Professional Lover chapter 22

As Yan Chen stepped into the room, Qin Muye instinctively stepped back, bumping into the shoe cabinet with a loud “thud.”

An Yi heard the commotion and propped himself up to look over. His gaze met Yan Chen’s eyes in an instant.

His face changed instantly.

Yan Chen stared coldly at him, his sharp gaze like a bone-chilling knife, sweeping over An Yi’s sweaty hair, flushed face, and open collar.

An Yi quickly sat up straight and straightened his clothes.

But Yan Chen saw through his futile attempt to cover up, and his eyes reddened instantly.

He pushed Qin Muye aside and strode towards An Yi. Qin Muye hurriedly grabbed him. “What are you doing! Wait till you’re sane! He’s sick!”

Before Qin Muye could finish his sentence, Yan Chen suddenly turned around and punched him, causing Qin Muye’s mouth to bleed.

An Yi exclaimed in shock and rushed over. But in his haste, he didn’t notice the ground and stumbled, falling to the ground near Yan Chen’s feet.

He hugged Yan Chen’s thigh and said hoarsely, “Don’t fight! You’ve misunderstood! Qin Muye was just trying to help me…”

“Help you with what? Help you with your desires?” Yan Chen was furious, and he kicked An Yi away, grabbed Qin Muye’s collar, and punched him again.

Qin Muye also got angry and fought back. Two nearly two-meter-tall men fought in the cramped space, making a mess in no time.

An Yi tried to intervene, but Yan Chen thought he was defending Qin Muye, which made him even angrier. With brute force, he threw Qin Muye out of the apartment, locked the door, and dragged An Yi back to the sofa, ripping open his pajamas.

“Yan Chen! Yan Chen, calm down! Please don’t do this, I’m scared!” An Yi tried to push him away, but he couldn’t move him.

Yan Chen’s eyes were bloodshot, as if spewing fire, and the veins on his forehead and neck bulged, emanating a terrifying aura.

“How can I calm down! I’ve been lectured by my elder brother and sister at home for a month just to come out and see you early. And what do I find? You have nowhere to vent your damn desires, so you flirt with Qin Muye, right?”

Yan Chen pressed his knees hard against An Yi’s legs as he inspected him and cursed.

An Yi’s fair skin turned slightly red from the fever, resembling that of someone who had been drinking. Exposed to the cold air, he shivered, easily arousing one’s desire to abuse.

Outside the door, Qin Muye kept knocking, echoing Yan Chen’s frantic heartbeat.

Yan Chen cursed at the door and then gritted his teeth, turning An Yi over. An Yi sensed what he was about to do and panicked, crying for mercy as he crawled forward.

Yan Chen smirked, “Why won’t you let me touch you now? If you move again, I’ll carry you to the door for him to hear!”

With that, he pulled An Yi back and forcibly spread his body open.

The scorching body temperature, the trembling body, the crimson skin, the sparkling tears… everything amplified Yan Chen’s inherent destructiveness to the extreme.

He cast aside all patience and reason, with only one thought in his mind: to completely dominate An Yi inside and out.

An Yi kept crying and begging for him to let go.

Outside the door, Qin Muye heard his cries and became even more desperate, kicking the door and cursing, “Yan Chen, you bastard, are you even human?! He’s still running a fever, open the damn door!”

Yan Chen grabbed An Yi’s neck from behind, pushing aside his hair soaked with tears, and asked coldly, “You’re so hot, does he know?”

An Yi kept shaking his head, “Please, Yan Chen, listen to my explanation, it’s because of Xiao Ya… ah… please…”

“Don’t fucking change the subject!” Yan Chen slapped his thigh, leaving a vivid red mark on him, “Answer my question, does he know? Did he fuck you?!”

“No! No…” An Yi cried harder, his hands bound behind his back, unable to resist, “Please, don’t be angry! Let me go first!”

Qin Muye’s cursing continued, and he made a big dent in the iron door panel with the fire fighting equipment from the hallway.

“If you don’t open the door, I’ll call the police! Yan Chen! Open the damn door!”

This only added fuel to the fire.

Yan Chen became even more fierce, ignoring how hard An Yi cried, just lowering his head and continuing mercilessly.

An Yi’s hoarse throat eventually couldn’t make a sound, his knees turning red from rubbing against the floor, his body shaking violently. Yan Chen then lifted him up and carried him to the bedroom.

An Yi felt like he was going to die.

The angry curses, flickering lights, and desperate pleas all mixed together in his mind, causing a splitting headache.

His vision started to darken, and suddenly, in an instant, his consciousness became blurry, as if everything was slipping away from him.

When he woke up again, breathing was difficult, and every joint in his body was sore.

He forced his eyelids open and found Yan Chen’s arms tightly wrapped around his waist. With a slight movement, Yan Chen woke up behind him.

Yan Chen reached out to touch his forehead, and An Yi instinctively flinched.

