Chapter 86: Golden Serpent Demon King x Fierce Beast Qiongqi 20
The competition lasted for three days, and Su Yan and Qiongqi observed it for the entire duration.
While the couple was engrossed in watching the matches, unbeknownst to them, the audience was secretly eyeing them.
In truth, most of the attention was on Su Yan, but due to Qiongqi’s menacing presence, who never left the beauty’s side, no one dared to approach him.
Qiongqi single-handedly blocked all potential suitors, exuding an intimidating aura that made others quiver in fear.
Compared to him, Su Yan seemed less frightening. However, neither of the two demons was to be trifled with, and underestimating either would be a grave mistake.
After the final match concluded, Su Yan, feeling parched from munching on melon seeds, casually ordered the relaxed Qiongqi to fetch him a few jugs of wine.
Once Qiongqi left, many in the crowd began to eye the red-robed beauty with growing interest.
Su Yan lowered his gaze to the stage where the top three winners were receiving their awards. The corners of his eyes tilted slightly, and his beautiful peach blossom eyes seemed to reflect a sea of blooming flowers.
His gaze was intoxicating, yet elusive, leaving hearts fluttering and minds entranced.
Fei Siyuan, standing beside a young man in gray robes, stared unabashedly at Su Yan’s strikingly gorgeous face, his dark eyes filled with infatuation.
“So beautiful. Which sect does he belong to?”
Hearing this, the young man in gray frowned and warned, “Senior Brother Fei, that person is not someone you can afford to provoke.”
Though the beauty was alluring, the fierce and ruthless aura surrounding him made it clear he was no ordinary individual. This was why no one dared to approach him.
Those with a keen eye could tell that Su Yan and his companion were merely passing by, enjoying the spectacle, and thus, they wisely kept their distance.
However, Fei Siyuan, utterly captivated, ignored his junior’s advice and even suspected him of deliberately sabotaging his chances.
“Mind your own business!”
He stepped around his junior and strode boldly toward the now alone Su Yan.
Su Yan was casually cracking melon seeds when Fei Siyuan suddenly blocked his view.
“Move,” he said curtly, his tone far from friendly.
Fei Siyuan’s eyes darkened, and he couldn’t resist reaching out his hand.
“Beautiful one, would you like to come with me?”
Su Yan spat out a melon seed shell and shot a cold, venomous glare at the audacious Fei Siyuan.
“No. Get lost.”
Couldn’t he see that Su Yan was already with someone? Qiongqi had only stepped away briefly; it wasn’t as if he were dead.
Fei Siyuan, still undeterred, stood his ground and even extended his hand toward Su Yan.
“You’re so beautiful. I’ve fallen for you.”
“Come with me, and I’ll ensure you live a life of luxury.”
Su Yan responded with a resounding slap, sending Fei Siyuan tumbling to the ground.
“I’ll say it one last time—get lost!”
Fei Siyuan, clutching his face, stood up unrepentant and continued, “I love you. I hope you won’t be so ungrateful!”
“Playing hard to get won’t work on me.”
“Be smart and come home with me.”
The malevolence in Su Yan’s eyes deepened.
Having been a decisive and formidable demon king for nearly six hundred years, he had almost forgotten the dark memories of his past. Yet, this man’s words had dredged them up.
His once dark peach blossom eyes suddenly blazed with a dazzling golden hue, and the fierce aura of a thousand-year-old demon radiated from his body, exerting an overwhelming pressure.
“Hah! The last person who dared speak to me like that now has grass growing three feet high on their grave. It seems you wish to share the same fate.”
He grabbed Fei Siyuan by the neck and lifted him off the ground, silencing the entire arena.
The competition grounds fell into a deathly stillness, with everyone holding their breath.
Meanwhile, sensing the surge of demonic energy, Qiongqi was rushing back at full speed. Simultaneously, the Crown Prince of the Immortal Realm and his celestial soldiers, who had detected the demonic energy while patrolling the mortal realm, were also heading toward the eastern part of Tiansheng City.
By the time they arrived, they witnessed Su Yan choking a young cultivator. Qiongqi quickly embraced his partner.
“Ayang, leave this to me. Don’t dirty your hands with a mere mortal.”
Su Yan’s gaze was icy, and his voice carried a cold, hoarse edge.
“This is my matter to handle.”
He shook off the interfering Qiongqi and summoned his serpent bone whip, striking Fei Siyuan with a resounding crack.
“Snap—”
With a single lash, the man fell unconscious.
Still unsatisfied, Su Yan raised the whip for a second strike, only to be stopped by the meddlesome Crown Prince of the Immortal Realm.
“Demon King, let’s discuss this calmly. Publicly whipping a mortal is somewhat excessive.”
Su Yan let out a cold laugh and swung the whip toward Jing Ming. “Since you’re so eager to take his place, I’ll oblige.”
Already in a foul mood, Su Yan had no patience for the Crown Prince’s unwarranted interference. If he wanted to be beaten, so be it!
Qiongqi sighed inwardly.
How foolish! Couldn’t he see that even Qiongqi was staying out of it? What was the Crown Prince thinking, stirring up trouble? Did he not learn from past lessons?
His Ayang was no pushover. When provoked, even Qiongqi felt a twinge of fear.
