Chapter 128: Cultivating Oneself, Clearing the Mind and Desires
The moment Lin Qingyou and Yin Hanyu turned to leave, Leng Yifeng, who had been suppressing his emotions, finally lost control of the turbulent feelings in his heart.
Like a long-dormant volcano erupting all at once, he grabbed everything within reach and hurled them violently in all directions.
The neatly arranged teacups, teapots, and exquisite furniture crashed to the ground under his furious assault. Shattered porcelain fragments flew everywhere, covering the floor in a chaotic mess.
Ruan Lan watched her son, who seemed on the verge of madness, and her anger surged uncontrollably.
Without hesitation, she raised her right hand and slapped Leng Yifeng’s contorted face with all her strength.
A loud smack echoed in the room, leaving a visible red mark on his cheek.
However, instead of calming him, the slap only seemed to make him more hysterical after a brief pause.
“Ahhh… Ahhh… Yin Hanyu! I won’t let you go! I will never let you go!”
“You insolent fool! What are you losing your mind for?” Ruan Lan slapped him again.
Shaking with rage, she pointed at the mess on the ground and scolded him loudly.
“If you have the guts, go and kill Yin Hanyu! Who are you putting on this tantrum for? Is this how I raised you?”
“Then what do you expect me to do?” Leng Yifeng roared. “Yin Hanyu is now the highest decision-maker. What can a small Leng family like ours do against him?”
The Leng family was nothing but an ant before the colossal Yin family.
Defeating Yin Hanyu in the future would be nearly impossible.
With his last shred of hope crumbling, Leng Yifeng’s mental defenses collapsed completely.
“Mom, didn’t you say I am Yin Haoting’s biological son? Then why won’t you take me back to the Yin family?”
“Because he is my enemy…”
Ruan Lan had her own pride.
She had barely survived back then, and only when she had no other choice did she swallow her pride and take Leng Yifeng to find Yin Haoting.
But no longer being the daughter of the Pei family, she couldn’t even get close to the Yin family’s gates, let alone see Yin Haoting himself.
In hindsight, it was perhaps for the best.
If Leng Yifeng truly returned to the Yin family, she would be betraying the ancestors of the Pei family.
Over the years, her feelings for Leng Yifeng had been a complex mix of love and hatred—she loved him because he was her son, but his bloodline carried the Yin family’s curse, the same family that had destroyed hers.
Ruan Lan bit her lip hard before suddenly stepping forward and embracing Leng Yifeng.
She whispered,
“Yifeng, I can let you return to the Yin family and claim your birthright, but you must remember—you will always be a Pei.”
Back at home.
As soon as Yin Hanyu pulled Lin Qingyou into his arms, he started kissing her. Before long, their kisses led them to the bed.
Just as Yin Hanyu was about to take things further, his grandfather’s phone call came at the worst possible moment.
His face instantly darkened, full of frustration.
The moment he picked up, before his grandfather could say anything, Yin Hanyu impatiently said,
“Grandpa, do you have any sense of timing? It’s sleeping time.”
His “sleeping” was clearly a verb with a different meaning.
But Elder Yin simply responded,
“Sleeping? What sleeping? You’re young, why are you sleeping so early?”
Yin Hanyu: “You’re old, so you don’t need sleep. But I’m young and full of energy—this is prime time for proper sleep.”
He thought that was enough to make his grandfather understand.
But the old man didn’t get the hint at all.
“Sleep, sleep, sleep—how much sleep do you need? Sleep any more, and you’ll die three years earlier.”
Yin Hanyu: “…”
Damn it, you really are my biological grandfather.
“Pfft—”
Lin Qingyou couldn’t hold back her laughter anymore. She took the phone from Yin Hanyu.
“Grandpa, what’s the matter?”
Elder Yin said, “Yixuan has woken up. Just letting you two know.”
“And tomorrow morning, there will be an ancestral ritual. So tonight, it’s best that you two cultivate yourselves, clear your minds, and abstain from desire.”
Yin Hanyu: “…”
Lin Qingyou: “…”
As soon as the call ended, Lin Qingyou buried her blushing face under the blanket.
“Ahhh, this is so embarrassing, so embarrassing!”
Her face was completely red with shyness. In the end, she kicked Yin Hanyu off the bed.
“It’s all your fault, you big pervert!”
Yin Hanyu: “…”
???
He was the one suffering the most right now, okay?
“You’re still glaring at me?” Lin Qingyou arched her delicate eyebrows. She grabbed a soft pillow and threw it hard at Yin Hanyu, pouting,
“I already told you, tomorrow is a very, very, very important day. So tonight, absolutely no funny business!”
But this annoying guy came home and immediately had only one thing on his mind.
And she—well, she was easily swayed by good looks and had no real principles. Seeing his handsome face, she gave in right away.
Yin Hanyu smirked mischievously and lifted her chin.
“Wife, to me, nothing in the world is more important than sleeping with you.”
Lin Qingyou: “…!!!”
Ugh, this shameless man! Should she be moved or moved?
Flustered and angry, she grabbed another pillow and threw it at him.
“Yin Hanyu, you pervert! Have you no shame at all?”
But instead of stopping, Yin Hanyu became even more playful. He suddenly lunged at her, his mischievous hands reaching her waist, tickling her mercilessly.
Lin Qingyou was instantly thrown into chaos, laughing uncontrollably, tears forming in her eyes.
She twisted and turned, trying to escape his grasp, like a lively little fish flopping in water.
“Ahhh! Yin Hanyu, you big bully! Stop it! I’m going to die from laughing!”
“What did you just call me?” He didn’t stop; he only tickled her harder.
“Yin Hanyu!” She giggled and yelled, “If you don’t stop, I’ll bite you!”
“Call me ‘husband’.”
“Go to hell, you wish!” She finally broke free and immediately pounced on him in retaliation. She straddled him and bit his cheek hard.
“Take that, you shameless rogue!”
“Hiss…”
A cute little bite mark appeared on his handsome face.
Lin Qingyou suddenly realized something.
“Oh no! You have to attend the Yin family’s highest ceremonial ritual tomorrow!”
“So what? If they ask about my face, I’ll just say my wife was hungry at midnight and took a bite.”
“Get lost! What do you take me for?”
She smacked him again.
Yin Hanyu, grinning, lunged toward her.
“Qingyou, it’d be weird if only I had a bite mark. You should have one too.”
“Ahhh! No way, no way!”
She tried to run, but he caught her immediately.
“Where do you think you’re going, little troublemaker? Come here, I have to bite you back.”
“Nooo—!”
“You must!”
Their playful laughter filled the room as they wrestled on the bed, oblivious to the storm and schemes awaiting them…
