Chapter 103: Gentle Human x Fierce Wolf Beast 15
Outskirts of a desolate mountain.
Jian Tong glanced down at Xi Jing, who was sprawled on the ground. Although he didn’t particularly like this male lead, he wasn’t at the point of wanting to bury him here.
He calmly averted his gaze.
Aside from himself, Ning Si, and Xi Jing, there were eleven other breaths on the mountain. These were likely the bodyguards Li Xiao and Cheng Jun had arranged in advance.
He wasn’t surprised by the presence of the beastman bodyguards nearby. It was obvious that those two beastmen wouldn’t let him and Ning Si act alone.
Ning Si picked up the blood-stained badminton racket again and tapped it against Xi Jing’s limp body. “I heard you stole other people’s songs to skyrocket to fame.”
Xi Jing spat out the blood in his mouth and lay sprawled on the ground.
“So what if I did? Who can prove those songs belonged to them?”
At this point, he wasn’t afraid anymore, adopting a defiant, unyielding attitude.
After all, Jian Tong and Ning Si didn’t seem intent on killing him. A beating was something he could handle. Once he got out of this mess, he’d find a way to get back at them.
Ning Si hissed, “You bastard, still trying to play the victim here!”
He swung the racket again, “I’ll teach you to act tough, I’ll make you regret it!”
Xi Jing whimpered, “Stop hitting me, or I’ll really die.”
Jian Tong watched their farce calmly, a sense of absurdity rising within him, as if there was something he hadn’t yet grasped.
In the original story, both Jian Tong and Ning Si were unfortunate souls dragged into Xi Jing’s mess, dying prematurely. In this world, Xi Jing was the only purebred human.
The main plot mostly revolved around Xi Jing and his nine beastman boyfriends.
From the current storyline, Xi Jing should still only be with the first male lead, Luo Yi. The other male leads hadn’t made their appearances yet.
“Luo Yi…”
He was a ruthless character, as cold-hearted as a snake. Having been in business for years, he never hesitated to act decisively. How could he suddenly take a liking to Xi Jing, who had accidentally stumbled into the beastmen’s world?
Could it really just be because Xi Jing was a purebred human?
It wasn’t impossible in the world of romance missions, but Jian Tong felt it wasn’t that simple.
“Businessmen value profit. What value does Xi Jing hold that would make Luo Yi pursue and exploit him?”
During a break from hitting Xi Jing, Ning Si chimed in, “What else? It’s obviously for Xi Jing’s flesh and blood.”
“Don’t forget, Xi Jing is a purebred human. Even a single drop of his blood could spark a frenzy and open up countless research opportunities.”
Jian Tong’s expression shifted slightly, and when he looked at Xi Jing again, his eyes carried a complex, inscrutable depth.
“Research…”
“Yes, that must be it.”
The only thing that could motivate a businessman was substantial profit, and Xi Jing just happened to possess it.
A purebred human with untainted bloodline was enough to cause a global sensation.
So, was Xi Jing’s rise to fame and his nine lovers truly orchestrated by him?
It was undeniable that Xi Jing wanted fame and to become the most renowned music king, but his flaws were glaring. His talent and abilities were limited.
So, did no one notice his theft of famous songs from the 21st century? Or was he discovered from the very beginning, even deliberately guided down this path?
As a human from the 21st century, Xi Jing naturally knew much about the history and culture lost in the 26th century. He was essentially a living fossil, offering beastmen a way to tap into ancient Chinese civilization.
As Xi Jing’s legal partner, Luo Yi could easily learn many things and even use them to achieve his own goals.
Luo Yi, the Luo family…
The Luo family’s business seemed to extend into the pharmaceutical industry. Luo Yi could quietly use Xi Jing for unethical human experiments or leverage Xi Jing to win over powerful figures as protectors.
How much of Luo Yi’s love for Xi Jing was tangled up in profit?
This seemingly perfect love story, upon closer inspection, was truly a farce. Xi Jing was foolish, but Luo Yi, who exploited him, was downright venomous.
A foolish singer desperate to climb the social ladder and become world-famous, and a scheming, ruthless businessman with ulterior motives—Jian Tong didn’t know what to say anymore.
