Chapter 76: Golden Serpent Demon King x Fierce Beast Qiongqi 10
In front of guests from both the immortal and demon realms, Su Yan directly executed the top leader of the immortal realm.
No one wanted to end up like the Immortal Emperor, so they all surrendered their weapons, each one behaving obediently, afraid of being devoured by the Qiongqi demon beside them.
“The Green Ox Demon King and Prince Ling Mo are dead. Now that the demon realm is without a ruler, a new leader must be chosen. Su Yan, the son of the former Golden Serpent Demon King, is capable of taking on this responsibility.”
“The Wolf Clan humbly requests that Your Highness Su Yan ascend to the throne.”
“The Fox Clan also respectfully requests Your Highness to take the throne.”
More and more clan leaders of the demon realm voiced their support, making Su Yan’s ascension a matter of unanimous consensus.
Su Yan chuckled lightly, “In that case, from now on, I am the ruler of the demon realm.”
“Immediately inform the entire demon realm that I will soon take the throne.” He walked past the bowing demon leaders and calmly sat on the throne.
“Additionally, issue my command: purge the remnants of Ling Mo, his son, and the Immortal Emperor.”
The demon clans bowed and replied, “We obey Your Majesty’s order.”
The leaderless immortals trembled in fear, momentarily worried about their safety.
Su Yan hadn’t forgotten about the immortal realm. He glanced toward the immortals huddled in the corners.
“The immortal realm cannot be without a ruler. Go back and carefully recommend someone to take the throne.”
A young immortal nervously asked, “Won’t you seize our territory?”
Su Yan sneered, “Do you think I care about the immortal realm? I only want what is rightfully mine. Let the immortal realm be governed by someone capable.”
He didn’t believe that such a vast immortal realm couldn’t produce a fair and selfless ruler. If not, he would personally cultivate one.
“The immortal realm resides in the Nine Heavens, the mortal realm on the earth, and the demon realm lies between them. Each realm should govern itself without interference. I will follow my father’s will and restore peace to the three realms.”
While unifying the three realms might seem more imposing, their distinct customs and habits would inevitably lead to friction if mixed.
It was better to let each realm govern itself.
The surviving immortals were overjoyed. Whoever the next Immortal Emperor might be, as long as it wasn’t the ruthless demon Su Yan, they were satisfied.
“Thank you, Demon King, for your mercy.”
“Rest assured, the immortal realm will form an alliance with the demon realm and never harbor greed again.”
Damn it! The Immortal Emperor’s schemes had nearly cost the entire immortal leadership their lives at today’s wedding banquet. Who would dare play such games again?
They didn’t want to be killed by Su Yan or become a meal for the Qiongqi demon.
Qiongqi stood by Su Yan’s side, his fierce gaze never leaving the crowd below.
He had no interest in power but was very interested in fighting and Su Yan.
Su Yan tapped the table lightly and said, “Send someone to investigate cases from the past five hundred years. Release and compensate any demons who were wrongfully imprisoned.”
“Focus especially on those exiled to the wastelands. If there are innocent demons, I will personally take Qiongqi to release them and ensure they live peacefully in the demon realm.”
The Monkey Clan leader bowed and replied, “I will investigate immediately. I will overturn all wrongful convictions and ensure no innocent souls continue to suffer.”
His youngest son had been forced by Ling Mo to take the blame and was exiled to the wastelands.
Now that Demon King Su Yan had brought this up, he would spare no effort to uncover the truth and bring his son back.
Not long after, Su Yan ascended to the throne, becoming the wise and decisive Golden Serpent Demon King, just like his father.
He restored the demon realm to its former prosperity and peace, eliminating the chaos and cannibalism that had plagued it during the Green Ox Demon King’s reign.
The mortal realm also returned to tranquility, with no more incidents of entire villages or cities being devoured. Humans continued to thrive as before.
Additionally, the Monkey Clan leader’s investigation uncovered many wrongful convictions.
Not only the clan leader’s son but also many powerless minor demons had been forced to take the blame for the crimes of the Green Ox Demon King’s faction.
Su Yan’s case was not unique.
The Monkey Clan leader presented all the wrongful cases to Su Yan, who released and compensated the innocent while bringing the guilty to justice, imposing even harsher punishments.
For a time, the demon realm’s atmosphere improved significantly.
Meanwhile, after rigorous screening, the immortal realm selected a righteous new Immortal Emperor. Shortly after Su Yan’s ascension, the new emperor held his coronation ceremony and invited Su Yan to witness it.
Su Yan not only attended but also signed a peace treaty with the new Immortal Emperor, establishing penalties for harming humans.
These rules greatly restrained both immortals and demons, protecting the vulnerable mortal realm.
The three realms coexisted peacefully, each undisturbed by the others.
On Su Yan’s five hundredth birthday, Qiongqi insisted that Su Yan marry him.
Su Yan was busy with official duties and didn’t notice Qiongqi’s dark mood.
Qiongqi strode toward the engrossed beauty, wrapped his arms around Su Yan, and slid his fingers into Su Yan’s collar, caressing the snowy skin beneath. His crimson eyes grew darker.
“Ah Yan, you’ve been back in the demon realm for decades. When will you finally marry me?”
Su Yan put down his brush, “Marry? Aren’t you already my partner?”
Given the demon’s flamboyance, the entire demon realm knew they were a couple.
Qiongqi frowned, “It’s not the same. In the mortal realm, couples are only recognized after marriage. We haven’t had a wedding.”
He gritted his teeth in frustration, “Those ignorant demons think I’m your kept man, not your legitimate husband.”
Bah! Kept man? He was the rightful spouse!
Su Yan sighed with a helpless smile, “You… they’re just talking nonsense. How could you possibly be my kept man?”
Keeping a ten-thousand-year-old demon as a lover? Even as the Demon King, he couldn’t afford that!
“You’re ten thousand years old. Don’t let their words bother you.”
Qiongqi pouted, “Su Yan, are you saying I’m too old for you?”
“I’m ten thousand years old, so what? I’m just a little older, that’s all!”
He strongly suspected the demons were mocking his age, but it was a fact he couldn’t change.
He had just lived a bit longer than others, hadn’t he?
Who knew that none of the current demons or immortals could live past ten thousand years?
Demons and immortals had to undergo tribulations every thousand years. Failing meant death; only by overcoming them could they truly grow.
To this day, few immortals or demons in history had passed the ten-thousand-year mark. Qiongqi was one of them and the oldest demon in the current era.
Su Yan cupped Qiongqi’s face, his beautiful eyes filled with endless tenderness, “No.”
“I don’t mind that you’re older. Don’t overthink it.” He sighed softly, “Let me pick a good day, and we’ll have a grand wedding.”
It’s just a wedding—he’d give it to him!
Qiongqi nodded quickly, “You promised! No take-backs!”
Su Yan chuckled, “Alright, no take-backs.”
