Who could it be?
Yin Hanyu and Lin Qingyou exchanged a glance and smiled in unison.
Yin Yichen, however, was completely puzzled. “Who is it exactly?”
Yin Hanyu replied coldly, “Figure it out yourself.”
Yin Yichen racked his brain but still couldn’t come up with an answer. Frustrated, he repeatedly knocked his head against the coffee table. “Brother, just tell me!”
Yin Hanyu: “If you can’t figure it out, stop calling me brother.”
“Ahhh…” Yin Yichen wailed. “Brother, my dear brother, don’t be like this!”
Yin Hanyu snorted and got up to head to his bedroom.
Yin Yichen immediately turned to Lin Qingyou for help. “Little witch, tell me! I must avenge my brother!”
Lin Qingyou haughtily lifted her chin. “What did you just call me?”
Yin Yichen quickly corrected himself. “Miss Lin.”
Lin Qingyou snorted coldly.
Yin Yichen tried again. “Goddess Lin?”
Lin Qingyou turned her head away.
Desperate, Yin Yichen gave it another shot. “Your Majesty, the Queen?”
This time, Lin Qingyou struck a regal pose.
Yin Yichen’s eyes lit up, eagerly waiting for her response.
But Lin Qingyou still didn’t say anything.
“Come on! What do I have to do for you to tell me?!” Yin Yichen plopped onto the floor in surrender.
Lin Qingyou beckoned him with her finger. He scoffed but still leaned in expectantly.
Clearing her throat, Lin Qingyou said, “Call me sister-in-law.”
“Nani?!?!”
Yin Yichen immediately stepped back.
Lin Qingyou: “Are you going to say it or not?”
Yin Yichen shook his head frantically. “No way.”
Lin Qingyou shrugged. “Alright then, take your time figuring it out. But by the time you do, your enemy’s kid will probably be old enough to run errands.”
Yin Yichen: “…”
Lin Qingyou stood up and made a move to leave.
“Sister-in-law…”
Yin Yichen muttered weakly.
Lin Qingyou cupped her ear. “What? Too quiet, I didn’t hear you.”
Yin Yichen took a deep breath and shouted, “SIS! TER! IN! LAW!”
Lin Qingyou beamed, patting his chubby cheeks. “Good little brother, make sure to call me that from now on.”
Yin Yichen pouted. “Now can you tell me?”
Lin Qingyou sat back down. “It’s simple. Who told you that Gu Huai had a girlfriend? Who convinced you to terminate his contract? And now, who’s trying to sign him?”
Gu Huai was a top-tier celebrity, and his supposed girlfriend had never been publicly revealed.
Yin Yichen had terminated Gu Huai’s contract because of this alleged relationship, but while the contract termination became public knowledge, the girlfriend’s identity remained a secret.
Gu Huai himself wouldn’t have been able to cover it up so thoroughly.
Yin Yichen hesitated. “It was Jiang Zhuocheng who told me…”
Jiang Zhuocheng?
Lin Qingyou smirked coldly.
Leng Yifeng, so it really was you.
Jiang Zhuocheng handed a document to Leng Yifeng. “Yifeng, take a look and see if anything needs to be added.”
Leng Yifeng didn’t even open it—he simply set it aside. “I trust your work.”
Jiang Zhuocheng burst into laughter. “Hearing that from you makes all my sleepless nights worth it.”
Leng Yifeng handed him a glass of red wine. “Are you confident about signing Gu Huai?”
“Absolutely.” Jiang Zhuocheng was brimming with confidence. “If this were before, it might have been tricky. After all, Shengshi Entertainment has the Yin Corporation backing them. But Yin Yichen—what a fool—handed him over on a silver platter.”
“Gu Huai is one of the hottest celebrities right now, and that idiot just threw him away like he was nothing.”
Leng Yifeng sneered. “Because he has too much already.”
Money-making opportunities were valuable, but Yin Yichen had more money than he knew what to do with.
He could afford to be reckless.
If even Yin Yichen was like this, what about Yin Hanyu?
At this thought, Leng Yifeng clenched his teeth in frustration.
In the past, the only leverage he had over Yin Hanyu was Lin Qingyou.
But now…
He recalled his subordinates reporting that she had moved in right across from Yin Hanyu.
Leng Yifeng suddenly slammed his wine glass down heavily.
Lin Qingyou, are you trying to provoke me?
Fine.
Let’s see who lasts longer.
He was confident—Lin Qingyou had been angry before, but she always ended up coming back to him.
This time would be no different.
Leng Yifeng smirked to himself.
Then he turned to his secretary, Li Jia.
“Bring Lin Qingyou back. Tell her my leg ailment has flared up again.”
When Li Jia arrived at the apartment complex, she spotted Lin Qingyou in the parking lot.
She seemed to be making a phone call.
Lin Qingyou was trying to reach Gu Huai, but his phone was turned off.
That bastard! When I find him, he’s dead meat.
Li Jia quickly approached. “Miss Lin, please wait…”
Lin Qingyou was surprised to see her.
Li Jia was Leng Yifeng’s secretary—and had harbored feelings for him for years.
She had always resented Lin Qingyou and had tried to sabotage her countless times.
Still, Li Jia was a pitiful woman.
In her past life, when Lin Qingyou finally confronted Leng Yifeng about it, he wasn’t even surprised.
He had always known about Li Jia’s feelings. He just pretended not to.
Because Li Jia was a valuable asset, he needed her devotion.
Her suffering? Leng Yifeng was fully aware—he just didn’t care.
Lin Qingyou looked at her coldly. “What do you want?”
Li Jia stepped closer and noticed that Yin Yichen was sitting in the driver’s seat while Yin Hanyu was in the back.
They had been about to leave in search of Gu Huai.
But now, Gu Huai was nowhere to be found—his phone was off, and even his manager had disappeared.
Yin Yichen honked the horn. “Sister-in-law, are you getting in or what?”
“Of course!” Lin Qingyou was quite pleased with the title and immediately hopped into the car, even snuggling closer to Yin Hanyu.
Just as the car was about to leave, Li Jia spoke.
“Miss Lin, Mr. Leng’s leg ailment has flared up again…”
At those words, Yin Yichen, Yin Hanyu, and Lin Qingyou all froze.
Especially Lin Qingyou…
