Chapter 142: The Sunshine Beta and the Obsessive Alpha 08
The He Family Villa.
Night fell quietly.
He Xu, who had spent the entire afternoon with his boyfriend Xu Jiayan, was trying to come up with an excuse to keep the other man at his house when suddenly, thunder roared outside and heavy rain began to pour.
Xu Jiayan, who was holding a bowl of rice, paused. Before he could even speak, the sound of the rain drowned out his words.
Damn it! How was he supposed to get home now?
He didn’t have to return to the dorm, as the school didn’t require sophomores to stay on campus every day. But how was he going to explain this to his brother?
Staying out overnight? His brother would definitely lecture him to death!
At this thought, Xu Jiayan suddenly lost his appetite. He frowned and stared outside, asking, “When will this rain stop?”
He Xu secretly rejoiced, but he maintained a calm and composed expression on his face.
“It might be late.”
“Jiayan, just stay here tonight. I’ll take you back to school tomorrow morning.”
Xu Jiayan poked at the rice in his bowl and said softly, “It’s not that I’m worried about missing class tomorrow. I’m afraid my brother will worry about me.”
“My brother is always afraid that I’ll be taken advantage of. He never lets me stay out overnight.”
Except for the time when he first started university and was too busy to go home every day, he had always returned home and never stayed out.
He Xu, curious after hearing Xu Jiayan mention his brother, asked, “You’re not that young anymore. Does your brother still not allow you to date?”
Xu Jiayan shook his head. “It’s not that.”
“My brother always thinks I’m still a child. He’s afraid I’ll be deceived by bad people.”
In his brother’s eyes, it seemed like he would always be that little kid who never grew up.
But he was already nineteen!!!
He Xu glanced at the young beta’s face. It was indeed tender and gave off the impression of being easily fooled.
And wasn’t that the case? He had already managed to lure the boy to his house.
The brother’s concerns were not entirely unfounded.
“Since your brother doesn’t object to you dating, just tell him you’re staying over at your boyfriend’s place. After all, I’ll have to meet him sooner or later.”
He didn’t just want to date Xu Jiayan; he wanted to marry him. Naturally, he would have to meet Xu Jiayan’s brother at some point.
Even alphas had to meet the parents!
Xu Jiayan glanced at He Xu and said, “With your appearance, you’ll probably scare my brother.”
He could accept a tough-looking alpha boyfriend, but his brother might not. His brother probably wanted him to settle down with another beta.
He Xu felt a sting in his heart.
He gritted his teeth and said, “What’s wrong with my appearance? It’s not like I’m a murderer or an arsonist!”
Xu Jiayan looked at his face, which would undoubtedly make him the campus bully, and remained silent for a long time, answering He Xu’s question with his silence.
“!!!” He Xu was shocked.
He explained, “The He family is a decent family, and I’m a very decent alpha.”
Xu Jiayan said softly, “I’ve actually heard about your reputation in the outside world.”
“They say you’re scheming, calculating, and a heartless devil who kills without blinking an eye and eats people without salt—a true wolf in sheep’s clothing!”
The name “Devil He Xu” was well-known in District A. Anyone who spent time online would have heard of it, as rumors about him were everywhere.
He Xu, the head of the top family in District A, had made other major families fear him like a tiger by the age of 28. He was a ruthless and cunning man.
And that was a rather modest description.
He Xu clenched his fists, wishing he could kill everyone who spread those rumors about him.
“Jiayan, I only fight back when necessary. I never provoke trouble on my own.”
He forced a smile and explained to Xu Jiayan, not wanting his boyfriend to have a bad impression of him.
“If it weren’t for those scumbags picking fights with me, I wouldn’t even bother with them!”
Xu Jiayan blinked and said, “Actually, I don’t care what kind of person you are. What matters to me is you.”
He Xu was stunned by his words. After a moment, he smiled brighter than the sun and looked tenderly at the young man beside him.
“As long as you’re not afraid of me because of this, nothing else matters.”
He ruffled Xu Jiayan’s hair and said, “Jiayan, I’ll slowly earn your brother’s approval and make him feel comfortable entrusting you to my care.”
Xu Jiayan nodded slightly. “Okay!”
He lowered his head and sent a message to Xu Jianan on his communicator, saying he wouldn’t be coming home that night.
Xu Jianan: [Are you going back to school?]
Candied Hawthorn: [No.]
Xu Jiayan glanced at He Xu, then typed on his communicator.
Candied Hawthorn: [Brother, I have a boyfriend now. I’ll bring him to meet you this weekend.]
Xu Jianan: […Okay.]
On the other end, Xu Jianan hesitated for a long time before finally typing the word “okay.”
