Chapter 50 – “What kind of terrifying Credit-Knife person is this?!”
“Stop! You thugs—don’t you realize what you’re doing is illegal?”
The woman couldn’t hold back any longer. She threw down the teacup in her hand and rushed forward, shoving away the men holding baseball bats.
“We only borrowed twenty thousand yuan! You said as long as we repaid it within a month, you’d charge the bank’s interest rate! Even if we were late, it’d just be three percent per month—how did it suddenly jump to a hundred thousand in just half a month?! This is worse than loan sharks!
And now you’re assaulting people—I’m calling the police! I have the contract. I’m getting a lawyer to sue you!”
The man on the couch hadn’t reacted at all to her earlier words, but when she mentioned the contract, his eyes locked sharply onto her face.
His brow twitched, the hideous scar across his face twitching along with it.
“Contract? Oh, thanks for the reminder. I almost forgot. Dongzi, get the contract—let her have a good look at what she signed.”
The underling seemed used to this sort of thing and casually tossed the already-prepared contract to the woman.
She hurriedly opened it—and the moment she read the additional clauses, she froze.
Back when they signed it, the repayment terms clearly said “if the payment is overdue by the end of the month, a 3% monthly fee would apply.”
But now? The contract said “3% per day.”
The woman’s expression collapsed. She pointed at the man lounging on the couch:
“This is fraud!”
“Fraud? Sure, call it whatever you want. You were about to call the cops, weren’t you? Here—take the phone. Call.”
He tossed her his phone with a sneer.
“But let me kindly remind you—your husband got beaten up by them, not me. If they go to jail, I’m still out here. And your debt still needs to be paid.”
Just as he finished speaking, the underling he’d signaled stepped forward again, lifting the bat to strike the husband’s already broken leg.
The room echoed with the crack of breaking bones, screams, and desperate pleas for mercy.
After a few moments, the man raised his hand and the thugs backed off.
He grabbed a new contract from the desk, walked over, and slapped it against the woman’s face.
“Here. New contract. Sign it and you two can leave. I’ll give you one day to raise the money. The day after tomorrow, I’ll send someone to your house to collect it.”
Hands trembling, she took the paper—and the moment she saw the number, her vision blacked out.
A hundred thousand had now become two hundred thousand.
They were doomed.
The man seemed to know what she was thinking. He smirked coldly and said,
“Don’t think that dying will get you off the hook. You’ve got a daughter. You’ve got parents. If you dare die, I’ll make sure they all die before you and your husband. You know how I, Erlang Shen, never—”
Bang bang bang!
There was a sudden loud knock on the door.
“Gou Dan, open up!”
Gou Dan: “…F*ck! Who the hell is shouting at my door? Drag ‘em in—I’ll beat them to death myself!”
Before he even finished his sentence, the large door burst open with a BANG, slammed right into the opposite wall, and left a deep dent.
“No need. I’ll let myself in.”
Tu Shanju stepped in, waving away the dust in the air with disdain.
Everyone in the room stared at her, wide-eyed as if they’d just seen a ghost.
Tu Shanju turned her head slightly.
“Xie Shiyu, you can start recording now.”
Xie Shiyu nodded, pulled out his phone, and started recording.
Tu Shanju swept her gaze around the room, voice casual:
“I’m here today to make sure Gou Dan turns over a new leaf. All of you here, be witnesses.”
She unwrapped a red lollipop and popped it into her mouth, then tilted her head and looked at Gou Dan, whose eyes had turned from black to amber.
“Gou Dan, let me ask you—are you going to walk the right path from now on?”
Gou Dan opened his mouth to curse:
“F*ck you, you bi—”
But before he could finish, Tu Shanju moved like lightning, yanked a bat from one of the men beside her, and swung it hard at his leg.
CRACK!
Gou Dan dropped to one knee with a wail.
“AAAH! My leg!”
Tu Shanju casually wagged her index finger at him.
“No, you’re mistaken. That’s your dog leg.”
The underlings—now standing pressed against the wall—were in absolute shock.
Their boss, who once fought off more than a hundred men in a street brawl, had just had his leg broken by a girl who hadn’t even used any fancy moves?
And she just called him a dog?!
Gou Dan noticed the stunned expressions on his men’s faces and felt his pride shriveling into the abyss.
This girl could call him by name—obviously, she was sent by that old man from home.
Well then, no need to hold back.
Instead of getting up, he dropped fully to the floor on all fours, his expression turning vicious. Muscles bulged under his shirt, which started to tear, and brown fur began sprouting from his skin.
Don’t hold him back—he was about to transform!
Tu Shanju inhaled deeply.
So that’s why people call someone with a bad temper “dog-tempered.”
Makes sense now.
To avoid terrifying the ordinary folks in the room, she quickly pinched a freshly drawn demon-sealing talisman from her pocket and flung it.
The talisman landed squarely on Gou Dan just as he was mid-transformation. Instantly, he felt his demon energy sealed.
He cried out in shock:
“You’re a demon hunter?! F*ck—did that old man really go that far this time?!”
Tu Shanju couldn’t be bothered to answer.
If she felt like it, she could be any kind of “Master”—fortune-teller, ghost hunter, demon exorcist, talisman practitioner, you name it.
WHAM!
Another punch landed square on his face.
Tu Shanju grabbed his neck with one hand and easily lifted him into the air.
“Your dad spoils you too much. For a rebellious little punk like you, there’s no point in reasoning. You just need a good beating.”
With that, her free hand punched him square in the stomach.
She glanced coldly at him—his eye sockets were bleeding—but her tone remained calm:
“I don’t care about the crap you did before. I only care about what happened after your dad made that Credit-Knife deal with me.”
“Starting today, the Erlang Shen Gang is disbanded. No more bullying the weak. The company will operate with standard legal interest rates. Can you do that?”
Gou Dan was in disbelief.
His ears must’ve been ringing.
Did she just say—
His dad made a Credit-Knife deal with her?
She’s a Credit-Knife person?!
Who the hell has ever seen a Credit-Knife person this brutal?!
Was she here to scam dogs or something?
Seeing he didn’t answer, Tu Shanju raised her fist again.
Gou Dan’s eyes darted—he immediately caved:
“I’ll change! I’ll change! I’ll do everything you said!”
Tu Shanju gave a faint smile, seemingly satisfied, and slowly released her grip on his neck.
But Gou Dan’s eyes gleamed with cunning.
The moment his feet hit the ground, he gathered all his strength in his palm—and swung it fiercely toward Tu Shanju.
