Chapter 152: The Sunlit Beta and the Obsessive Alpha 18
Two hours later.
Xu Jianan returned to the apartment complex with a calm expression, bringing He Xu and Xu Jiayan, who had been waiting outside, back home. He deliberately ignored the complicated look on Jiang Tao’s face as he followed behind.
Jiang Tao was utterly shocked.
The Omega brother of the future family head’s wife truly showed no mercy when it came to killing.
His calmness was almost uncharacteristic of an Omega.
As soon as Xu Jianan got home, his first action was to embrace his Beta brother.
“Xiao Yan, you have to stay safe.”
He desired freedom and the courage to move forward, but more than anything, he wanted his brother to be safe and healthy.
Xu Jiayan patted his brother’s shoulder, anxiously looking at his visibly downcast older brother.
“Brother, I’ll be fine, and so will you.”
Both brothers had to stay safe; neither could afford to have anything happen to them.
He Xu watched the brothers embracing, his doubts gradually growing.
For some reason, he felt there was something inexplicably strange about Xu Jianan.
He glanced at Jiang Tao, who had followed them inside, as if seeking an explanation.
Jiang Tao quietly swallowed, not wanting to bring up what he had witnessed earlier.
Who would have thought that this gentle, elegant-looking Omega could be so ruthless? His ferocity when enraged was nothing short of a nightmare.
He looked at Xu Jianan, who was putting on a gentle and warm front in front of the future family head’s wife, and then at the family head himself, who was suppressing his harsh demeanor and pretending to be composed.
Both of them were equally insane!
Jiang Tao couldn’t help but worry for the naive Beta.
With a brother and a boyfriend like this, Xu Jiayan was like a rabbit trapped in a den of wolves.
“???” He Xu frowned in confusion.
Why was Jiang Tao acting so strange? Was there really something off about Xu Jianan?
Xu Jianan slowly released his brother, gently patting the Beta boy’s head.
“Xiao Yan, why don’t you go back to your room for now?”
Xu Jiayan actually wanted to ask about Leng Yi’s fate, but under his brother’s gentle gaze, he nodded obediently and went back to his room.
After he left, Xu Jianan’s gentle expression vanished, replaced by a cold, icy look as he turned to He Xu.
“Mr. He, let’s talk.”
He Xu nodded slightly. “I was just thinking the same.”
He wanted to hear what Xu Jianan had to say and understand why his subordinate had shown such a complex and inscrutable expression.
Jiang Tao quietly excused himself, leaving the space to Xu Jianan and He Xu.
He Xu raised an eyebrow. “Ayan probably doesn’t know how quickly you can change your demeanor, does he?”
One moment he was a gentle older brother, and the next, he was a cunning, dark-hearted Omega.
Xu Jianan sneered. “Mr. He, how can you criticize me for changing faces so quickly when you yourself put on two different personas in front of Xiao Yan?”
He Xu wasn’t angered by this, as Xu Jianan’s words were indeed true.
“I did that because I didn’t want to scare Ayan or make him fear me.”
“And what about you? Why do you act this way?”
Given the relationship between Xu Jianan and Xu Jiayan, there was no need for him to put on an act.
Xu Jianan twisted his fingers, his voice low. “I used to be a gentle, kind-hearted, ordinary Omega…”
Even after his parents passed away and their family’s circumstances became humble, he still held onto hope for the world.
But suffering had changed the gentle person he once was.
He smiled bitterly, his expression icy. “But my life was ruined by a madman. He destroyed me, and the person I once was can never return.”
The Xu Jianan who had been reborn was no longer the soft, delicate Omega brother that Xu Jiayan remembered.
The endless torment had turned him into a cold, dark shadow of his former self, devoid of all brightness and warmth.
If it weren’t for his brother’s existence, he might not have even wanted to live after being reborn.
“The dream I told you about wasn’t just a dream. Those were things I actually experienced.”
“Except they happened in my past life.”
He stared coldly at He Xu. “Mr. He, have you ever heard of the term ‘rebirth’?”
“!!!” He Xu’s pupils dilated in shock.
Dreams, rebirth… This was it! The strangeness he had sensed was finally explained.
He frowned deeply. “So, the ‘dream’ you mentioned was actually your past life?”
“Did Ayan really die in that past life?”
Xu Jianan nodded heavily. “He died in the summer of his eighteenth year.”
“Leng Yi was the one who killed Xiao Yan, so in my past life, I killed him and paid with my own life. And in this life, I killed him again.”
He Xu glared at Xu Jianan with a fierce intensity, not caring at all about Leng Yi’s death.
“Did he come to you today because he, like you, was reborn?”
Otherwise, how could two people who had no connection suddenly become entangled?
Xu Jianan nodded slightly. “Yes.”
“So, I killed him again.”
This time, he didn’t go through the long, calculated waiting game of his past life. Instead, he used the fastest and simplest method to dismember that arrogant and reckless Alpha, ensuring that even in death, Leng Yi would find no peace!
Evil people should never die a peaceful death!!
