Chapter 109: Demon Realm Soul Seizure (Part 2)
Shen Suwei’s long hair was not tied up, scattered on the pillow, giving him a slightly more alluring appearance than usual. But up close, his lips were tightly pressed, his composed demeanor was held together, and there was a cold aura that made it clear he was keeping people at a distance.
Xu Qianyu had been lingering for a while, her eyelashes fluttering. If not for the faint disordered breath she could sense near his nose, she might not have realized that her senior brother was deliberately opposing her.
As she hesitated, she quietly tugged at the collar of his shirt, and to her surprise, she saw the bite mark she had left the other day was still there.
A dark red scar stood out against his cold, pale neck.
Seeing the scar so suddenly, Xu Qianyu felt a slight ache for him.
But Shen Suwei did not erase the scar, and now, as it fell into her sight, it gave her a sense of certainty, an overwhelming confidence: he would open up.
So she became more focused and determined, like a stubborn child, using every method she could think of to pry open a closed oyster shell.
However, she still underestimated Shen Suwei’s composure. Xu Qianyu kissed for a long time, feeling that her lips were getting sore, a little tired, and somewhat confused. She lifted her head and sighed.
Before she could even finish her sigh, she felt a cool hand press on her neck. Then her whole body was flipped over, pinned beneath him. A sword-like pressure, sharp and cold like frost, descended, trapping her in a net.
Xu Qianyu felt several strands of hair fall on her cheek and arm, tickling slightly, but her attention quickly shifted.
Shen Suwei was focused on kissing her lips. Though gentle and deep, the kiss lasted long, with very brief pauses. Each time, before she could take a breath, he would gently press his lips back against hers.
When Xu Qianyu finally reacted, the comfort had turned into a tender hunt. She could only breathe when she managed to catch a breath, feeling her ears burning. Instinctively, she struggled, but Shen Suwei pinned her wrist down, his grip like a restraint, not letting go until she had no strength left and her body went soft.
He casually tucked the strands of hair stuck to her lips behind her ears and softly said, “Satisfied now?”
Xu Qianyu breathed deeply, and when her head cleared, she sensed some dark emotions in the kiss.
She glanced sideways and saw her senior brother lying beside her again, no longer speaking.
Xu Qianyu sat up, feeling embarrassed by the way things were developing. She wasn’t one to give up easily, so she turned over and pressed herself on him, biting his lips for a while. Realizing that this was clearly not going to get her anywhere, she let her lips slide messily down his neck.
But just as her lips brushed his neck, Shen Suwei suddenly pushed her down.
Xu Qianyu was inexplicably dropped back onto the bed. She touched her lips and muttered, “What’s wrong? Didn’t I do it right?” Then, “I learned it from you.”
Shen Suwei calmly replied, “Do you treat others like this as well?”
Xu Qianyu was about to respond, but then, with a quick glance, she composed herself and said, “It depends on who the ‘others’ are.”
Shen Suwei fell silent again.
Xu Qianyu felt a bit stifled in this atmosphere. After a while, she leaned her neck toward him. “Or you can bite me back; I don’t like owing anyone.”
The sweet scent grew closer, and Shen Suwei opened his eyes, staring at Xu Qianyu’s pale neck, where soft, small strands of hair had fallen. After a long silence, he parted his lips: “Since there’s no scar on your body, would it be alright if I left an indelible mark here?”
“It’s fine,” Xu Qianyu replied, though a little conflicted. “But it’s better if it’s somewhere covered by clothing, not exposed to others, and it can’t affect how I look in the mirror when I get dressed.”
Shen Suwei pushed her away slightly. “You find a place for me.”
Xu Qianyu sat to the side, seriously considering it. She thought for a long time.
Her arm wouldn’t work, as it would show when she rolled up her sleeve; near her collarbone, though usually hidden, would be visible when she swam; her waist wasn’t suitable either because she had carefully chosen her outfit for the upcoming autumn. She then thought about her chest, back, and legs, trying to figure out where the pain would be least…
Shen Suwei listened quietly as she rustled around for a long time, then sat up and watched her in silence.
Finally, he could no longer endure as he watched Xu Qianyu carefully draw out one of her legs from her clothing. He reached out, pressing that leg back down, lifted Xu Qianyu’s collar, and pulled her toward him.
The disciple’s clothes couldn’t withstand the force and made a ripping sound. Both of them froze.
Shen Suwei didn’t stop. He pulled hard along the tear and ripped her collar open, then bit down on her neck.
Xu Qianyu thought to herself that it seemed like he was going to leave a mark in the same spot again, which was only fair.
Shen Suwei buried his face in her neck, inhaling the soft, sweet scent. It smelled like the snow-fat fragrance she often used, but also like someone untouched by hardship, with a fragile, naive aura.
He suddenly remembered the story Xu Qianyu told about getting her ears pierced. She was spoiled and pampered, so ordinary pain felt a hundred times more unbearable to her. That sense of destruction, like a storm building up, was wrapped in painful threads, unable to release.
When it finally did, it turned into a kiss.
Xu Qianyu gripped the edge of her clothes tightly, tensing her body, bracing for the pain, but instead, she felt a surprisingly light, soft, and warm sensation. The feeling was so intense, almost overwhelming.
It felt like a warm wave spreading through her heart, drowning her in its embrace.
