“Pregnant???!!!”
Lin Qingyou instinctively touched her belly as she processed the shocking news.
She was pregnant!!!
“Qingyou, do you know? You’re pregnant! We’re going to be parents…” Yin Hanyu looked at Lin Qingyou with immense joy, his eyes shining with excitement and happiness.
He was so overjoyed that he seemed like a child, immediately reaching out and pulling Lin Qingyou into a tight embrace before spinning her around in circles.
“Hahahaha… Hahahaha… I’m going to be a dad…”
Yin Hanyu’s exuberant laughter echoed throughout the entire room.
At that moment, he was so overwhelmed with joy that he had completely lost himself in the moment. His radiant smile and hearty laughter were filled with pure happiness.
Being spun around in his arms, Lin Qingyou couldn’t help but be infected by his happiness. Her initial shock slowly melted into a soft smile, and the corners of her lips lifted unconsciously.
They were having a baby. She was going to be a mother!
Looking at the man who was so ecstatic over her pregnancy, Lin Qingyou’s heart was overflowing with warmth and sweetness.
She instinctively placed her hand over her belly.
Baby, welcome to the world…
“You should put me down now. If you’re not dizzy, the baby will be.”
Hearing this, Yin Hanyu immediately stopped spinning, though he still held Lin Qingyou tightly and refused to let go.
Lin Qingyou couldn’t help but laugh. She let him be—who knew he loved children this much?
Honestly, this baby came as a surprise.
They hadn’t even discussed having children yet. And now, suddenly, they had one.
“Qingyou…” Yin Hanyu gently cupped Lin Qingyou’s delicate face in his large hands, gazing into her eyes with deep affection.
Lin Qingyou was still in a bit of a daze.
Suddenly, Yin Hanyu kissed her firmly on her soft lips.
“What are you doing?!” Lin Qingyou’s face turned red instantly. “My uncle is still here!”
Yin Hanyu whispered, “Qingyou, thank you…”
He thought being with her was already the greatest happiness.
He never expected that life could be even more joyful.
The baby was unexpected, but such a wonderful surprise…
Yin Hanyu’s face was full of happiness.
Suddenly, Xiao Yan smacked him on the back of the head. “Bastard, your loud laughter is annoying me.”
His niece had just come home, and she hit him with a thunderbolt like this!
Xiao Yan felt like a farmer who had just watched his precious cabbage get eaten by a pig.
Glaring at Yin Hanyu, he said angrily, “You’re done for. The old man is very traditional. He absolutely hates couples who live together without marriage—let alone have children!”
Yin Hanyu calmly took out two red marriage certificates from his pocket and handed them to Xiao Yan. “Uncle, we’re married.”
Xiao Yan: …!!!
Xiao Yan stared at the two red booklets in disbelief, then turned to Lin Qingyou.
Lin Qingyou covered her face and pinched Yin Hanyu angrily.
Why does he always carry their marriage certificates around?
Why does he pull them out at every opportunity?
“You’re really married?” Xiao Yan felt his heart shatter into a million pieces.
“Yes, yes, we really are,” Lin Qingyou replied with a smile. “We’ve been married for several months.”
“You’ve been married for months?!” Xiao Yan frowned. “How come your aunt never mentioned it?”
“Because we haven’t had the wedding yet, so I asked her to keep it quiet.”
Yin Hanyu added, “The wedding is still being planned.”
“It better be a proper one,” Xiao Yan said, glaring at Yin Hanyu. “If you dare to neglect Qingyou even a little, I’ll stab you with needles—just like how Nanny Rong stabbed Ziwei.”
Yin Hanyu: …
Lin Qingyou: …
Lin Qingyou couldn’t help but laugh. Her uncle was truly something else.
Xiao Yan continued, “And you better invite me to the wedding!”
“Of course!” Lin Qingyou smiled warmly. “You’re my uncle. I’ll make sure you get the best seat.”
“That’s more like it…” Xiao Yan huffed. Then, looking at Yin Hanyu, he tilted his chin up proudly and grumbled, “You really lucked out, brat.”
Yin Hanyu, in an exceptionally good mood, let Xiao Yan scold him without complaint.
He had a wife. And soon, he would have a daughter.
He was the luckiest and happiest man in the world.
Nothing else mattered.
Xiao Yan stared at Yin Hanyu’s smug face and felt like he had just punched a pillow.
The more upset he got, the more satisfied this guy seemed.
Hmph…
So, Xiao Yan changed tactics. He turned to Lin Qingyou, cupped her face, and sighed dramatically. “Qingyou, you’re still so young and beautiful. Why did you tie yourself to just one tree?”
With a serious expression, he advised her, “You should look around more, consider your options, and choose carefully. There are plenty of fish in the sea—you should find the best one.”
“He is the best one!”
Lin Qingyou wrapped her arm around Yin Hanyu’s and spoke with conviction. “Uncle, there’s no one better than him.”
“Ugh…” Xiao Yan cringed at her words.
Now he understood why fathers always found their daughters’ husbands unworthy.
Lin Qingyou wasn’t even his daughter, yet he already found Yin Hanyu annoying.
He was so mad that he wanted to stab Yin Hanyu a hundred times over.
“Qingyou, are you feeling unwell?” Yin Hanyu carefully placed a hand on her belly. “Let me take you to rest first.”
“Oh, right! Uncle—” Yin Hanyu turned to Xiao Yan urgently. “How is Qingyou’s health? How is the baby?”
Xiao Yan shot him a glare. This brat sure knew how to call him “uncle” when it suited him.
“Uncle, tell me!” Yin Hanyu pleaded, worried about Lin Qingyou’s condition.
“She’s just over a month along. It’s too early to tell much,” Xiao Yan said. “Just make sure you take good care of her. Don’t be careless.”
Yin Hanyu nodded repeatedly.
“And you,” Xiao Yan continued, turning to Lin Qingyou, “as the mother, you need to be extra careful. You’ve been stressed, haven’t you?”
“You can tell?”
He had only checked her pulse for a few seconds, yet he already figured out so much?
“Your emotional state affects both you and the baby,” Xiao Yan said seriously. “Is something troubling you?”
“Uh…” Lin Qingyou hesitated. She didn’t want to talk about her father.
Yin Hanyu stepped in, “Her aunt is still unconscious. Of course, she’s worried.”
“That makes sense…” Xiao Yan nodded. Then, he looked at Lin Qingyou. “How about this? Tomorrow, I’ll personally go to the hospital and bring your aunt home.”
“Bring her home?” Lin Qingyou was shocked. “But she’s seriously injured. How?”
“You don’t need to worry about that,” Xiao Yan reassured her. “I’m a professional doctor. I know how to take care of her. Besides, the Xiao family has better medical facilities than any hospital—it’s the perfect place for her recovery.”
That was true.
The Xiao family estate was like a secluded paradise—definitely ideal for recuperation.
“Then, I’ll leave it to you, Uncle.”
“What are you thanking me for? She’s my sister.” Xiao Yan patted Lin Qingyou’s shoulder. “You should focus on resting. Once you’ve rested, I’ll bring your grandfather to meet you tomorrow…”
