Chapter 25: The Wise Jinshi x The Obsessed Emperor 04
All was silent, the night shrouded in mist.
The master of Lin Feng Yuan was asleep, his long hair spread out on the pillow. His breathing was shallow, and the moonlight outside illuminated his peaceful sleeping face.
The white silk of his robe was slightly lifted, revealing a section of his slender waist.
Qin Jingchuan, who had arrived in the dead of night, narrowed his eyes at the sight.
He pressed his tongue against his teeth, his eyes fixed on the unsuspecting Yun Huai.
“Like jade piled high, like green pines in rows.”
“A peerless beauty, unmatched in the world.”
Qin Jingchuan strode to the bedside and stood there, his presence overwhelming, watching the man he had been thinking about for three days.
A surge of excitement, like a raging fire, spread from his brain to his entire body. His Adam’s apple bobbed slightly, and an indescribable thirst rose in his throat.
Qin Jingchuan raised his hand and rubbed Yun Huai’s lips. The plump, pale pink lips were ravaged, turning a vibrant red, like a peony crushed by a cruel hand.
“Ah Huai, so beautiful.”
His touch didn’t lessen, causing Yun Huai, who was asleep, to feel a stinging numbness on his lips. His eyelashes fluttered as he opened his eyes.
Yun Huai, who had been tired after staying at the imperial examination hall for three days and went straight to sleep upon returning home, blinked wearily. He was certain that the man in front of him wasn’t a hallucination. He was really in his room, and he was playing with his lips.
He instantly woke up, raised his hand to grab the man’s wrist and try to push him away, but he found he couldn’t. “You… how did you get into my room?”
“The world is vast. Where can’t I go?” Qin Jingchuan’s voice was low and magnetic, quite pleasant, but what he said was not so pleasant.
“Ah Huai, we will sleep together in the future. You should get used to my presence.”
Yun Huai: Are you crazy? Do I even know you?
His mind went blank. He stared blankly at the man who had spoken such outrageous words.
“Do you want to get your head checked?”
Saying such things in front of a stranger, this man’s mental illness was probably incurable.
Qin Jingchuan clasped Yun Huai’s hand. “Yun Huai, I’m not talking nonsense.”
“Three days ago, I saw you. I fell for you at first sight, and I sent someone to investigate your identity.”
Yun Huai frowned. “Let go…”
What had he been eating? His grip was so strong, it was hurting his wrist.
Qin Jingchuan slightly loosened his grip, but he still didn’t let go of Yun Huai’s wrist. “I am Qin Jingchuan. I want to marry you.”
Yun Huai: !!!∑(°Д°ノ)ノ
“What? What are you talking about?!”
He didn’t know whether to be surprised by the man’s identity or the fact that he wanted to marry him.
Qin Jingchuan was the name of the current Emperor, which meant the man in front of him was His Majesty.
Oh, and this man wanted to marry him.
“Wait, calm down first. No, let me catch my breath.”
This was an ancient world, right? Right?
How could a world that valued the union of men and women have such blatant same-sex love, and he was the one this man had his eye on?
In this life, he had only studied and taken exams. He hadn’t done anything else!
What was this man thinking?
Qin Jingchuan stared intently at Yun Huai. “Ah Huai, my parents are dead. No one can stand above you. If you enter the palace, you will be Empress. You will be second only to me, above ten thousand others. No one will dare question your position.”
He changed his self-address at this point, from “I” to “朕” (朕, a formal pronoun used by emperors), indicating his determination.
Yun Huai twitched his mouth. “I don’t think I agreed to enter the palace, Your Majesty.”
He was still trying to process everything, and the man was already thinking about having him enter the palace as Empress!
Could he not be so impulsive?
Qin Jingchuan frowned. “Why wouldn’t you? Are you worried that I’ll have three palaces and six courtyards?”
“Rest assured, although I’ve reached the age of thirty, I’ve never married a woman, nor a man. You’re the first person I’ve ever fallen for.”
“I’m not a fickle philanderer. To have a good man by my side for life is enough.”
He held Yun Huai’s hand and said solemnly, “You are my good man.”
Yun Huai was completely dumbfounded. “???”
Help, he thinks he’s met a stalker.
He coughed lightly and used all his strength to pull his wrist away from the man’s grasp.
“I think this is inappropriate. Your Majesty, please leave.”
Qin Jingchuan’s eyes turned icy cold at his words, like ice.
“What’s inappropriate? Just tell me, and I’ll change.”
Yun Huai rubbed his temples, feeling a headache coming on. “I’m a man. How can I be Empress?”
Throughout the eight dynasties of Longteng Kingdom, no emperor had ever refused to marry a woman and instead made a man his Empress. He didn’t want to be the first male Empress.
He wanted to be a high-ranking official, not a palace Empress. These were two completely different things.
Qin Jingchuan’s expression remained unchanged. He was unmoved.
“What does it matter if you’re a man? I declared when I ascended the throne that I only love men. What’s the big deal about marrying a man back to the palace?”
Yun Huai: You’re amazing! You’re ruthless!
He tried to find an excuse. “Look at my status. I’m not worthy of you. And I want to enter officialdom.”
Qin Jingchuan stroked his chin, thinking for a moment. “No problem. Your status is not high. I’ll take care of it. I can grant you a title or bestow one on your father.”
“If you want to enter officialdom, I’ll allow it.”
His heart’s desire was just reaching adulthood, with ambitions. It was understandable.
He would fully support Yun Huai’s career.
Yun Huai was a little speechless. “Are you aware of what you’re doing, Your Majesty? What will the officials think?”
Qin Jingchuan curled his lips, taking the phrase “reckless and willful” as a compliment.
“Ah Huai, don’t worry. They can’t do anything.”
Yun Huai lay back down in frustration, pulling the covers over his head.
“It’s all a dream, it’s all a dream…”
He must be opening his eyes the wrong way. Otherwise, how could he encounter something so absurd?