“Tsk, try avoiding me again?” Yan Chen’s tone was harsh, and as his fingertips touched An Yi’s forehead, urgent knocking on the door came again.

Yan Chen became annoyed, “Get out of here!”

“An Yi! Open the door quickly!” This time it was Lin Yuming shouting from outside.

An Yi’s eyelids twitched.

Seizing the opportunity while Yan Chen wasn’t paying attention, he pushed him away with all his strength, not bothering to put on clothes, just wrapping a blanket around himself and running to open the door.

Outside, it was still dark, and An Yi couldn’t tell the time. Lin Yuming was soaked in cold rainwater, anxiously saying, “Why didn’t you answer my call? Come with me to the hospital! Hurry!”

An Yi panicked, scrambling to pick up his clothes from the living room, asking as he put them on, “What’s wrong? What happened to Xiao Ya?!”

“…She’s in hemorrhagic shock, in the emergency room.” Lin Yuming’s words made An Yi’s knees go weak, and he knelt on the ground with a thud.

Yan Chen ran out of the bedroom upon hearing this, equally shocked, “When did this happen?!”

“No time to explain, hurry up and come with me!” Lin Yuming urged, not having time to ask about the situation with these two. He immediately called his colleagues outside to follow up on the situation.

Yan Chen wrapped An Yi in his coat, grabbed the car keys, and went to the hospital with them.

Even though the Porsche 911’s performance was outstanding, even though Yan Chen drove recklessly and didn’t wait for red lights, when An Yi arrived at the ICU, it was still a step too late.

Several doctors and nurses stood by with regret and compassion, while only a cardiac resuscitation machine mechanically pressed on the collapsed chest of his sister.

An Yi stood a few steps away, staring blankly at this scene, unable to approach.

He had been in the hematology department for nearly half a year, and almost all the doctors and nurses here knew how close he and his sister were. At this moment, anyone could understand An Yi’s reluctance to accept the reality. It was Lin Yuming who stepped forward and gently patted An Yi’s back, “We’ve done our best, but whether to stop resuscitation… it’s up to you.”

An Yi listened to the strong compression sound of the machine, watching his sister’s pale body tremble with each mechanical press, feeling her heartache as if it were being squeezed.

His Xiao Ya, who was most afraid of pain.

Pressed like this, why didn’t she move or cry?

“Is there really no other way?! Can’t you think of anything else? I’m begging you!” Suddenly, An Yi grabbed Lin Yuming’s hand, his voice filled with fear. “Go give her a shock, maybe she can wake up!”

“An Yi… all possible methods have already been tried,” Lin Yuming choked up. “When I called you, they were already trying to resuscitate her.”

And now, nearly four hours had passed.

The miracle never came.

“…Stop,” An Yi covered his face, his voice trembling.

As the machines were turned off, he walked over, knelt beside the hospital bed, and tightly held An Ya’s cold hand against his feverish cheek, burying his head and crying uncontrollably.

Yan Chen parked the car and ran up, his heart sinking at the sight.

He wanted to rush over, but Lin Yuming stopped him. “Let him be alone at a time like this.”

Lin Yuming and Yan Chen waited outside the ICU. Before long, the quiet hospital corridor was interrupted by hurried footsteps.

They both looked over, and Qin Muye rushed over in a flurry. “What’s going on?”

Lin Yuming didn’t say anything, just shook his head. Yan Chen’s expression was not welcoming either.

Qin Muye, burning with anger, restrained himself due to the hospital environment in the middle of the night. He pointed at Yan Chen a couple of times warningly. “We’ll settle tonight’s matter later.”

Yan Chen, already irritated, gave him a disdainful glance. “You better keep your distance from me.”

Lin Yuming said coldly, “If you’re going to argue, do it outside.”

The corridor fell silent once again.

The three of them stood or sat, each lost in their own thoughts, keeping their distance from each other.

When the door to the ICU opened, a medical attendant pushed out a stretcher, with An Yi beside it, still holding the hand covered by a white sheet.

As the three waiting outside stood up, Yan Chen quickly approached. Just as he was about to call out “An Yi,” a loud slap resounded as it landed on his face.

Yan Chen’s head was tilted to the side from the force of the slap.

His cheek burned with pain.

He looked dazedly at An Yi, who had already walked away.

Leaving him with only a desolate figure.

Yan Chen, 99.99% doing it wrong…

But I’ll say it again, this story is over the top and melodramatic. If you can’t accept it, please don’t continue. An Yi’s relationship with someone else in the later part of the story is a major turning point for him personally, not out of revenge, but more because he’s canceling Yan Chen’s privileges in his life. (This other person is also an important character later on and will make an appearance later.

I like Qin Muye’s character development.
Also YC never grew up. All he’s done so far is act in a childish manner. He needs some education, which I’m hoping An Yi will provide in the future
