Quick Wear: Dote on Wife Like Life Chapter 1

Chapter 1: Playboy Second Young Master × Domineering Female CEO

As soon as Gu Yin was transported over, he felt a stinging pain on his face. He looked up in confusion and saw a middle-aged man storming off after slapping him across the face.

Touching his cheek, Gu Yin calmly walked over to the fridge, took out an egg, and began rubbing it against his face. “System, transmit the plot.”

The original host was the second young master of the Gu Group. He had an elder brother, Gu Jie, who was three years older and shared both parents with him. The eldest young master had always excelled academically, and after returning from studying abroad, he joined the company and quickly found his footing. He conducted himself with integrity and had married his childhood sweetheart early on.

In contrast, the original host was mischievous from a young age, addicted to play and lacking ambition. He performed poorly in school and often got into fights. His father had to donate a building just to ensure he received his university diploma.

As an adult, he indulged in all kinds of pleasure and had no practical skills. This utterly useless second-generation heir finally found his sole value—to marry for the sake of a business alliance.

Of course, the original host didn’t want to do it. He didn’t even like women—how could he possibly want to marry into someone else’s family? If his family hadn’t controlled him so tightly, he might’ve been dating men already.

But the original host was incompetent. Once Father Gu froze his credit cards, he had no choice but to sleep on the streets. In the end, he obeyed his father and got married.

His bride was Miss Nan Ming of the Nan family, three years older than him, cold and aloof by nature. The original host frequently complained that being with her was no fun, and he repeatedly raped her during their marriage. Worse still, while she was pregnant, he shamelessly fooled around with another man day and night. Upon finding out, Nan Ming was so infuriated that she went into premature labor. Their daughter, Nan Yu, was born physically weak and chronically ill, and was despised by the original host.

The man the original host had been with wasn’t any good either—he was only involved with the original host to steal confidential documents from the Nan Corporation. The original host foolishly believed him and sabotaged a collaborative project between the Gu and Nan families, causing financial strain for both companies and pushing them to the brink of bankruptcy.

Nan Ming finally saw his true nature and decisively divorced him. The original host was kicked out by the Gu family and ended up with absolutely nothing.

But the damage he caused to Nan Ming’s family was irreversible. The Nan Corporation barely managed to survive. Nan Ming struggled tirelessly to keep the company afloat while caring for their child. In the end, she died from overwork, and their daughter died young due to illness.

“Mission target: Nan Ming. Host, please begin the protection mission.” The system issued the task in a mechanical voice.

Right now, the plot had progressed to the stage where the original host was still refusing the arranged marriage and had just been warned by his father. Everything was still salvageable.

Gu Yin looked at himself in the mirror. Hmm, handsome—with a bit of a submissive vibe.

He smiled and walked into the wardrobe, choosing a tracksuit from a pile of overly effeminate clothes. Since he was getting married, he figured he should at least go take a look at his fiancée.

He picked a car that didn’t stand out too much and headed for the Nan Corporation. Nan Corp was located in the center of the financial district, right next to Gu Corp. Just like Gu Jie, Nan Ming had joined her family’s company upon returning from abroad and was now the design director, in charge of new product development.

“Little President Gu.” As soon as he entered Nan Corp, many people who recognized Gu Yin greeted him. News of the Gu-Nan marriage alliance had already spread, and many of Nan Corp’s employees knew Gu Yin was going to be their future son-in-law.

Gu Yin nodded politely and said gently to the receptionist, “Could you get your Director Nan for me?”

It was the first time the receptionist had seen Gu Yin act so gently. She stared at him in a daze, thinking that when the second young master of the Gu family behaved properly, he was actually quite handsome.

“Hello?” Gu Yin waved his hand in front of her face. “Is she not here?”

At this point, Gu Yin and Nan Ming weren’t very familiar—they hadn’t met many times. He wasn’t sure if she was in the office, and he suddenly regretted not calling ahead.

“She’s here!”

Snapping back to her senses, the receptionist quickly called Nan Ming’s secretary, Bai Xin, who immediately informed Nan Ming.

“Gu Yin?” Nan Ming looked up in surprise. This guy was extremely resistant to the marriage. Was he here to make a scene? “Let him come up.”

Once given permission, Gu Yin happily bounded upstairs. Nan Ming’s office was on the third floor. He passed through the design department’s open office area and drew a lot of attention. Thick-skinned, he knocked on the door and walked in.

He imitated the original host’s carefree attitude and greeted her casually, “Hey Ming-jie!”

Nan Ming looked up at him, feeling a bit helpless. Boys like this, who hadn’t matured, were incredibly childish.

But as the only daughter of the Nan family, her father had required that her husband marry into the family. That kind of condition made it difficult to find a suitable partner. So when Father Gu proposed the marriage alliance, her family had agreed without hesitation.

Still, Gu Yin didn’t seem very willing, and she didn’t want to force him. If he was here to reject the marriage today, she’d agree to that too.

“Well, speak. What are you here for?” Nan Ming toyed with a pen in her right hand, waiting for Gu Yin’s answer.

“I heard the old man say we’re getting engaged, so I came to check out my fiancée,” Gu Yin said with a sunny smile.

“Oh?” Nan Ming raised an eyebrow. “But I heard you already refused.”

“How can you get married without knowing or interacting with each other?” Gu Yin scratched his head with mock frustration and looked a bit aggrieved.
“I just thought we should get to know each other better, that’s all. But the old man wouldn’t listen—just assumed I didn’t want to do it and even hit me. Ming-jie, you’re so amazing. I’ve admired you for a long time.”

“Heh.” Clearly, Nan Ming didn’t believe his nonsense. “So how do you plan on getting to know me?”

“Well, we should at least date first. I don’t want to get married without ever having experienced any kind of romance.”

The original host had never dated because he liked men—so this technically wasn’t a lie.

Nan Ming had always assumed Gu Yin was a total playboy, and didn’t expect him to say something like that. Indifferent, she nodded. “Fine, then let’s date first.”

Gu Yin wasn’t upset by her businesslike tone. “Then I’ll wait for you after work and take you to eat something good.”

Nan Ming didn’t bother with him. She told him to wander around if he wanted and got back to work. The Nan Corporation was about to launch a new product, and she was incredibly busy—she didn’t have time to entertain Gu Yin.

Gu Yin wasn’t bothered either. After sitting in her office for a bit and realizing she was genuinely swamped, he went out. He initially planned to stop by Gu Corp for a while, but then noticed the design department was having a heated argument over creative direction. The original host had studied art and design, so this was actually up his alley. Gu Yin walked over.

“This isn’t right. Why would you put a belt on a qipao? You’re completely ruining it!” an older woman scolded a younger male designer.

“Sister Yin, you don’t understand today’s fashion! There are so many ordinary qipaos out there—without a distinctive feature, how can we stand out?” the young man argued back.

“Distinctive doesn’t mean bizarre! What you’re doing is destroying our traditional clothing culture!”

Standing beside the young man, Gu Yin looked over his design draft. He found the young man’s concept bold, and with proper adjustments, it could absolutely become a trend.
