepped into the elevator.
On the second floor, the elevator stopped, and in walked a tall man—handsome in a roguish, playboy kind of way, with a dark red shirt that was more unbuttoned than buttoned.
Ling Shaoze was sure he’d never met this guy before, yet for some reason, he looked strangely familiar…
The man was also surprised to see Ling Shaoze in the elevator. He reached out, trying to pat Ling Shaoze on the shoulder. “Ah, A’Ze, you’re still here? I had something urgent come up last night and couldn’t spend time with you properly. Really sorry about that.”
Ling Shaoze quickly sidestepped, dodging the man’s hand.
Holy crap—he remembered now! This guy was the original novel’s male lead, the scummy love interest He Yuteng that the original Ling Shaoze had been pathetically chasing after!
And He Yuteng’s so-called “important urgent business” last night? Wasn’t that just a one-night stand with a cute waiter he’d just taken a fancy to? Ling Shaoze knew.
Ling Shaoze smiled. “Ah, what a coincidence. I also had something very important to take care of last night, so I didn’t have time to keep you company either, Senior.”
What’s there to show off about? He was now also someone with a spicy nighttime life—hmpf!
He Yuteng didn’t catch the hidden meaning in Ling Shaoze’s words—that his “very important business” was the exact same kind of business: messing around with another man.
He just thought Ling Shaoze had gotten held up with something and ended up spending the night in a guest room at the He family’s estate.
As far as He Yuteng was concerned, all he had to do was crook his finger, and this pretty-but-useless boy would fall head over heels again, completely captivated with him.
Looking at Ling Shaoze’s stunning, enchanting face, He Yuteng felt an itch in his heart. This boy was far superior to the “prey” he’d played with last night—an absolute gem. He even bore a faint resemblance to Song Qinghe, the one person He Yuteng had never managed to get.
He Yuteng flashed a charming smile and spoke in a soft, affectionate tone:
“Now that we both have free time, would little A’Ze be willing to have lunch with me, hmm?”
The way he said “little A’Ze” carried an inexplicable, lingering ambiguity.
