“I’m done wasting words on you…” Pei Mingzhu yanked at Old Master Yin. “Come here…”
At the same time, she looked at Yin Hanyu. “You come with me too.”
Yin Hanyu obediently followed.
Pei Mingzhu turned to Leng Yifeng. “Find a rope and tie him up.”
Even though Yin Hanyu was poisoned and under her control, Pei Mingzhu knew his abilities well. It was safer to restrain him.
Leng Yifeng followed her instructions immediately.
“And Yin Yixuan!” Pei Mingzhu suddenly shouted, “Where is Yin Yixuan? Bring him out now—I know he’s not dead yet!”
Yin Yichen clenched his fists in fury, wishing to fight Pei Mingzhu. But when he saw Yin Hanyu subtly nod at him, despite his anger, he gritted his teeth and went to fetch Yin Yixuan.
At this moment, Yin Yixuan was still sitting in a wheelchair, looking frail and weak, as if he could not even stand.
Pei Mingzhu saw his pale purple lips and laughed in satisfaction.
Ming Yu was truly ruthless…
As Old Master Yin, Yin Yixuan, and Yin Hanyu were taken away, Lin Qingyou tried to follow.
But Pei Mingzhu stopped her. “Why are you coming? Do you want to die?”
“Yes, I do,” Lin Qingyou said. “Let me come with you. Even if I die, I want to die with Yin Hanyu.”
“Hah! Trying to put on a show of deep love in front of me?” Pei Mingzhu sneered. “Lin Qingyou, you should’ve died long ago… but…”
She suddenly hesitated, as if remembering something. Then she pursed her lips. “Now’s not the time for you to die—you’re still useful to me.”
“As for you guys…” Pei Mingzhu turned to Lan Si, Yin Haoting, and Yin Haoyang. “The three most important men in the Yin family are in my hands now. Don’t even think about playing tricks…”
“Or else…” Her voice turned sinister. “I’ll slice your father and son into pieces and feed them to the dogs.”
With those chilling words, Pei Mingzhu turned and left.
Before getting into the car, she leaned out and said, “Remember, meet me at Angel Kindergarten tomorrow night—I have a big gift for you all.”
After getting in, Pei Mingzhu found an excuse to send Leng Yifeng away.
She then drove the car herself, speeding toward Angel Kindergarten.
She was in an exceptionally good mood.
Yin Hanyu asked her a few questions, and she answered them all.
“My mother and you are biological sisters?”
“So what if we are?” Pei Mingzhu spat disdainfully. “She was just an unacknowledged, disgraceful illegitimate daughter of the Pei family.”
“But I heard my father used to love her mother to death—he even fought with his family just to marry her.”
“Ha! But with her lowly, shameful background, how could she ever be worthy of a Pei family heir? Of course, my family refused.”
“So he set up a home with her outside.”
“But that didn’t last long. Soon enough, my father couldn’t stand the hardship of living away from the Pei family…”
“He couldn’t handle the loss of status or the struggle of being poor and powerless.”
Pei Mingzhu looked at Yin Hanyu and smirked. “I heard that shortly after your mother was born, he stopped loving her mother.”
“So naturally, he compromised and returned to the Pei family.”
“A spineless man,” Old Master Yin commented.
Pei Mingzhu scoffed. “Exactly. Love is nothing when faced with power and wealth.”
“My father ended up marrying my mother and having me,” she said smugly. “While your mother and grandmother were long forgotten.”
Yin Hanyu pursed his lips and fell silent.
No wonder his mother had never mentioned her Pei family ties.
The car sped along the road.
As they neared the kindergarten, a lone figure in a white coat stood in the distance, waiting.
But as they got closer and his face became clearer, a chill ran down Yin Hanyu’s spine.
The man looked disturbingly abnormal.
His face was twisted, one side higher than the other, like a warped mask. His eyes carried an eerie energy, and the way he looked at people sent shivers down their spines.
Yet, the moment he saw Pei Mingzhu, his dull, lifeless eyes lit up like a burning torch.
For that instant, despite his horrifying appearance, the love in his gaze was so intense that it almost made him seem… less frightening.
Pei Mingzhu pulled up in front of him.
Through the car window, she met his gaze, and for a brief moment, an unmistakable look of disgust flashed in her beautiful eyes.
Then, as if remembering something, she suddenly smiled at him.
She ordered him to push Yin Yixuan to the laboratory.
The man obediently complied.
After he left, Pei Mingzhu turned to Yin Hanyu and said, “Did you know? You were supposed to be his son. He was… the beggar I found for your mother back then.”
Yin Hanyu clenched his fists, struggling to contain his emotions.
“But don’t underestimate him,” Pei Mingzhu continued.
“You’ve been searching for a master hypnotist, haven’t you? Well, he’s the one.”
Yin Hanyu’s face changed drastically.
“Surprised?” Pei Mingzhu said. “He taught me everything I know about hypnosis. He even saved my life once.”
“Over the years, our research experiments have depended on him.”
“Experiments? What experiments?” Old Master Yin demanded.
Pei Mingzhu gave him a vicious look. “You’ll find out soon enough…”
Meanwhile, back at the Yin family estate, chaos had erupted.
After Pei Mingzhu left, Yin Haoyang and Yin Yichen immediately mobilized all their bodyguards and hidden forces, ready for a full-scale battle.
Lan Si and Yin Haoting were just as anxious, each gathering their own allies.
At first, the two brothers worked together, strategizing on how to rescue their people.
Lin Qingyou was about to comment on how well they were cooperating when, the next second, they started fighting—over who would save Yin Hanyu.
Lan Si declared, “He’s my son, so of course, I’m going!”
“You bastard—” Yin Haoting swung a punch at Lan Si. “Say that again?! He’s my son!”
“I could say it a hundred times.”
Yin Haoting answered with another punch.
This time, it was a hard hit—Lan Si coughed up blood.
Enraged, he shouted, “Brother, I met Bai Ci before you did!”
“She’s not as kind and innocent as you think…”
Yin Haoting froze mid-punch.
“The first time I met her, she was stealing.”
“Every time I saw her after that, she was doing something shady.”
“But that only made me more interested in her…”
“Yet because you were my beloved big brother, and you even lost your sight saving me, I had to step aside.”
“But…” Lan Si’s voice broke with pain, tears sliding down his face. “That… is the biggest regret of my life.”
