Chapter 3
Yu Huai chuckled at them twice, and with her messy hair, Jian couldn’t bear to look at her, so Chi Xu closed her eyes in pain.
“If you want to do it, do it quickly.”
Yu Huai’s expression suddenly became serious. She held the knife steadily in her hand and cut it at the place with obvious lines and texture. The skin was slowly cut open, and thick blood and yellow pus gushed out little by little, with a pungent fishy smell.
Chi Xu just gritted his teeth and didn’t make any sound of pain. He looked at the little girl in front of him who was very calm, not even shaking her hands. She was a poor liar and didn’t know any medicine, so how could she know to disinfect in advance? According to the current hygiene level in this remote village near the border, how could an ordinary peasant girl know so much.
He was just too lazy to argue with her.
After draining the blood, Yu Huai wiped it with a cloth and quickly crushed the two medicinal herbs.
Chi Xu wiped the sweat from his forehead and asked, “What is this?”
Yu Huai said without even looking up: “Dandelion and purslane.”
These two medicinal herbs also have the functions of clearing away heat and detoxifying, cooling blood and stopping bleeding.
After crushing it, he applied it around the wound and tied it with the cloth strip. Yu Huai clapped his hands and it was done.
Now all she could do was treat the wound. After all, there were no antibiotics, so she could only rely on the small cells in his body to kill bacteria.
Yu Huai instructed: “Remember to go to the hospital and treat your wounds after you get down the mountain.”
The man’s long eyelashes trembled twice. “How old are you this year?”
What’s with this tone of someone who’s been through it?
Yu Huai raised an eyebrow and looked at him, “You’re not going to default on your debt, are you?”
Chi Xu sneered, took out his wallet from his shirt pocket, and gave her twenty big unity notes.
Yu Huai’s eyes lit up and he quickly reached out to take it. “Isn’t it ten?”
“Do you understand tipping?”
“I understand.”
Yu Huai couldn’t stop smiling. He put the thick stack of twenty Great Unity notes into his pocket and patted them twice.
After all, they just met by chance, and this person was so generous, Yu Huai was happy to chat with him, “Twenty years old, I am twenty years old this year.”
Chi Xu looked her up and down. She was plain and ordinary, looking no more than sixteen years old.
He pulled a pack of cigarettes from his pocket and waved them in front of her, asking if he could smoke.
Yu Huai made a gesture of invitation.
Chi Xu’s eyes moved around her hand twice and then retracted, lighting a cigarette and slowly smoking it.
These hands are indeed the ones that have been doing farm work all year round.
The thick smoke blurred the vision of the two people.
“What are you going to do next?”
Yu Huai held her chin with her hand and looked at the dark mountain in front of her that was so dark that it could eat people. Since she came here, she naturally had to live well here. She had studied Chinese medicine for half of her life and had been exposed to it since high school. She was reluctant to let it go. Since she couldn’t let it go, she would continue on this path. Now that the country’s medicine is not yet developed, she can pass on the baton of Chinese medicine to more people.
“Go find a job in the city. You won’t starve to death.”
“Don’t want to get married? Your age is just right.” Chi Xu exhaled the cigarette and talked about women as if he was talking about cabbages in the field.
Getting married? Yu Huai had never considered it. A man without a reliable job was not reliable. At that time, she was fully devoted to traditional Chinese medicine, so she had never thought about such a thing.
But there is definitely nothing to talk about with a man like this who has so many shady ideas.
She showed her two pointed canine teeth and said, “How can I find a good one like this? I’d better make some money first.”
Chi Xu glanced at her and was quite self-aware. These dry ribs were the most dull to the touch.
Yu Huai covered his mouth and yawned. Nights without a mobile phone always made him feel particularly sleepy.
“I’m going down the mountain tomorrow. Do you want to stay on the mountain?”
Chi Xu thought for a while, his hand groping on the pistol for a moment, “I’ll give you another hundred, help me down the mountain, and help me make a phone call to the post office.”
“Okay, okay.”
Yu Huai nodded hurriedly. No matter whether the person was good or bad, anyone who could give money was the ancestor.
After saying that, Yu Huai took out his bedding, spread a mat made of bamboo strips on the ground, and covered himself with a tattered quilt.
When Yu Huai first saw his quilt, he found it very hard to accept. It was so torn and worn. How could he sleep on it?
After two days, she accepted it calmly. After all, this was the only condition she had. What else could she do?
If only he could study Chinese medicine until he reached graduate school, Yu Huai would feel that he definitely had an extremely patient spirit.
Seeing the man next to him staring at him, Yu Huai reached out and shook the quilt, “Do you want to cover yourself too?”
Chi Xu raised his hand in disgust and covered his nose lightly. He didn’t even want his feet covered.
Yu Huai rolled her eyes slightly. He had a fever now, and she didn’t believe that he wasn’t cold.
Lying down with his back to the person, Yu Huai yawned again, “If it’s too cold at night, I can give you the quilt for the sake of money.”
Chi Xu didn’t say anything. In the darkness, the only sound that could be heard was the clicking of the pistol in his hand.
In the middle of the night, a hot body as big as a mountain pressed down on her. Yu Huai was not very alert. After all, she had lived in a stable and peaceful life since she was a child. In a trance, she thought it was her ex-boyfriend approaching her.
She stretched out her hand to push the person, her voice soft and sticky, “What are you doing? Can’t you let me sleep well?”
The hot breath sprayed on her ear, and the big hand grasped her wrist, and then a low and hoarse voice sounded in her ear, “I’ll give you more money, lend it to me to warm it up.”
Yu Huai woke up immediately after hearing the unfamiliar voice.
It’s that man.
He frowned in the moonlight, looking extremely uncomfortable, shrinking his body and squeezing closer to her.
Yu Huai reached out and touched his forehead. It was burning hot, probably around 39 degrees Celsius.
“Are you still cold?”
The man responded softly.
If you’re still cold, it means your body temperature is still rising, which is not a good sign.
Yu Huai sat up, and the man immediately grabbed her wrist, looking at her with bloodshot eyes, “Where are you going?”
Yu Huai said seriously: “I’ll get you some hot water to drink and wipe your body.”
“No, let me hold you and keep you warm… I’ll give you extra money.”
The man exerted force on his wrists and pulled her down, hugging her body tightly with his arms and burying his head in her warm neck.
Now he no longer minds that she is dirty.
Yu Huai felt like he was tightly wrapped in a big furnace. Fortunately, he was transported through time. If the original little Yu Huai was here, he would probably be scared to tears by this man. No, if the original little Yu Huai was still here, he would have been married to the old cripple, and there would be no such things in the future.
For Yu Huai, hugging a patient is a small matter. She has seen hundreds of patients., hug Jane’s head and it will be drizzle.