Shen Suwei, the sword master known for coldness and decisiveness, had never shown this kind of contradictory, indirect retreat. In this moment, Xu Qianyu instinctively thought, senior brother likes her.
The pain in her waist became unbearable, breaking her train of thought.
Shen Suwei hadn’t meant to pinch her, but his hand on her waist had tightened a little due to his emotions. Having buried his face in her neck, he lingered for a few moments, then lifted his gaze and said calmly, “Do your ten male servants at home serve you like this?”
“No,” Xu Qianyu replied, looking at him. “They just help me put on my shoes.”
“…”
“…”
Xu Qianyu asked, “How do you know I have male servants?”
Shen Suwei threw a leaf from his sleeve. The floating grass fluttered and landed on the bed, then seemed to grow little legs and “whooshed” into Xu Qianyu’s sleeve.
Shen Suwei, realizing he had acted too rashly, silently tidied up the bed. “If you still want to sleep here, you should get some rest.”
Xu Qianyu lay down but suddenly turned over to face him, her eyes bright and alluring. “Do you like me?”
Shen Suwei stared at her for a moment, then replied without answering, “Put your clothes back on. Don’t expose yourself casually in front of others.”
Xu Qianyu, displeased, said, “It’s not like I go around taking off my clothes all the time.”
Shen Suwei added, “Since you insisted on going to the flower banquet, stay close to me and don’t act recklessly.”
Xu Qianyu said, “Got it.”
The two of them then went to sleep. Xu Qianyu felt that the atmosphere, like the calm before a storm, had dissipated. Tomorrow, there should be no obstacles.
She shuffled over and cautiously asked from behind, “Do you like me?”
Shen Suwei still didn’t answer. Xu Qianyu wasn’t discouraged by the lack of confirmation, but she still felt restless, even thinking of coming back tomorrow to ask again.
Inside the boudoir, Xu Qianqian was spitting out black blood, and several maidservants were frightened, their faces pale. Biyun jumped up and said, “I’ll go call the Second Young Master!”
Xu Qianqian herself was trembling in fear but stopped her, saying, “It’s fine; I’m not in much pain.”
Her grandfather had already informed her that the method of transferring the spiritual root carried risks, and each person might have different reactions.
Just as she had told the maidservants, although she had felt some discomfort over the past few days, it was bearable. She wiped her lips with a handkerchief and said, “Clean this up.”
After rinsing her mouth, she took a pill.
This time, she wanted to make some changes, and she couldn’t retreat like last time because of weakness.
The maidservants complied but didn’t dare to tell Xu Qianqian that there were occasional deep and shallow black streaks on her face.
On the other side of the wall, Xu Jiansu naturally knew nothing about this.
And since he didn’t need to accompany Xu Qianqian, he had plenty of time to do things he hadn’t been able to do before. Xu Baopu happened to see Xu Jiansu flirting playfully with a tall female cultivator under a tree.
The female cultivator didn’t wear the disciple’s uniform but instead a tight-fitting leather skirt and long boots, outlining her curvaceous figure, both heroic and charming. She touched Xu Jiansu’s face, smiling triumphantly.
When they parted, Xu Baopu asked, “What’s going on? Have you found a partner?”
“What are you talking about?” Xu Jiansu took a sip of water and looked through the window to see Shen Suwei flipping through a sword manual in the library. He said, “Everyone gets what they need, just playing around and keeping company.” Then he added, “Hey, Senior Brother, did you see Xiaoxiao? Isn’t she pretty? That’s a beauty. Unlike Junior Sister, she’s short. The people who always stay by Junior Sister’s side, I bet there’s something off about them.”
Xu Baopu said, “What does this have to do with Junior Sister? And stop saying Qianyu is short.”
Fu Shuangshuang was petite, about the same height as Xu Qianyu. Every time Xu Jiansu brought this up, Xu Baopu felt like Fu Shuangshuang was being insulted as well.
“I’m not wrong. Every time I talk to her, I don’t lower my head, and she can’t see my face. Isn’t that short?”
“Short, short, short, you yourself are towering like the sky?” Xu Baopu slapped the sword manual onto his body. “Besides, Junior Sister is still young, and she’ll grow taller. You don’t look like a senior brother at all. Get out!”
Xu Jiansu thought it was strange—why did everyone seem to be against him? “Senior Brother, do you have a motherly love for Junior Sister?”
Before Xu Baopu could react, he grinned mischievously, took the sword manual, made a gesture, and slipped away.
Xu Baopu entered the library, looking at Shen Suwei’s figure, deep in thought.
Xu Jiansu often linked Shen Suwei with Junior Sister, and after saying it so many times, it inevitably got into his heart. Recalling all of Shen Suwei’s strange behavior before, Xu Baopu’s heart sank, and he entered the library.
“Suwei, have you ever thought about finding a partner?”
Shen Suwei’s fingers stiffened. This was the second time his senior brother had asked him. He had a premonition but answered the same way as the first time: “No. My fate is inauspicious. I don’t want to bring trouble to anyone.”
Xu Baopu stared at him for a long time before suddenly making a move. Shen Suwei immediately dodged, but the shadow of Xu Baopu’s palm was already coming, splitting into four parts, pinning him to the bookshelf. One hand grabbed his collar and yanked him sideways.
Shen Suwei turned his face away. There, on his collarbone, was a deep red ambiguous mark—small bite marks.
Xu Baopu was silent for a long time before speaking, “You really surprise me.”
